    In Process Quality Controller

    Description

    • To ensure that all in-process sampling, testing and monitoring of in process product and finished goods is completed satisfactorily and on time. IPQC is  responsible for ensuring quality is built in a product by releasing good, quality product that meet quality parameters as per set specification per process and product. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor weights by using calibrated balances
    • Perform average fill mass testing, moisture testing, thickness determination and viscosity measurements of capsules/liquid fills Various visual inspection of item codes and packaging integrity where required
    • Perform moisture testing, disintegration tests, hardness, thickness and friability tests on tablets
    • Perform leak tests on blister sealed packaging components
    • Visual confirmation of packaging material stock codes, product batch number and expiry date coding and bulk descriptions.

    Requirements

    • Matric Certificate with Mathematics or at least Mathematics literacy
    • Computer literacy
    • Previous experience in production
    • GMP knowledge
    • In process quality control experience would be beneficial

    Visual Inspector

    Description

    • To perform troubleshooting and operate the Visual Inspection System, grade, wash, sort and polish softgel capsules in line with GMP standards against pre-determined rates.

    Responsibilities:

    • Operate the tumblers and ensure lint free cloths are placed in the tumblers during the tumbling process, resetting the HMI to resume the cycle Remove product from tumblers, drying trollies, decant into specified containers and label
    • Verify product identification and batch numbers on tumblers and trolleys
    • Wash capsules with solvents in a capsule washer as per schedule
    • Do pre-start-up checks on the Visual Inspection System including the metal detector tests
    • Continuously inspect all product in blue bins
    • Sort capsules manually on the sorting table to identify defective capsules
    • Record relevant data on MES
    • Dispose of rejected capsules according to SOP and track the weight of rejected capsules
    • Maintain housekeeping standards in the department
    • Inspect and clean all equipment in the Visual Inspection area, sorting area and ensure safety devices are working effectively
    • Label all containers and trollies to avoid cross contamination.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • 1-year previous experience in a FMCG or pharmaceutical environment
    • Previous experience in production documentation, reconciliation and processes is essential
    • Previous sorting experience would be desired
    • GMP  and basic knowledge of health and safety knowledge is essential.

    Packing Assistant

    Description

    • To assist the Packing Operator to ensure that all products are packed timeously on the assigned production . line according to the production plan while maintaining high quality and full SOP compliance.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Pack products according to specified instructions
    • Improve line output and minimize waste 
    • Ensure and maintain product quality by continually checking for defects, correct bulk, printing and packaging materials
    • Conduct quality in-process checks
    • Count and record the number of packs shrink wrapped on MES and in the shrink tunnel logbook
    • Move product to final product staging area for returns and reconciliation
    • Clean and collate all empty blue bins and submit to dedicated area at the end of each run
    • Timeously submit dirty blue bins
    • Clear, clean and sanitise equipment
    • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and safety in the department.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a production / manufacturing environment, preferably with FMCG background
    • GMP knowledge
    • Knowledge of health and safety
    • Knowledge of HACCP
    • Basic computer literacy.

    Operator / Setter

    Description

    • Perform various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and clean/sanitize machinery according toset standards to meet production KPI’s and adhering to HACCP and GMP principles.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Perform production tasks
    • Ensure and verify adequate materials and supplies are available at the right quality to complete operations
    • Accurate completion of production related paperwork
    • Perform production line opening and complete all relevant documentation
    • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of line equipment during operation to ensure efficient, quality production
    • Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production
    • Maintain OEE through maintenance, correct set up and minimizing changeovers
    • Maintain housekeeping and quality/ safety standards
    • Perform maintenance checks and troubleshooting generated
    • Set up accurately, maintain and troubleshoot machinery and process tooling.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 certificate, preferably with Maths
    • Technical N2 qualification is essential
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a GMP environment performing the relevant job
    • Technical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge
    • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP
    • Knowledge of health and safety 
    • Valid each Truck/Forklift Licence would be advantageous 
    • Previous experience in compression /coating machine operating sector would be advantageous 
    • Basic computer skills 
    • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools Above average accuracy, problem solving & time management skills

    Operators (Packing / Dry Goods / Softgels)

    Description

    • Perform various tasks to fit auxiliary equipment and operate, dispense, mix, monitor, troubleshoot and clean/sanitize  machinery according to set standards to meet production KPI’s

    Responsibilities: 

    • Ensure and verify adequate materials and supplies are available at the right quality to complete operations as per job requirement
    • Facilitate movement of raw materials to/from the required production area (raw material returns, or supply to machine) 
    • Perform line production prep for line opening processes and complete all relevant documentation 
    • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of line equipment during operation to ensure efficient, quality production with minimal unplanned stop 
    • Accurate completion of production related paperwork 
    • Adhere to quality and food safety standards
    • Perform minor maintenance checks and troubleshooting 
    • Set up machinery accurately 
    • Report defective equipment to the departmental supervisor 
    • Assist in movement of production waste to designated areas
    • Use the MES system according to set procedures
    • Ensure accurate production documentation is maintained
    • Maintain high standards of safety 
    • Ensure ultimate housekeeping and maintain a high standard of GMP in the departments. 

    Requirements

    • Grade 12, preferably with Maths
    • Previous Packaging/FMCG experience
    • At least 1 year experience in a GMP production environment performing the relevant (Operator) job
    • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP
    • Knowledge of health and safety
    • N2 relevant technical qualification & a valid Reach Truck/Forklift license will be advantageous 
    • Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous

    Production Planner

    Description

    • To ensure continuity of production by focusing on production and capacity planning for all departments that results in on time delivery, thus balancing plant efficiency and demand requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Production and capacity planning to maintain continuity of production and complete current build schedule demand on time and in full Coordinate between supply chain, quality, warehouse, and manufacturing personnel to ensure schedule optimization and on time delivery Conduct capacity calculations to convert production plans into materials resource plans (MRP’S)
    • Report, review and resolve all materials issues relating to production
    • Control inventory
    • Liaise with procurement to align raw materials with jobs so that orders are met
    • Minimize inventory write-offs of finished goods inventory, intermediates, and raw materials
    • Manage project actions relating to improvement projects

    E-Commerce Developer

    Description

    • To develop and support e-commerce platforms for the group of companies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain ecommerce websites using programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS
    • Create and manage databases to store customer and product information

    • Intensive knowledge of relevant legislation (HACCP, OSH Act, BCEA, EE and SD)
    • Extensive Project Management experience
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
    • Unwavering focus on delivering results and problem solving.
