    Student Affairs Advisor - Potchefstroom

    Position:

    To maintain and develop excellent student relationships and to provide support to students throughout the student journey from enrolment to graduation, thereby contributing to a positive student experience and student retention.

    Minimum Requirements
    Minimum qualification:

    • Undergraduate qualification in social work, education / education psychology, counselling (Dip) or communication

    Responsibilities:

    As the Student Affairs Advisor you will be primarily responsible for the following:

    • Facilitate the implementation of the end-to-end enrolment and onboarding process

    Learning Coach: Corporate

    Purpose of the role :

    To provide academic learning process support, guidance, coaching and motivation to students, during the online education programme and learning process, thereby contributing towards timeous completion of the programme (academic success), a positive student experience and retention (manage the student’s learning and learning programme efficiently and effectively).

    Minimum Requirements
    Minimum Education:

    • Undergraduate qualification
    • A relevant qualification as a coach will be advantageous

    Experience 

    • Two to four years’ experience in the education industry (lecturer / teacher) or corporate training environment (learning and development role)

    Duties and Responsibilities  

    Responsibilities:

    Accountable for learner coaching (“academic cuddling”), motivation and development of a cohort of individual and corporate students up to graduation

    • Allocated scope of work (size of cohort / number of cohorts) - at least 120 to 180 students (individual and corporate) / Scale-able

    STUDENT SUPPORT AND COACHING
    (assist with aspects such as motivation, personal barriers, time management, goal setting, assignments, logbooks, etc.)

    • Webinars (introduction / course / customized) - production and administration / facilitation
    • Student correspondence (various communication platforms) and ad hoc student interventions and follow-ups (coaching)

    QUERY RESOLUTION
    Individual query resolution and support (inbound). Include queries from:

    • Students (progress queries; assignment queries; technical queries ; etc.)
    • Companies and other stakeholde

    TRACKING AND PROGRESS MANAGEMENT
    Individual student progress tracking and progress feedback (utilizing available software)

    • Pull progress reports
    • Identify risks and issues
    • Take appropriate action

    AT-RISK STUDENT MANAGEMENT

    • Identify @risk students
    • Develop and implement action plans (incl. learning solutions) to reduce @risk students

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT CONTRIBUTION

    • Take actions to improve the platform to drive efficiencies and effectiveness in role as learner coach
