The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the business in using applications and services, and contributes to maintaining and operating our end user and onsite services. The IT Support Specialist will provide support either remotely (e.g. Service Desk, User Administration, User Requests) or locally (Factory Support, Desk Side Support).
The Support Specialist IT will be involved mainly in:
Incident management.
Request management.
Change management.
Reporting: This position will report to IT Manager IOS EMEA South Africa.
Job Objectives:
- Work within the guidelines and routines defined for the product or assignment.
- Work to ensure relevant KPI/PI’s goals for the team they are working with are met for the product or assignment.
- Escalate cases to other support functions when necessary.
- Perform incident resolutions and request fulfilments.
- Contribute to the identification and escalation of problems in supported services and solutions.
- Contribute to knowledge management and the documentation of errors and known work arounds.
- Follow the requirements concerning Information Security described in Volvo’s Security Handbook.
- Utilise and contribute to Volvo’s Knowledge Management System.
- Documentation skills would highly advantageous i.e., creation of how-to and operational documents.
- Provide high level support with regards to IT support, back up to the technical staff.
User training or guidance with regards to IT implementations, IT Roadshows and where identified;
- Assist with IT solutions when it comes to IT installations, Microsoft Teams Rooms setup, proposals of new solutions for small to medium sized IT and/or technology projects.
- Vendor management engaging on solution offering, SLA managements and evaluations for the following areas of telephony, mobile devices and printers.
- Management of the mobile contracts; spend, data, stock control, user management and contract revisions.
Qualifications & Job Experience:
- 5 years in an operational IT environment.
- ITIL knowledge and understanding. Foundation qualification would be an advantage.
- Power platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, data management) would be an advantage.
- Windows 10.
- Deal with third party supplies on external supported products.
- Azure foundation qualification (AZ900) – can be attained once appointed.

- Support experience in the most common services and solutions provided by Group IT.
- Experience interacting with end user.
- Planning, scheduling and monitoring own work within short time-line.

- Interpret and implement information in Volvo Manual and Service Literature.
- By following directives provided in Workshop Manuals, produce work of Volvo acceptable standards.
- Follow repair, maintenance instructions and specifications as per the manual.
- Ensure excellence in customer service delivery through meticulously following procedures/processes.
- Provide comprehensive and accurate reports on diagnosis, assessment of component/part, failures, observations, actions and recommendations.
Follow procedures for breakdown work:
- Liaise with driver before responding to customer breakdowns;
- Ensure the correct documentation is in place and accurately completed before submission.
- Compliance to ISO 9001 and other Safety standards.
Qualifications & Job Experience:
- Matric/N3.
- Trade Test Certificate - Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
- 3 years Dealership experience in maintenance and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles.

The main purpose of the job is to support the functional and operational areas of the Aftersales business for the Region thus ensuring business development in the best possible way with the primary focus being CSI and profitability.
To ensure common processes throughout the region and to integrate the region with the entire Volvo Group Southern African business via close interaction with other regional managers, aftermarket and business control.
To build and maintain good relationships with customers and prospective customers.
To promote and seek opportunities for the Aftersales business with a view on increasing the current level of business and capture incremental business for the Region.
Reporting: The position will report to the Regional Manager (Northern Region).
Job Objectives:
Parts , Workshop and New Truck Sales.
- Support the Region in ensuring that the highest level of customer service to all customers.
- To promote the Service and Parts Departments in the most effective and profitable manner.
- Monitor daily holdups in the workshops and speed of turnaround and highlight support requirements immediately.
- Ensure customer queries are actioned timeously in relevant departments.
- Promote the sale of parts, workshop hours and other soft products throughout the region.
- Ensure correct levels of Aftersales support to all customers.
- To schedule and coordinate regular customer meetings regionally wherever and whenever necessary in order to present a unified Volvo offering to the customers in line with the Commercial Crew Concept
- Consistently monitor CSI and address areas for improvement.
- Act as a liaison between the branch, aftermarket (h/o) and the customer.
- Monitor outstanding campaigns and address with the relevant branches.
- Support Aftermarket (H/O) requirements that is required.
- Support, from an aftermarket perspective, the new and used truck sales organization where necessary as part of the Commercial Crew.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years industry experience preferably from within a commercial truck environment.
- Business diploma and technical qualification.

- Current Fleet Size of each customer.
- Split between Volvo and other brands.
- Age of vehicles in the fleet.
- Current mileages.
- Replacement cycle.
- How many vehicles are still under warranty and have service contracts.
- Confirm if the customer does self-servicing.
- Confirm if customer use genuine Volvo parts on all vehicles and whether under warranty or not.
- Check what alternative (pirate) are purchased and why.
- What we can offer as a total one stop offering so that 100% of his Volvo business is through us.
