    Internship: Service Consultant

    Key Purpose

    • We are looking for Service Consultants who are client centric with a passion for customer service and who embrace our core purpose and and values through every interaction.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:

    • Dealing with multiple telephonic queries from Investors, Brokers and Franchises.
    • Dealing with queries through to resolution.
    • Dealing with queries focusing on client satisfaction and client retention outcomes.
    • Accurate logging of all interactions.
    • Achievement of product and soft skills knowledge targets
    • Adhere to risk and compliance requirements
    • Updating callers on the progress of their requests
    • Ensuring that callers receive service in line with Discovery Standards
    • Responsible handling of administrative tasks, including keeping accurate, detailed stats of all queries and correspondence
    • Accurate record keeping and quality feedback to direct line manager
    • Routing queries to the correct departments or teams for adequate resolution
    • Responds quickly to the needs of their callers and to the reactions and feedback of callers
    • Utilizing all the Discovery systems required for all calls, queries and correspondence

    Internship: Servicing Administrator

    Key Purpose

    • The Administration of transfers i.e.  Normal transfers (Withdrawal and Retirement), Section 14 & Section 50 transfers from other Insurers/Companies to Discovery’s platform.

    Objectives of this role

    • Processing of transfers in (Section 50, Section 14 and Normal )  from other Insurers/Companies onto Discovery’s platform.
    • Handling telephonic and email queries from policy holders, financial advisors, franchises and other Insures/Companies

    Responsibilities

    • Processing of all transfer types i.e Section 14, Section 50 and Normal (withdrawal and Retirements).
    • Requesting and following up on all outstanding documents with external companies, financial advisors, franchises and client’s
    • Dealing with queries via email and taking of inbound calls with a possibility of outbound calls also.
    • Dealing with escalations and ensuring that recovery on service failures are resolved timeously.
    • Relationship building with financial advisors and internal and external colleagues.
    • Monitoring of the task list to ensure all cases are within the agreed Service Level Agreements.
    • Assist with the manual capturing of applications.
    • Assisting with testing and system implementations
    • Ensure that quality standards are met at all times.

    Pricing Manager

    Key Purpose

    • Seeking a Pricing Manager with a strong background in short-term insurance to lead the development of customer lifetime value models, renewal strategies and the pricing strategy for Discovery Insure. The ideal candidate will have experience in predictive modeling, data analysis, and actuarial techniques to support business objectives and drive profitability.

    Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to

    • Oversee and guide in-depth investigations and ad-hoc analysis to support pricing decisions and business objectives.
    • Lead the creation and refinement of actuarial models to monitor business performance and support development initiatives.
    • Take ownership of lifetime value models and renewal strategies, ensuring they maximize customer value and retention.
    • Utilize and oversee predictive modeling techniques to segment the client base and identify pricing opportunities.
    • Ensure models are accurate and fit for purpose, regularly monitoring their performance and making necessary adjustments.
    • Establish and maintain monitoring processes to measure model performance, ensuring accuracy and reliability in pricing decisions.
    • Ensure data processes are continuously maintained and updated, providing oversight and direction.
    • Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring competitiveness and profitability

    Technical Skills and Knowledge

    • Modelling skills preferred
    • Experience with WTW software (e.g., Emblem, Radar)
    • Programming Skills: SQL (Intermediate)
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) (Advanced) Insurance experience is advantageous.

    Education and Experience

    Education:

    • Matric (Essential)
    • Honours degree in Actuarial Science and/or Mathematical Statistics/ Computer Science or Strong mathematical/economics candidate (Essential)
    • FASSA (Advantageous)

    Minimum Experience:

    • At least 3–5-year Technical Pricing experience within Insurance industry (advantageous)
