    CNC Programmer I - Germiston

    Job Overview

    • ​​​​​​Discover the root causes of failed components as received in the factory from customers

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Collaboratively work with the Service, Engineering, Quality, Warranty and Manufacturing Departments to:
    • Discover the root causes of failed components as received in the factory from customers
    • Determine teardown methods and data collection methods during teardown operations
    • Compile and ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the data used for any Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
    • Produce clear and accurate RCA Reports to include, but not limited to, methodology, sample size and source of data
    • Assist in developing appropriate solutions based on analysis
    • Compile and track all actions from RCA’s, including coordination of post implementation reviews of the mitigating actions to validate their effectiveness
    • Use appropriate methods to establish the cause of the problem and recommend corrective actions to rectify the issue including preventative solutions and assist in systematically preventing future issues
    • Work in collaboration with Reliability Engineering and Engineering to develop, maintain and improve standardized RCA forms, reports, databases and processes
    • Develop weekly and monthly KPI reports which include the number of RCA’s performed, component failure trends, typical failure modes etc.
    • Conduct trend analysis to identify and highlight any recurring themes
    • Operate within the established KMC RCA practices and continuously review to ensure practices remain fit for purpose
    • Own and maintain RCA databases, coordinating updates and ensuring accurate auditability of all actions identified through RCA’s
    • Basic knowledge of the vibration analysis software, must be able to create new data routes and move data around in the data base

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
    • Computer literacy with experience in SAP, Sales Force, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
    • 3-5 years manufacturing experience

    • Ensure Customer machines are operational as per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standard requirements and drawings

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Ensure Customer machines are operational as per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standard requirements and drawings
    • Assemble gearcase components according to work instruction
    • Dis-assemble gearcase components according to the work instruction/scope of work.
    • Take oil sample on all unit before dis-assembly.
    • Be proactive and abide by policies and procedures of the company, particularly the Health & Safety and quality processes and maintain a Zero harm culture
    • 6S (Safety, Shine, Set, Sort, Standardize and sustain) – maintain the work area, tool cupboards, tools, etc. in a clean coordinated and controlled manner
    • Promote continuous improvements by identifying and facilitating the implementation of new ideas, processes and/or methods, by reporting it to the foreman.
    • Ensure correct and applicable use of and proper control of personnel protective equipment (PPE)
    • Assemble subs & machinery according to works instruction within the required schedule and as per the scope of work.
    • Maintain lifting equipment in good working condition and according to standard and procedures
    • Record all serial numbers and specifications on data packs
    • Sign off all torque values and procedures in the work data packs

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Qualified Mechanical Fitter
    • Knowledge of JOY equipment.
    • Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and use of measuring equipment
