    Senior Master Data Administrator

    Job Description

    • An exciting opportunity exists for a SENIOR MASTER DATA ADMINISTRATOR at AVI LTD, Bryanston, Johannesburg.  To oversee and maintain master data related information in terms of vendor master, customer master and material master. Enforcing the relevant database standards and ensuring high data integrity.

    Line Manager: Master Data Team Leader

    Number of Direct Reports: None 

    Key Performance Areas:

    Master Data Management (Materials, Vendors and Customers)

    • Accurate and ongoing creation and maintenance of Material Master(Finished Goods, Raw, Wrap, Traded and Engineering), Vendor Master and Customer Master data in SAP in accordance with the prescribed convention and internal procedures.
    • To provide monthly diagnostic reporting on Material Master, Vendor Master and Customer Master.
    • Advise and train users on the policies and procedures of Master data to ensure and facilitate compliance
    • Accurate maintenance and management of master data workflow process
    • Assist with any ad hoc tasks, initiatives or projects related to the management and improvement of master data.
    • Staying abreast of master data as a whole
    • New effective measures to streamline processes and assist business units
    • Ensure consistent accuracy of information by conducting monthly data integrity checks, based on risk areas, statutory compliance, coding convention and company policy
    • Achieve agreed customer service levels (MOU) on a consistent basis

    Project Involvement

    • Play a key role collecting, coordinating, and cleaning all master data for any new acquisitions and on boarding of new customers/vendors/materials
    • Preparing the master data upload files for integration onto SAP for the project team, ensuring consistency and accuracy, within the given timeframes and deadlines and in accordance with operational expectations
    • Keeping abreast with master data trends and improvement

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience:                                                                   

    • At least 4 years’ experience in SAP Master Data (Materials, Vendors and Customers)
    • A good understanding of the  SAP material, vendor and customer master fields, functionality and data requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum a completed Matric/Grade 12
    • A National Diploma or Degree in a relevant field of study would be highly advantageous 

    Additional Requirements:

    • Advanced MS excel
    • Working knowledge of MS word and MS outlook
    • SAP knowledge
    • Power BI
    • Basic knowledge of company statutory documentation for the onboarding and maintenance of customers and vendors
    • Ensure workflow approvals are completed in the absence of the team leader
    • Required to travel to sites when necessary

    • Assess line trials at factory level with focus on line performance and cost efficiency.
    • Review packaging material usages.

    What It Takes to Succeed:

    Experience that set you up for success:  

    • A minimum of 3 years Technical Packaging experience within the food manufacturing industry or FMCG.

    Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

    • Diploma/BTech/ Degree in Food or Engineering Sciences is essential.
    • Completed IPSA Packaging qualification is essential.

    Skills and knowledge:

    Commercial Accountant

    • Maintain Promo Mandates in SAP, ensuring pricing and promotional information is accurately captured and maintained.

    Budgets and P&L’s

    • Load quarterly Sales Budgets into SAP accurately and within agreed timelines.
    • Perform Marketing P&L calculations and provide supporting financial analysis as required.

    Relationship Management

    • Foster strong and collaborative relationships with Commercial teams to facilitate effective communication and financial support.

    Financial Administrator - Manufacturing

    • Your Next Career Move Starts Here! Join our NBL Westmead Biscuits in Westmead, Durban as a Financial Administrator – Production  and play a key role in ensuring that all data is captured on SAP and that it is accurately and timeously performed to consume all materials; capturing all brokens and rejects daily to ascertain performance; daily capturing and analyses of waste, including preparation of monthly waste files and trackers – cumulatively and by SKU. High-volume Process Orders management, Financial Accounting journals and reconciliations, Time and Attendance administration on BesTime.

    Reporting Structure:

    • Reports to: Finance Manager
    • Direct Reports: 0

    Key Areas of Impact:

    Management of very-high volume Process Orders – Daily/Weekly/Monthly

    • Analyse and Compute quantities of Raw Materials and Packaging, make decisions on usage and resource allocations and apply to final Production
    • Daily clearing and release Goods from COGI- ensure that investigations are carried for any problematic materials. Make decisions for the allocation of the problematic materials. Important exercise to ensure no abnormal usage of materials.

    Process Variance Analyses

    • Prepare the Excel templates which allow for the execution of the weekly Cycle-Count vs SAP differences on the SAP system, including the investigation of significant variances (true-up process)

    True Up Process

    • Manage the True Up Process by ensuring that other departments carry out their duties as expected of them
    • Collect and Analyse Data (i.e. True Up Count Sheets)
    • Request re-counts from Production Managers if there are any noticeable errors in Counts
    • Assist the Cost Accountant in preparing documents for Auditors

    Waste Register

    • Effectively Manage and Maintain the Waste Register (Weekly, MTD, YTD)
    • Collect, analyse and compute Waste Data and make calculated decisions for explanations of Waste where relevant, by comparing and contrasting Waste Variances to Process Variances.
    • Prepare the Waste Register Spreadsheet on excel

    Inventory Control
