Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Must be able to do basic mathematical calculations to ensure correct process parameters
- Accurate setup, adjustments, operation and maintenance of machinery/stands/ mechanism in the production line process
- Conduct daily inspection of relevant work area and report possible failures or unsafe working conditions
- Maintain standard machine operating procedures when operating machinery
- General maintenance and cleaning of the work area/workstation you are responsible for
- Must enforce and practice housekeeping policies
- Effectively monitor production process
- Ability to analyze potential failures and communicate accordingly with possible solutions in a timeous manner
- Ensure shift handover is conducted thoroughly and that all issues are reported clearly on a daily basis
- Abiding by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act and Company policies
- Quality control according to set standards
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) as per tasks assigned
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
- Matric (Maths Compulsory)
- Diploma or studying towards a qualification in Engineering
- Computer Literate
- Strong knowledge of machinery
- Ability to detect machine discrepancies
- Previous experience operating FEL / Forklift / Grab advantageous
- Experience working in the steel industry advantageous
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
- Willingness to work overtime and SHIFTS

The Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Conducting mechanical inspections on all production machinery when required
- Compliance and adherence to the Company in-house maintenance program and procedures
- Responsible for conducting routine planned and preventative maintenance
- Hydraulic systems (leaks repairs, Filter change outs)
- Conveyor belts, drives, pulleys and replacement of rollers
- Lubrication tasks
- V-belts replacements
- General housekeeping
- Attend breakdowns when required on all Production machinery
- Fault finding on hydraulic systems
- Assembly and pressure testing of hydraulic cylinders
- Servicing of various hydraulic components
- Provide coaching to semi-skilled staff
- Adhering to the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Qualifying Criteria:
- Qualified Fitter Artisan (Red Seal certification)
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a heavy industry or similar environment
- Code 14 Drivers License and valid PDP would be advantageous
- Must be physical fit and able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Strong Hydraulic background will be an advantage

JOB DESCRIPTION
- The Administrator’s primary purpose is to provide administrative and office support to the scrap metal buying team. This person must have extensive experience in a range of administrative functions, and will be expected to manage a large workload.
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE
- University degree or tertiary qualification recommended
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office – Advance Excel knowledge
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)
- Manage timesheet and attendance records.
- Ensure that correct standard operating procedures are adhered to.
- Maintain accurate transport administrative reports.
- Ensure that vehicles have necessary valid licenses & Permits.
- Regular check the SA Metal Fleet for the department, identify faults and ensure that it is resolved in order to archive maximum results.
- Identifying the need for preventative maintenance of the vehicles within the department.
- Liase with Satellite Branch Managers to co-ordinate loading of scrap.
- Arrange all Ferrous deliveries from various foundries.
- Arrange all Non-Ferrous deliveries for SA Metal Group and Customers to and from Gauteng.
- Attends meetings.
- Facilitates Health & Safety Toolbox Talks.
- Induct/ Train all new drivers on the Standard Operating procedures.
- PPE – Ensure that all PPE regulations are adhered to before work begins.
- Adheres to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department.
- Ensure that general housekeeping is attended to.
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- 2 – 5 years supervisory experience
