    Regional Product Line Manager Pumps-1

    Purpose of the role

    Provide expert knowledge and support for the pump product line, from a process, mechanical, operational, maintenance and R&D perspective. Increase market share by pursuing new market opportunities and promote the retention of aftermarket business within the region. Continuously improve the technical competence of colleagues and customers within the region through training activities, technical papers, etc.

    Your responsibilities

    Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Serve as the pump product expert in the region.
    • Participate in the development of go to market strategies.
    • Work with the regional sales teams to promote the pump product/services in the region to all relevant customers.
    • Work with global product line managers (GPLM), global service line managers (GSLM), product sales, and internal sales support to develop winning proposals.
    • Provide pump training and guidance to customers, sales, and field service.
    • Travel with sales to customer sites and engineering firms to troubleshoot, consult on system design, support start-ups as necessary, and ensure proper aftermarket support is in place, including warranty/quality issue resolution.
    • Provides won/lost reporting and customer feedback to GPLMs including regional market intelligence, competition activities etc.
    • Participate in pump product design, improvement opportunities, and new product development with GPLM/GSLM.
    • Drives testing for customers in region with GPLM/GSLM.
    • Support the launch of new pump products/services in region in collaboration with others.

    What you bring

    • NHD, BSC or B-Eng in Engineering.
    • At least 12 years’ experience within the mining & mineral processing industry.
    • At least 8 years’ experience in the pump product line.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a business development role.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages, spoken by Customers in the region, will be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of pump selection, sizing, and operating parameters.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Proven negotiation and influencing skills – both external and internal.
    • Team player, able to balance multiple team memberships.                 
    • Good organization, multitasking and time management skills

    Purpose of the role

    To ensure that accurate binning, picking, receiving, and packing of the FLSmidth product is being successfully executed accordingly to standard operating procedures

    Key performance areas:

    • Reading and interpreting pick and pack slips to ensure speedy quality delivery to KREBS customers.
    • Set up and or operate hand and electrical tools.
    • Regularly inspect equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
    • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and adhered to at all times.
    • The ability to interact with team members and management.
    • Assist the department manager achieving departmental goals and objectives.
    • Attend to all meetings as scheduled by the company and department.

    Requirements:

    • At least 5 years in a relevant fast past environment.
    • Matric.
    • Computer literate
    • Forklift license will be an advantage.
    • Must be willing to work overtime.
    • Crane license will be an advantage
    • Good computer skills.
    • Good communication skills in English.
    • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks as needed, coupled with good planning capabilities.
    • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
    • The ability to work with minimum supervision but under extreme pressure and be prepared to work extended hours.
    • Declared Physical fit to handle heavy-duty e.g. lifting up to 25kg regularly and 45 kg occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, and manual dexterity.

    Purpose of the role

    • Supports health, safety and environmental aspects at operational work level, to ensure compliance to legislation, FLSmidth HSE and client requirements.

    Your responsibilities
    Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensure Company prescribed HSE KPI’s are met.
    • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
    • Ensure compliance to the clients Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Initiate, coordinate and manage all the safety, health & environmental assurance related tasks.
    • Maintain summary records of all Health &Safety equipment, certifications and equipment inspections.
    • Ensure that all relevant certificates including calibration records are kept up to date.
    • Ensure HSE training and inductions are completed.
    • Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure employee safety and environmental protection of flora and fauna

    • Ensure that all incidents/accidents are investigated, documented and recommendations are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
    • Address all workplace injury compensation related matters followed up with the relevant appointed authority.
    • Advice on statutory, legal compliance and best practices and applications.
    • Promote HSE awareness amongst all employees.
    • Arrange and coordinate fire and emergency drills.
    • Coordinate/arrange medical surveillance for all employees as per client requirements.
    • Establish, implement and maintain a project specific SHE files as per client requirements.

    What you bring

    • Matric/Grade 12
    • National Diploma/BTECH in Safety Management or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
    • SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1 & 2 Course, or equivalent qualification will be advantageous.
    • Registration with SACPCMP will be an added advantage.
    • 2 - 4 years’ working experience in an HSE environment

    Role Purpose:  

    • To effectively Manage the On-site activities of the Site Maintenance Team.
    • Carry the Responsibility of the Legal Appointment (MHSA 2.6.1 / 2.9.2. or equivalent on OSHACT). 
    • Ensure the Timeous, Safe, Efficient and Economic Effective Execution of the On-site Work Activities, in strict accordance with the Contract Scope of Works which includes Client Specifications, Breakdown-Maintenance, Planned Maintenance Schedules and Inspections.
    • Identify and Manage Site Risks by implementing and maintaining an Effective Site Safety System.

    Accountabilities:

    • Safety and Risk Management. Ensure the Identification of Hazards and Risks directly relevant to the Site Conditions and Work Activities.  Preparation of a Risk Management Plan to control, monitor and review all identified risk and hazards.
    • Meeting the contractual maintenance KPI’s in terms of health and safety, quality, DIFOT and financials.
    • Client relationship and liaison.
    • Supervise site team in their execution of work tasks related to the maintenance of the equipment.
    • Quality control of maintenance activities. Mentoring of site subcontractor personnel (team/crews) and development of team skills.
    • Troubleshoots maintenance problems and providing guidance in fault finding to team.
    • Controlling of inventory.

    Requirements:

    • Awareness of financial implications through ensuring site costs are within the estimated value by the Control of labour costs, sub suppliers site costs, managing site instructions and extra claims.
    • To ensure equipment is maintained as per OEM specification and QCP.
    • Assist with Commission equipment after outages to ensure operations are within design specifications and safety standards then handover to client with necessary documentation and provide the necessary close out reports.
    • Evaluates machinery, equipment, systems and processes performance to make decisions regarding the need for operational maintenance in a technically highly sophisticated environment.
    • Troubleshoots operational maintenance problems of machinery, equipment, systems and processes to secure continuous proper functionality.
    • Makes suggestions for upgrades of machinery, equipment, systems and processes to ensure continuous functionality.
    • Performs tests of machinery, equipment, systems and processes to ensure their functionality.
    • Performs inspections/service assignments of materials/processes to assess the need for maintenance.
    • Be willing to perform work extended working hours.
    • Be willing to travel locally and international.
    • Implementation and management of CheckProof App / Online inspection reports.

    Requirements, Skills and abilities:

    • Mechanical trade test with N4 or Engineering Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
    • Project management, supervisory certificate advantages.
    • Experience in maintenance and operation of mining plant. Thorough knowledge of equipment, products, site operations and maintenance especially mills, crusher, thickeners, pumps, cyclones and floatation cells,.
    • 7 years’ working experience in the engineering discipline.
    • 3 years  supervisory experience and interaction with client.
    • Strong commercial and financial understanding.   
    • Good communication skills and ability to liase with clients and internal stakeholders in different levels.
    • Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Projects.
