    Technology Engineer (Electrical Power Systems)

    ROLE PURPOSE

    The individual in this position will have the task of introducing and advancing innovative technology solutions within the company. The primary goal is to guarantee cost-effectiveness for our customers by implementing cutting-edge technology solutions and maintaining them optimally according to industry best practices. Additionally, will ensure adherence to all company, legal, and regulatory requirements.

    MAIN OUTPUTS
     

    • Lead, implement and manage the maintenance analysis and optimization to enhance efficiency of the maintenance strategy.
    • Implementing and managing an engineering asset life cycle management system on a national level to improve total cost of ownership.
    • Compiling scope of work for service contracts and managing proof of delivery to ensure operational, legal, and statutory compliance.
    • Driving the introduction of new innovative technology solutions to ensure value for money for our customers.
    • Develop and review operations and maintenance policies and procedures for improved operational efficiency to ensure adaptability and compliance in the operational environment.
    • Develop, review, and enhance engineering asset assessment system for existing and prospective contracts.
    • Identify and compile operational training material for maintenance staff.
    • Approving designs (for high-priority buildings), specifications, and new technology implementations and ensure that the systems are tested and commissioned according to the applicable design standards. This will include applicable factory acceptance testing.
    • Do, lead, and manage equipment/plant condition reports on a national basis as an input into the funding requirements and risk management processes.
    • Do, lead, and manage new contract implementation to effect the necessary changes within the SAP data manager, engineering equipment instructions, and outlining the scope of work based on OEM requirements, maintenance strategies and funding required.
    • Manage the discipline-specific asset database in SAP at a national level through the development, implementation, and maintenance of standardized and high-quality master data.
    • Performing/leading specific equipment/plant failure/incident investigations, reporting and ensuring compliance with legal requirements for maintaining operational integrity and regulatory compliance. This includes advisory role to the different contracts/regions with respect to the statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Proficient in air conditioning, heat load and ventilation calculations.
    • Provide Level 2 support with breakdowns and site reinstatement.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    The Applicant must meet the following requirements:

    • B. Eng or BSc, or B Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or Electrical Trade with National-N-Diploma.
    • Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) will be an advantage.
    • Registration with HVAC institutions.
    • Grade 12
    • Code B – Frequent traveling required
    • 10 - 15 years’ experience in design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Electrical (Heavy Current) systems; MV Switchgear, MV Transformers, Uninterruptable Power Systems and Solar systems

    Helpdesk Agent For Persons With Disabilities

    Brief Role Description

    To efficiently capture and process customer requests in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLA)

    Key Performance Areas (Kpa's)

    • Must be clear and audible on telephone and hand-held radio mediums. Well-spoken.
    • Must have a high level of e-mail etiquette and understand the professionalism of a draft or response of an e-mail.
    • Issuing and managing logged jobs from the helpdesk to the supplier, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
    • Interact with the customer both upon receiving the request and informing the requestor of the jobs status.
    • Follow up on calls logged - Depending on the SLA they are logged in. These calls are split into warning calls and breached calls of which the aim is to follow up on the warning before it moves into a breached stage.
    • Update the Cherwell system with updated feedback and updating priorities where necessary with a valid reason captured on the system (Journal)
    • Maintain open communication channels with Maintenance Managers, Helpdesk supervisors, Suppliers, clients & Maintenance team overall.
    • Follow outlined processes regarding quality assurance and overall telephone etiquette.
    • Filing of all site’s operational documents (Work orders/ Job cards)
    • Understand and respond to questions from all emails and callers.
    • Must become familiar with respective software and log calls according to the instructions provided via telephone, radio, and e-mail. Must log calls clearly and correctly.
    • Must be willing to work shifts.
    • Must be willing to be on standby in case of emergencies, working extra shifts at the discretion of the manager or if the operation requires it.
    • Ability to work without direct supervision.
    • Take ownership and responsibility of an issue from start through to a successful resolution.
    • To ensure that relevant and respective reports are sent out in a timely fashion and within deadlines.

    Person Specification

    • Certificate in Call-Centre/Customer Service
    • Matric (Senior Certificate)
    • 12 months of relevant experience in a Call Centre environment
    • Call-center service training, Customer Service training
    • MS Word, MS Excel & MS Outlook
