Description
- Position available in Ethekwini, Umgungundlovu, Uthukela and Harry Gwala District
Key Performance
- Keep the Vehicles, Mobile clinics and Trailers always clean
- Keep track on the vehicle date of service and ensure RTC Management is informed in advance when the service date is approaching
- Reporting vehicle maintenance problems in a timely fashion
- Ensure vehicle inspection is done daily and weekly by line manager
- Report vehicle accidents immediately to supervisor and to insurance
- Keep track of renewal dates for registration and vehicle license and ensure RTC Management is informed about deadlines at least one month in advance
- Keep accurate log-book before leaving and parking of the unit at the end of the day
- Always adhere to the vehicle policy
- Adhere to the rules of the road
- Ensure that the vehicle is always parked over night at an approved location
- Pull the Mobile to designated areas of work
- Assist in opening/setting up of the Mobile during outreach
- Maintain cleanliness of the Mobile
- Reporting Mobile maintenance problems in a timely fashion
Report vehicle accidents immediately to supervisor and to insurance
- Always conduct yourself in a professional manner
- Ensure you don’t involve yourself in road rage
Always ensure punctuality
- Impart accurate knowledge to patients on preventative options that include medical male circumcision to help ensure that potential patient can make an informed decision about VMMC.
- Answer patient’s questions on HIV/AIDS and VMMC
- Engage potential patients professionally to establish consistent male health reproductive health and prevention messages.
- Conduct community-based small group and one-on-one education sessions about VMMC with the goal of identifying interested clients
- Assist demand creation teams with transport and other demand creation resources
- Recruit potential clients for VMMC
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Code EC or C1 driver's license
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- 2 years' experience as a driver
Minimum experience
- 2 years’ experience as a driver
- 2 years’ experience in pulling a Caravan/Trailer
- Ability to comprehend instruction
- Community mobilisation
Desired experience
- 1 year experience in organising and overseeing health promotion activities various cultural-specific contexts. Excellent written and verbal communication in English and local vernaculars.
