    On-Site Service Specialist - Modderfontein

    Job Description

    You as an Onsite-Support Specialist will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Modderfontein,  South Africa. You will provide Desk Side Support to IT users, for all IT matters requiring physical intervention. You will be responsible for supporting incident resolution by engaging with other support teams/groups within IT. You will also act as a representative of IT organization and face to the customer on behalf of other IT functions. 

    Your responsibilities:

    • Troubleshoot issues throughout facility & with remote users along with:
    • Management of facility & factory network, servers, & hardware; liaison to IT vendors to ensure business continuity.  
    • Printers – manage supplies, provide troubleshooting, & coordinate with technicians 
    • Phones – assist end users with setup of mobile devices, including MFA, Wi-Fi, and email along with managing hardware and setup for internal Cisco phones. 
    • Accounts – manage use & upkeep of shared user accounts. 
    • Factory PCs – manage deployment of hardware and setup of various types of software. 
    • Network – assist with adding or modifying network connections & cabling. 
    • Hardware – assist & manage various cabling and peripherals for user workstations. 
    • Work with multiple teams on IS & IT needs for integration of new devices & machines. 
    • Provide documentation of issues, solutions, and potential problems 
    • Provide ad-hoc training to IT users on common IT matters and guide them through self-service tools if required.  
    • Take care of physical stock management of devices and accessories including CMDB updates 
    • Manage logistics by using local logistic providers to ship and move devices across locations 
    • Identify and report risks that might downgrade OSS service quality  
    • Provide support to end users, IT equipment, software in meeting rooms and similar user collaboration/common areas as part of desk-side support 
    • Host and support third party technicians 
    • Regular checks of computer rooms including temperature, air conditioning, cabling and general functionality  
    • Follow given OSS governance (participate in meetings, follow escalation path, etc.) 
    • Follow OSS procedures defined in Runbook, SOPs, knowledge articles Drivers license beneficial for this job role

    Your background

    • A university degree or completed an apprenticeship in the field of information technology.

    Business Development Manager (Transformers) - Industries & Renewables for Southern Africa - Modderfontein

    Job Description

    You as a Business Development Manager (Transformers) - Industries & Renewables for Southern Africa will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Johannesburg, South Africa. You will be responsible for planning and ensuring execution of Business Unit Transformers or Product Group sales strategy for, Renewable segment including solar PV, wind and Energy Storage to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for products and services in a profitable way. Responsible for leading and developing to exceed the sales targets through high performance to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be planning and ensuring execution of Business Unit Transformers or Product Group sales strategy for Industry segment including mining, Oil, Chemicals and Gas (OCG) and manufacturing to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for products and services in a profitable way. Responsible for leading and developing to exceed the sales targets through high performance in order to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

    Your responsibilities:

    • Creating, planning and implementing sales strategy, and strategic sales and business development initiatives, in alignment with global sales strategy. Achieves sales targets in respect of both budgets and sales efficiency.
    • Establishing sales targets and ensuring sales achievement through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed.
    • Identifying opportunities at existing and potential new customers within defined geographical area and determines plans for acquisition and allocates resources.
    • Coordinating the flow of information for sales activities and transactions, including leads, billings, orders, contracts, etc. and evaluates data to ensure achievement of goals. Monitors and provides reports to the Marketing and Sales organization on market intelligence. Works with the Business Line Market Managers to coordinate sales activities between the business lines and exploit synergies.
    • Supporting the development of strong relationships with key customers. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key decision makers. Ensures efficient marketing communications.
    • Ensuring achievement of sales volume and product mix targets by setting appropriate price and margin for sales. Participates on negotiations of key contracts. Manages ongoing costs.
    • Monitoring client financial status and reports any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams. Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels.
    • Taking ownership of the sales processes, and all relevant training and development plans, actions and programs.
    • Managing the strategic relationship with the direct end users, developers, EPCS and other role players in the industrial and renewable segment.  Propose recovery plans in case of potential order shortfalls.

