Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to perform various functions that would include:
- Teaching five modules per term
- Quality Assurance of the delivery of a portfolio of modules and their associated part-time educators by building a community of practice to support educators
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to assist Learning Designers and Curriculum Developers
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of campus culture amongst part-time educators.
- Be an active member of the Research and Ethics Committee
The role will report directly to the Head of Learning and Teaching: Physical Campuses.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum qualification of a Master’s degree in Psychology with professional registration with the HPCSA
- A PhD, or working towards one will be an advantage
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Higher Education, particularly within a blended-learning context
- Technologically savvy
- Strong academic writing skills
- Experience with curriculum development

Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide individual and/or group counselling (including crisis intervention / debriefing) to students in need of mental health support
- Acting as a point of contact for all student wellness support and development needs
- Take on a lead role in student wellness and mental health awareness campaigns and projects
- Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
- Involved in termly orientation per new cohort
- Develop and implement mental health outreach initiatives, including workshops, group sessions, and community events, to promote mental health and wellness among students
- Tracking and documenting national student wellness support and development metrics
- Study plans and career guidance
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement policies and programs that support student well-being and promote a healthy campus environment. Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions with students, including progress notes and treatment plans
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in mental health counselling and wellness promotion
- Utilising SACAP’s Student Management System to provide expert guidance to SACAP students
- May act as site coordinator to student counsellors completing their practicum / Work Integrated Learning hours
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of a degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology or Coaching; or at least 5-years’ experience in a cognate field with high academic results
- Registered Counsellor with HPCSA
- Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
- 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education
- Knowledgeable and passionate about SACAP and its offerings
- Highly developed relationship building / interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
