    Medical Practice Manager

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the medical practice
    • Managing patient files on our electronic system (Healthware) and add any required notes 
    • Coordinate the medical officers shift rotations, on-call hours, and time-off requests, considering doctors’ preferences, contract requirement, workload, and specialty requirements to ensure coverage across all services.
    • Oversee patient billing, and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Ensure accurate billing by overseeing the preparation, submission, and tracking of patient invoices, minimising errors that may impact revenue or patient satisfaction  and maximizing the billing coding of medical practitioners
    • Collaborate closely with medical officers and the administrative team to gather accurate billing information and troubleshoot claim declines or billing inquiries.
    • Address patient inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
    • Collaborate with management to support business growth and strategic goals.

    Qualifications:

    • Tertiary Qualification in Administration would be advantageous 

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Proven experience in a healthcare management role, preferably within a medical practice.
    • Proficiency in healthcare management software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
    • Knowledge of medical billing and billing codes for a medical practice.

    Occupational Therapist - Sasha Prinsloo Occupational Therapy

    Assistant Carer Supervisor

    Responsibilities: 

    • Supervise and coordinate the carer team by ensuring they are within their allocated areas
    • Ensure the care team is consistently following patient care plans and completing daily charting accurately.
    • Monitor that the carers are following policies, procedures and reporting non-compliance to the Carer Supervisor.
    • Ensure that the carers respond promptly to call/panic buttons, and oversee that the accurate procedure is followed 
    • Assist carers with care tasks, activities, and exercises when necessary
    • Addressing staff queries and providing guidance and ensure resolution 
    • Monitor residents' condition changes that may affect care plans and communicate concerns to the Shift Leader.
    • Identify and escalate where carer training intervention might be required to the Carer Supervisor 
    • Submit daily handover reports and ensure carer equipment is distributed to staff and neatly stored in designated areas at the end of each shift 
    • Promptly report and document incidents.
    • Ensure patient inventory e.g nappies and toiletries are sufficiently stocked 
    • Perform weekly spot checks on resident rooms, equipment, and physical health.
    • Follow infection control procedures and conduct quality checks.
    • Ensure grooming photos, including hair, nails, and overall appearance, are taken and uploaded as required 
    • Ensure ongoing communication with the team to address any concerns regarding staff scheduled for the next day, and promptly escalate issues to the Carer Supervisor or Healthcare Administrator if necessary

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Education and Qualifications:

    • Grade 10 - 12 
    • Acknowledged carer qualification (advantageous) 

    Experience and Knowledge : 

    • Proven experience within a management/supervisory capacity

    Physiotherapist (Cape Town)

    Responsibilities:

    Registered Nurse - Independent Contractor

    • The Registered Nurse will administer care to patients inclusive of frail care, mental health, assisted living, and subacute within our village in the Northern Suburbs or Southern Suburbs of the Western Cape. 
    • The successful incumbent will be responsible for all nursing care on shift and ensuring patients have a comprehensive and accurate care plan.

    Duties Include:

    • Clinical Handover:
    • Conduct morning handovers according to ISBAR procedure with the Shift Leader on the opposite shift.

    • Medication:
    • Manage medication administration to residents as per allocation.
    • Monitor scheduled drugs.
    • Conduct weekly drug checks.
    • Ensure blister packaged medication is available, checked, and signed by 2 Registered Nurses.
    • Manage adverse effects by contacting the doctor immediately for intervention and treatment orders.
    • Patient Nursing Care Plan:
    • Assess patients' health conditions, including vital signs, medical history, and symptoms.
    • Develop and implement nursing care plans with the Nursing Service Manager and Multidisciplinary Team.
    • Adjust care plans when required.
    • Clinical Tasks:
    • Perform clinical functions within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse, including wound care, pressure care, ostomy care, managing skin lesions, catheter care, and weighing patients.
    • Conduct regular resident rounds to monitor care quality.
    • Assess patients on specific areas of concern and adjust care plans as needed.
    • Ensure doctor's prescriptions and physio recommendations are implemented and included in care plans.
    • Consult with the Senior Nursing Service Manager regarding clinical concerns or quality of care issues.
    • Risk Management:
    • Maintain effective infection control practices.
    • Emergency and Incident Management 
    • Ensure all procedures are followed incase of an emergency or incident 

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • SANC registered as a Registered Nurse.
    • Up-to-date Basic Life Support certification is advantageous.
