Refrigeration Technician

• We are recruiting for a skilled and detailed Refrigeration Technician to join a manufacturing company located in Blackheath in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate must come with at least 5 years’ hands-on experience in refrigeration and should encompass strong fault-finding skills.

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualification in Refrigeration Technology at NQF 6 Level or a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with strong fault-finding skills.
• Experienced in designing and applying refrigeration systems.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Technical Requirements:  

• Proficient in computer skills, particularly MS Excel.
• Holds a valid SAQCC Authorised Practitioner's card (Category C-Inspector).
• Preferably has 2 years of experience in CO2 Trans critical system installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

 
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide customer and on-site support as required for end users.
• Lead and manage certain project warranty processes and supplier warranty claims.
• Offer ongoing technical support.
• Constantly evaluate opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce cost while improving quality and longevity.
• Develop technical specifications documentation.
• Provide technical assistance to the Spares Department.
• Design new optimised versions of products in the existing product portfolio for continuous improvement.
• Assist management by providing technical solutions and quotations as required.
• Prepare engineering instructions, technical manuals, and laboratory tests.
• Supervise the commissioning of new control systems on display cabinets.
• Source cost-efficient components and materials.
• Responsible for assisting the Sales Team with technical information.
• Requisition special bought-out components that are not in stock.
• Assist with Engineering Change Procedures and Engineering instructions.
• Manage and maintain the test laboratory.
• Process, interpret, and organise test data to compile test reports.
• Design and enhance refrigeration systems and components.
• Ensure swift and efficient product qualification.
• Manage site testing and data logging programs.
• Manage and maintain test equipment.
• Lead new Research and Development projects.
• Assist with refrigeration design for new products.
• Conduct compressor, liquid line component, and controller selections.
• Manage setup parameters of refrigeration products.
• Manage the technical database for products.
• Liaise with consulting Engineers and attend site meetings as required.
• Collaborate with refrigeration contractors and provide appropriate technical solutions.
• Build strong relationships with contractor partners and offer technical support and training as needed.

Design Draughtsman

• We are recruiting for a Design Draughtsman for a manufacturing company that will be based in Blackheath, Cape Town. The ideal candidate should have Autodesk Inventor experience.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Essential: Relevant 3D Drafting tertiary qualification. 
• Proven experience working with AutoCAD and CAD.
• Experience working with Autodesk Inventor.
• Essential: Valid Driver’s License.  

Duties and responsibilities: 

• Responsible for generating part models, assemblies and bending drawings.
• Required to create bills of materials. 
• Gather wiring diagrams from the Electrical Engineer. 
• Place orders for sheet metal from the Machine Shop. 
• Source for cost efficient components and materials. 
• Support with illustrations and renderings for marketing and instructional material. 
• Generate for flat patterns in AutoCAD and CAM uses and assembly drawings as well as instructions.
• Submit an application for special bought out components that are not in stock.
• Lead new product design projects and provide designs for the manufacturer.
• Complete technical data and drawings for the Sales Department.
• Make use of the CAD systems to develop detailed 3D product designs.
• Promote the use of common parts and modularity to minimise the number of part numbers.
• Conduct research and development of new products to be added to the product scope. 
• Required to design new optimized versions of products in the existing product portfolio. 
• Minimise cost of the manufacture through value engineering projects.
• Responsible for creating general arrangement drawings for the factory and customers.
• Help in optimisation of product design in existing product portfolio. 
• Responsible for standardising designs and processes.
• Implement document and standardise process as well as process improvements and lead continuous improvement processes.
• Find process improvement projects.
