    Artisan - Millwright

    The Role

    • Provides technical support in mechanical maintenance. Maintains and improves machines and equipment to increase or maintain a high level of reliability, availability, cost efficiency and performance.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Mechanical maintenance operations.
    • Preventive maintenance, perform corrective actions, supports planning and preparation, monitors outcome, documentation (outcome, root cause, time, improvements).

    Sourcing Professional

    Role objectives: 

    • To do the planning and procurement of inventory, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager
    • The Sourcing Professional has the responsibility for the Processing and Management of the daily procurement activities informed by the MRP and Purchase Requisitions

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Relevant 3 Year University Degree or Diploma plus CIPS Qualification will be an advantage.
    • Previous experience as a Technical Buyer or Procurement Officer.
    • Computer literacy is essential. Proven ability to utilize and develop computerized spreadsheets and word processing applications.
    • Be able to communicate well, read & write in English.
    • Be able to work and cope well in a team.
    • Practical experience and knowledge ERP Software procurement modules essential.

    Key Responsibilities include the following: (not exclusively)

    • Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing.
    • Where applicable and relevant, draft appropriate service level agreements to properly evaluate the performance of suppliers, and report on this on a regular basis.
    • Work with internal stakeholders such as maintenance, operations, technical and financial staff to meet procurement objectives.
    • Responsible for order placement timing, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance
    • Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance, according to an appropriate Service Level requirement on a continuous basis.
    • Maintain and monitor standard costs on ERP system.
    • Develop sourcing strategies.
    • Cost saving budgeting and targeting.
    • Vendor administration, compliance with internal controls and good business practice
    • Payment terms negotiation, optimization, and management
    • Receive requisitions from various departments and order accordingly from best source considering pricing, quality and Leadtime requirements.
    • Initiate and keep track of orders.
    • Receive, inspect, and distribute orders.
    • Reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with supplies.
    • Monitor delivery times to ensure they are on time.

    Technical Buyer

    The job responsibilities:

    • Accountable for the successful completion of procurement functions 
    • End to end responsibility including Purchase Order placement, Purchase Order tracking from Supplier Acknowledgement to Delivery. 
    • Expediting urgent orders, resolving invoice discrepancies, data integrity maintenance and responding to sales teams’ queries.

    • Weekly expediting of all orders to avoid late deliveries.
    • Update Import Order Delivery Statuses.
    • Control the flow of import documentation from Carrier to Warehouse/Finance.

    Other Requirements & Competencies:​

    Field Service Technician

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Maintenance and Servicing Equipment.
    • Plan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to work procedures.
    • Commissioning of products that includes pre-delivery inspections and hot (operational and at customer site) commissioning.
    • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve common problems, as a first line support.
    • Identify components, understand basic functionality, and conduct maintenance and repair work accordingly.  This includes the provision of preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
    • Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by suggesting  possible improvements. (According to sales area requirements.)
    • Uses knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.
    • Understands system functionality and interactions of hydraulics/mechanics/electrics/automation/pneumatics/materials.
    • Complete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders e.g., report and document on maintenance and/or repairs completed. Obtain customer authorization to invoice.
    • Occasionally collect technical feedback in Sales Area (inputs into Database).
    • Assigns simple tasks to junior staff and guides them in completing them.
    • Coachs customer technicians on basic servicing and maintenance principles.
    • Ensures that routine work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

    Your profile

    • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
    • Section 13 or 26D Trade Certificate, accompanied with proof of apprenticeship.
    • Minimum 2-year experience in Trackless Mobile Machinery
    • Basic Computer literacy
    • English proficiency

    • Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment
