    Cashiers: Swimming Pool - Worcester

    Job Purpose: 

    • Performs tasks/activities associated with the receiving and receipting of payments for entry to the Swimming Pools by the public, reconciling total collection against receipts and preparing schedules for verification prior to forwarding cash for depositing.

    Duties:

    • Collect entrance money from the public to enter the swimming pool area; performing cash up activities on daily basis; Responsible for the safekeeping of monies received during the day; Adhere to complaints from the public and divert unsolved matters to the Caretaker/Assistant Caretaker; Render a help desk service to the Community and assist where possible.

    Requirements

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12.
    • 6 months relevant experience
    • Computer literate : MS Office
    • Good interpersonal and communications skills;

    Re - Senior Manager: Electro-Technical - Worcester

    Job Purpose: 

    • Responsible for strategic corporate decision making as member of the Strategic Management Team representing the Electrical Services Division
    • Strategically involved in devising new policies, decision making, financial and functional planning and operation of the Division
    • Strategic management in planning and coordinating key performance areas of Electrical Services Division.

    Duties:  

    • To provide a climate conducive to meet the objectives of the Electrical Services Division, and to ensure that Key Performance Areas are identified, objectives aligned, and appropriate procedures developed and implemented on approval to guide administrative and technical compliance
    • Ensure the functionality is positioned to deliver on strategic Electrical Services objectives
    • Ensure a quality, safe and sustainable supply of electricity to all consumers within the licensed area in the Municipality and within the framework of Council Policy and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Ensure financial planning and control within the Electrical Services Division and that accurate estimates are prepared in relation to requirements enabling the Division to contribute positively towards meeting operational and maintenance objectives and sustaining the quality and standards of sustainable service delivery

    Requirements
    Minimum Requirements:

    Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or B Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent (NQF Level 7)

    • Eligible for Professional Registration in terms of Act 46 of 2000, sec 18 (1)(a)(i) Professional Engineer or sec 18 (1)(a)(ii) Professional Engineer Technologist and must complete required professional registration within eight (8) months period from the date of appointment.
    • Certificate of Competency as Electrical Engineer in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 and the Regulations concerning the Certificate of Competency, 1990.
    • Seven (7) years relevant experience in a managerial position in Electrical Engineering and, including, a minimum of 3 years of working experience in the field of electrical engineering after obtaining a bachelor’s degree or B Tech Degree.
    • Computer Literacy: MS Office
    • Code B driver’s license
    • Must be able to communicate in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages in the Western Cape
    • Compliance with the National Treasury Regulations on the required Minimum Competency Level Unit Standards applicable to this position, or must complete the unit standards within an eighteen (18) months period from the date of appointment as provided for in GNR 1146 under GG 41996, dated 26 October 2018

    Foreman Stettynskloofdam - Western Cape

    Description

    • Job Purpose:  To co-ordinate activities whilst ensuring an effective and efficient control and monitoring at the Stettynskloof Dam and Treatment Works in compliance with the relevant legislation including the purification and quality control of the potable water.

    Duties: 

    • Supervise tasks/activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline
    • Ensure that the section functions effectively and manage operations the plant to its optimal performance Performs specific tasks/ activities at the dam and Treatment Works relating to water storage and purification
    • Fault finding, maintenance and repair works at plant
    • Perform maintenance and repair work at pumps, motors, valves, bulk flow meters and other infrastructure
    • Performs monthly dam inspections as per DWS regulations and monitor maintenance of dams

    • Coordinates and monitors the activities and operations of the Water Treatment Works
    • Ensure compliance with the prescribed drinking water standards and other related policies
    • Ensure optimal performance at the Stettynskloof water treatment works
    • Implement and coordinate risk-based water safety- and security planning and operational activities of the Water Treatment Works
    • Minimize any identified risks relating to potable water to ensure sustainable service delivery
    • Investigating and identify risk incidents associated with water quality, personal safety, plant safety, etc.
    • Ensure that all incidents are properly attend to.

    Requirements

    Traffic Officer - Worcester

    Description

    • Job Purpose: Performs activities/tasks associated with law enforcement, examination, testing and issuing of learner and driving licenses and road worthiness certification through the application of applicable legislation.

    Duties:

    • Enforce the relevant traffic legislation Direct, divert, stop and control the flow of traffic by means of various methods and hand signals to communicate with drivers and pedestrians
    • Patrolling and observing the streets and suburban areas and identifying with non-conforming practices (illegal parking, speeding, unsafe transporting etc.)
    • Assess traffic situations and incidents to determine the relevant course of action to ensure road safety
    • Set-up and perform routine checks, speed measuring equipment and enforcement of legislation
    • Attending to the documentation and notification procedures, serving of summons, compliance orders/notices
    • Executing warrants of arrests and preparing statements
    • Provide safety support when needed, to Anti Land Invasion team when they are dealing with removal of illegal structures
    • Assess possible impoundment of vehicles in line with traffic regulations
    • Escort and/or arrange towing facilities to transport the impounded vehicle to the traffic dept/SAPD.
    • Perform the necessary checks with the Assistant Superintendent needed for completion of the necessary documentation
    • Performing learners and drivers licensing testing in accordance with NRT Act  
    • Conduct vehicle inspections in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act of 1996 and SANS: 10047 – 2009 (Edition 6)
    • Supporting rescue teams with specific activities
    • Performs administrative duties in line with the Standard Operating Procedures  
    • Checking the oil, water, type pressure, fuel level, etc. of the designated vehicle and completing log sheets on daily basis
    • Wear PPE when performing duties Adheres to health and safety in terms of Council`s OHS policy.

    Requirements

    • Minimum Requirements: Grade 12. Traffic Officer Diploma. Grade A: Examiner of Drivers Licenses, Grade A: Examiner of Vehicles Certificate.  Valid Code A & EC Driver’s License. No criminal record. 2 years’ relevant experience.
    • Other Requirements: Proficiency in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape.
