    Specialist: Decision Support - Johannesburg

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To ensure that key business objectives of MAST are met through providing operational financial insight to the management team, to ensure effective decision making, informed by financial review and business intelligence through profitability analysis and reporting.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Business cases: Develop and continually improve business case structures to support the respective portfolio owners with finance investment decision analysis and post investment reviews (PIR) on a regular basis.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for stakeholders. Provide analysis, insights and controls over business cases and the respective PIR’s on an ongoing basis, including linking the impact to actual financial performance as well as potential impact on budgets.
    • Capex decision support and reporting: Track all capex investments and support business decision making through capex prioritisation, PIR’s, appropriate budgeting and budget tracking against the ambitions of the organisation in alignment with its Strategy 
    • Profitability: Ensure all business units can adequately express their accountabilities in the form of relevant profitability constructs, to support guiding their decision making the impact it has on the business financially. 

    The Ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar
    • Minimum of  2 years’ relevant experience 
    • Technology and Telco experience would be an advantage

    Specialist: Landlord Relations - Kwazulu/Natal

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To manage Landlord relationships, end to end within MAST
    • Cession of Lease Agreements: To obtain consent from landlords for the transfer of existing lease agreements 
    • Lease Renewals: To manage and renew lease agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
    • To manage strategic and operational Property related projects, negotiations, and reporting

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Build and maintain good business relationships with landlords in line with MAST Services and Performance Management Framework and objectives
    • Stakeholder engagement with relevant landlords, stakeholder and government bodies/ associations to strategically position MAST Services to achieve its long-term objectives.
    • Implement the MAST Services strategy with the aim of maximizing onward
    • tenancies and cost containment in the long run
    • Timely renewal and lease renegotiation of rentals (focus on reduction of rentals)
    • To facilitate communication between MAST Services, Landlord and contractors.
    • Regular Site Meetings and updates with Landlords
    • Dispute resolution and ensuring business continuity
    • Manage ground rent direct expense budget
    • Support of site activities and access including upgrades through close coordination with landlords and other MAST and customer stakeholders 
    • Reporting and tracking, on the status of lease agreements and negotiations
    • Liaising with MAST Landlord Relationship Specialists, requires teamwork and the ability to work as a unit within a larger property management framework 
    • Working on ad-hoc projects as requested by line manager and the organization

    The Ideal candiddate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • Relevant 3 year Degree / National Diploma / Equivalent experience (Knowledge Skill Abilities) in Property, Town Panning, Law, or relevant Built Environment qualification.
    • Understanding of basic business principles
    • Relevant Property Legislation & leasing
    • Knowledge of Policies and procedures
    • 3 - 5 years Negotiating experience
    • 3 - 5 years working with property/base stations/telecoms (Desirable)

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience: 

    • Understanding of Basic Telecommunications Principles and site layout.
    • Negotiation Skills including dispute management skills, is vital 
    • Communication Skills, essential for liaising with various stakeholders, including landlords, contractors, and internal teams.
    • Contract management: Having understanding and Business acumen in dealing with contract clauses and implementation, ensuring all legal and procedural requirements are complied to.
    • Organizational Skills, necessary for managing multiple leases, renewals, and workload
    • Problem-Solving Skills, useful for addressing any issues that arise during the negotiation or cession process.
    • Attention to Detail and reporting skills: Critical for drafting leases, capturing information, Excel, smart sheets and systems knowledge and ability to report on and analyse statistics.

    Specialist: Plant Maintenance - Kwazulu/Natal

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Responsible for overall site performance, maintenance and recovery  of MSC and BSC/Hub sites by  liaising with various stakeholders to ensure Network availability and resilience

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Plant maintenance (manage SLA’s)

    • Proactive Maintenance (together with maintenance contractor)
    • Scheduling
    • Quality Assurance
    • On-site supervision (usually after hours) 
    • Reactive Maintenance (together with maintenance contractor or OEM/Agent)
    • Ensure full operation of site during Plant failure
    • Restoration of a site in case of Plant failure
    • Quality Assurance
    • On-site supervision
    • Policy management and optimisation:
    • Vodacom Facility Maintenance Policy (VOD-IMP-PPR-0094)
    • MTX Facility Policy (VGR-MAN- PRC-0209)
    • Management of environmental alarms

    Network–Plant interface (management of network equipment deployment)

    • Manage and improve UR (Facility Utilisation Request) process i.e. installation of network equipment 
    • Capacity utilisation i.e. power, HVAC (aircon), space etc.
    • Best practice datacentre management e.g. hot/cold isle compliance, cabling methods (fibre/power), airflow management (supply/return air management) 

    Diesel and Energy management - improve efficient system performance via PUE KPI (Vodafone defined)
    Change Request Management  (Remedy)
    MSC and BSC (Plan, Build, Operate)

    • Technical lead for new and/or upgrade projects that are planned and built by National Technical Facilities (NTF). In  this regard, the RPS function includes:
    • Design specification sign-off
    • Implementation oversight
    • QA and final acceptance 
    • Network equipment deployment within time and cost
    • Compliance and risk management SOX ,  Health and Safety, SANS 0142Audit(ISO14001), 9001, SABS (GMR), and physical access management (CRM etc.)
    • To develop and enhance tools, processes and applications that will identify and address problems and optimise performance
    • Provide input into budget submissions to execute strategy.  Manage expenditure against budget. 
    • Produce management reports and ensure standard documentation is completed (e.g. project documentation, tracking, audit reports ) 

    The Ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • 4 year electrical diploma or degree electrical engineering (Heavy current) and 
    • Wireman’s Licence/Installation Electrician (3-Phase) - essential

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience: 

    • Good knowledge and experience in compliance requirements and management (e.g SOX , Audit(ISO14001), 9001, SABS (GMR), and physical access management (CRM)
    • Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures (Facility maintenance policy and MTX policy)
    • 3- 5 years experience in telecommunication datacentre environment inclusive of AC, DC, air conditioning, alarm systems, fire detection PLUS 4 yr degree electrical engineering (heavy current)

    AND

    • Wireman’s Licence/Installation Electrician (3-Phase) – essential