    Your background

    • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 7 to 10 years of professional experience working with Sales, Marketing, or Product Management.
    • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
    • Renewables & Industrial Markets experience preferred.
    • Experience in dealing with the sales channel and/or sales representatives in the energy industry.
    • Recent experience in the critical infrastructure, energy, Transmission and Distribution industries, specifically with High and Medium Voltage equipment is preferred.
    • Knowledge of the Energy Market and experience working with transformers and/or related products is an asset.
    • Experience with Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms, General Contractors, Independent Power Producers (IPP), Utility Scale Energy Developers and Industry field is an asset.
    • Must have a technical mindset to build customer confidence in solutions to open doors and command respect when proposing solutions and support close the deal.
    • A profound sense of quality and a keen interest in complexities, a sense of urgency, and persistence in achieving goals. Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, leadership, and strong priority.
    • Ability to create and maintain partnership relations with internal and external collaborators (networking) as well as the ability to create a strong buy-in from the Sales Force and supply factories, to rally them to your objectives.
    • Experience in value-based and strategic selling to take the lead in high level sales engagements is an asset.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

    Job Description

    You as an Internal and External Communications manager, Middle East and Africa (MEA), (Open) will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Modderfontein, Gauteng, South Africa. You will be a part of the Middle East and Africa, South America and Korea communications team and report to Head of Communications, Middle East and Africa, South America and South Korea. 

    As regional responsible for Internal and External Communications Manager for Middle East and Africa, South America and Korea countries, you will be responsible for managing the brand reputation by ensuring that the brand identity is positioned strategically, consistently and in a timely manner in all relevant media channels. You will be responsible for elevating the image and reputation of the business with compelling thought leadership content and storytelling that resonates with key external audiences while aligning with corporate global messages. Your activity will be national/local, your mindset should be global.  

    Your responsibilities: 

    • Developing and implementing an integrated external media plan to advance the brand identity in the country that aligns with company strategy and messaging.  
    • Broadening awareness of the Business’ market leadership and increase the visibility of its products and services across key stakeholder audiences. 
    • Monitoring the external media and thought activities and strategies of competitors and stakeholders. 
    • Working closely with internal stakeholders to identify and develop compelling thought leadership stories, by text, pictures or video and/or finding other means of reaching the target groups. 
    • Managing communication media agencies. 
    • Proactively engaging with national, regional, business and stakeholders together with internal stakeholders  
    • Supporting key leaders in the country with thought leadership content, media guidance and engagement opportunities (train spokespeople); ensure key leaders receive media and crisis communications training. 
    • Working with the global team to create and manage announcements and other media activities; ensure global messages are localized.  
    • Planning, supporting, preparing and managing responses to positive and negative inquiries from externals sources – includes crisis and issue-related social media escalations and responses. 
    • Creating informative and interesting press releases, press kits, newsletters, launches, and related marketing materials. 
    • Responding to communication-related issues in a timely manner. 
    • Establishing an internal communications strategy, ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders. 
    • Developing and managing internal and external communications in alignment with business themes and country/regional priorities.  
    • Providing management guidance and develop business messages for key events such as industry conferences, tradeshows and employee meetings in line with corporate branding strategy as well as develop and manage relationships with media and other duties assigned by the line manager.

    • Cross cultural experience, be a people person. 
    • Worked on internal communications strategy.  
    • Understanding of digital communications channels and the power of social media 
    • Exceptional writing/editing and oral communication skills 
    • Solid experience to deal with media request, both mainstream as well as trades 
    • Proven track record in building strong thought leadership programs 
    • Proven experience to analyse and develop relevant metrics in dealing with different stakeholders internally and externally. 
    • Strong networking ability and multi-cultural credentials 
    • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure. 
    • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities. 
    • Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques. 
    • Nice to have: Business knowledge or at least industrial technology/capital equipment sectors.
