    Learning Resources and Centres Lead - Tyger Valley

    Job Advert Summary

    • Eduvos is looking to employ the services of a Learning Resources and Centres Lead at our Claremont (Tyger Valley) campus.

    The Position:

    • To manage the campus resource centre.

    Minimum Requirements
    Minimum qualification:

    • BA Library/ B.BiBL Information Science degree or Diploma
    • Relevant Post Graduate qualification will be an advantage
    • Registration with LIASA will be an advantage

    Experience:

    • At least two to five years’ relevant experience in the higher education sector

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Responsibilities:

    As the Learning and Resource Centre Lead, you will be primarily responsible for the following:

    • Collection Development
      • Build a collection to support the academic goals of the programmes
      • Ensure that all prescribed and recommended resources (e.g. journals, books, newspapers) are available – student and lecturer resources
      • Review stock on hand and determine what stock is needed
      • Obtain quotes for required stock
      • Prioritise stock in collaboration with Academic Manager and relevant lectures based on budget and need
      • Review old stock for selling/donation
      • Co-ordinates, prepares and motivates/ makes recommendations for annual Resource Centre budget and submits to General Manager
    • Technical processing of material according to Eduvos process
      • Add holding (already catalogued stock) and items to the library system
      • Label and classify books
      • Cataloguing of campus stock
    • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Resource Centre
      • Manage and control facility (study rooms), computer usage
      • Provide a space for students to join virtual workshops and webinars
      • Assist with managing all auxiliary services such as the use of the printer and computers
      • Refer students to the relevant stakeholder when queries are received
      • Issue and return books using the LIS (ALMA)
      • Pull up report of patrons’ overdue book records and follow up on their returns
      • Pull up and send out reports of overdue fines of students to the finance department at the end of the year
      • Offering online support (myLMS) to end-users
    • Reporting and maintenance of administrative records
      • Conduct bi-annual stocktaking and compile a report
      • Prepare and provide Bi-weekly reports to the National Resource center Manager
      • Provide feedback to the Academic Manager on all Resource Center related issues
    • Induction and training of users
      • Facilitate the Resource Center Induction and orientation of all new students, and general and academic staff
      • Market the resource center, its databases, Open Access Resources, information Literacy course and the online catalogue to all students and Academic staff
      • Train students, Academic staff on how to use the Information databases and online catalogue
      • Provide guidance to students on methods to use to enable them to do information searches for research and accessing the information required
    • Provision of Information Services and User Information (Library)
      • Support students and academic staff with necessary information resource requirements
      • Communicate all library activities to users

    IS Hardware Lecturer - Claremont

    Purpose:

    • To lecture Information Technology-related modules, in the faculty on a full-time basis.
    • To assist in the administration and departmental affairs and activities as required by the academic department.

    Minimum Requirements
    Minimum qualifications required:

    • BSc Information Technology or a similar degree (NQF level 7 or above) within the field
    • Focus on Hardware / Networking / Security / Cyber Security related studies

    Experience:

    • 1 - 2 years or relevant lecturing experience advantageous

    Credit Control Manager

    Purpose of the Role:

    • To reduce Eduvos debt through the management of the national credit control team and other stakeholders

    Minimum Requirements

    • Undergraduate qualification in finance or commercial law
    • At least five years’ experience in a debt collection management role

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Accountable for the performance of the debt collection function in Eduvos
    • Debt strategy rollout and implementation – planning, scheduling, monitoring, control, corrective action
    • Reporting - regarding all aspects related to the debt collection function
    • Collaborate effectively with all finance departments, as well as functional departments and external service providers
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders for resolution of queries
    • Feedback to stakeholders on outcome
    • Resourcing and capacity management – ensure sufficient debt collection capacity to deliver the required outcomes - people, facilities, and equipme

    • To support all the academic administration functions (including assessment administration, recordkeeping of student data, enrolment functions, etc.) at the campus.

    Minimum qualification:
