    Senior DevOps Engineer - Cape Town

    What does the job entail?

    • Architecting and designing infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly-available infrastructure solutions. This includes: AWS; virtualization; containers (Docker): and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
    • CI/CD Pipeline management: Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and automated software deployments. This includes: integration testing; monitoring; and security practices into the pipeline\
    • Automation and configuration management: Create and manage automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, configuration, and provisioning processes — leveraging tools like Terraform and Ansible to define and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enabling version control and reproducibility
    • Monitoring and performance optimisation: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, system failures, and security vulnerabilities. And analyse metrics to optimise infrastructure and application performance.\
    • Security and compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of the infrastructure, applications, and data by implementing best practices for security hardening, access controls, and regular audits
    • Troubleshooting and incident response: Quickly diagnose and resolve issues related to deployments, infrastructure, and performance. And contribute to incident response and disaster recovery plans
    • Collaboration with the Development Team: Work closely with the Development Team to understand application requirements, optimise development workflows, and provide guidance on best practices for deploying and maintaining application

    What are the requirements?

    • You’ll need to have had 8+ years’ experience as a DevOps engineer
    • With at least 2 years leading and managing others
    • A world-class CV that demonstrates the level of skill and experience required for this role

    You’ll need to show these specific skills:

    • Working as a Linux system administrator
    • Setting up and tuning services such as apache and nginx for high throughput
    • Working with Containers and Kubernetes
    • Package Updates / Keeping systems up to date
    • Monitoring system performance
    • Knowledge in Bash Scripting
    • AWS CodeDeploy/CodeBuildr or similar CI/CD pipelines
    • Understand and develop configuration management tooling, such as Ansible and Terraform for IaC
    • Knowledge of working with IaaS solutions (AWS preferred) and be able to translate on-premise knowledge to cloud based solutions
    • An LPIC / RHCSA / or similar Linux qualification would be beneficial
    • A tertiary qualification in Computer Sciences or similar would be beneficial

    Marketing Production Co-ordinator

    Yuppiechef is looking for a highly organised and engaging co-ordinator in our Marketing team, to oversee our in-store communication and production. You’ll need to be able to write clear briefs, balance timelines for many campaigns in parallel, and build relationships quickly. You’ll be responsible for collaborating with our designers on new store marketing elements, planning production timelines with our print partners, and working with our store teams to make sure that campaigns are implemented as intended. 

    The role will report into the Marketing Manager, and is based from our offices in Westlake, Cape Town.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Writing briefs and co-ordinating the production, delivery and installation of print elements for store-only campaigns 
    • Being the key contact with our print partners for all production campaigns, and keeping all campaign stakeholders aware of timeline changes
    • Reviewing new printers, plus proposing samples and quotes for new print substrates, and negotiating for better rates
    • Co-ordinating mock-up window installations for internal review
    • Working closely with our Visual Merchandising and store teams to ensure that all store campaigns are implemented to brief, and collating feedback on how campaigns worked in reality 
    • Tracking, controlling and reporting on spend against the production budgets
    • Keeping in touch with the marketing teams from our landlord malls about local media opportunities
    • Getting new designs of our famous magnets and cards printed and out into the world, and keeping track of their stock levels and distribution

    Marketing Manager - Cape Town

    Yuppiechef is looking for a strategic and commercially astute marketing manager, to oversee income-generating campaigns for our broad and expanding product range. You’ll drive growth in key categories, and will work with your team to ensure the most impactful use of our owned channels, trading off competing business priorities against each other.

    The role reports into the Head of Marketing, has two direct reports, is based from our offices in Westlake, Cape Town.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Working with your team and our internal creative team to conceive and implement omnichannel promotions that grow categories, launch new product offerings, build product brands and help meet our business objectives
    • Strategically guiding the growth and profitability of supplier-paid marketing campaigns by building and selling win-win campaigns
    • Owning and continuously optimising the productivity and efficiency of our newsletter and on-site communication, considering content, templates, systems, process and impact
    • Working closely with the Buying and Planning teams on prioritising the marketing support given to new listings, exclusive brands and different category strategies
    • Co-ordinating regular analysis of campaign performance, and sharing learnings and insights within Marketing and across teams for future improvements

    Attributes we’re looking for:

    • Keen numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly find insights from data to guide confident, consistent and calm decision-making
    • Quick to build trusting, professional relationships across teams and suppliers, and collaborate smoothly and productively
    • Strong communication, briefing and presentation abilities
    • Technologically confident in finding new more efficient ways of doing things - Airtable and AWS QuickSight skills are a plus
    • Familiarity with digital marketing performance metrics

    • Ensuring that the process of receiving stock from suppliers is seamless and any issues promptly resolved.
    • Liaising closely with various internal teams
    • General operational problem-solving
    • Ensuring that all administration for the planning process is maintained to Yuppiechef standards

     Does this describe you?

    • Strong numerical skills 
    • Basic understanding of finance and invoices or billing processes
    • Strong computer skills with familiarity working with data and data structures. High familiarity with the functions of Excel and the google suite.

    What you’ll do

    You will be responsible for getting the right stock at the right store at the right time for both retail and e-commerce store locations. This will involve collaborating across multiple business units to showcase and manage stock levels of our extensive product range.

    Your areas of responsibility 

    • Calculate stock needed for successful marketing campaigns (online and in stores)
    • Optimizing flow of stock and inventory turn in your category 
    • Work closely with category buyers on season strategy incorporating reviews of past category/concept performance, agree on investment for the future
    • Forecasting and ordering stock needed for expected sales and managing overstocks, should sales not happen as planned
    • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships and communicate effectively with suppliers  and internal team members
    • Compiling and analysing reports on product performance.  Recommending actions based on data reported. 
    • Ensure SLA’s are confirmed with internal and key suppliers

    What experience and skills you need for the role

    This role is best suited for an innovative, organised, proactive problem-solver with the following skills;

    • 3-5 years working in an Inventory or Merchandise Planning role
    • A high degree of numeracy and an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial thinking
    • Strong affiliation to systems and utilising them to increase productivity in line with the  Planning Strategy
    • Good organisational and interpersonal skills
