    Technical Service Specialist - Engines

    Description

    • Conduct comprehensive engine performance and trend monitoring for the CFM56 series engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), identifying early deterioration patterns and recommending proactive interventions;
    • Ensure full compliance to airworthiness requirements, including:
    • Airworthiness Directives (ADS);
    • Service Bulletins (SBS);
    • Mandatory and recommended modifications;
    • LLP (Life Limited Parts) tracking;
    • Plan non-scheduled engine and APU changes. Liaise with OEM on repair schedules on allowable damages out of repair manual criteria;
    • Provide specialist technical analysis and fault investigation support for recurring defects, abnormal trends, in-flight shutdowns, EGT margin loss, vibration exceedances, oil consumption trends, and reliability events; - Drive fleet engine reliability initiatives, using data analytics to improve time-on-wing performance and reduce unscheduled removals;
    • Prepare and issue detailed engineering planning documentation, including:
    • Engineering Orders;
    • Preventative maintenance instructions:
    • Reliability improvement plans;
    • Technical justifications and cost impact analyses; - Analyse fleet-wide KPls such as:
    • EGT margin decay;
    • Oil consumption rates;
    • Unscheduled removals;
    • Present engine performance reports to management;
    • Ensure compliance with SACAA/EASA/FAA requirements (as applicable);
    • Maintain accurate engine records for audit and lease return readiness;
    • Support CAMO and Quality during audits and inspections;
    • Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for engines and APUs;
    • Provide guidance to Line Maintenance, MCC, and Planning teams;
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programmes. 

    Requirements

    • 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
    • Mechanical Trade test certificate (Essential);
    • Licensed AME with SACAA A & C License on B737/800 (Essential) (Current/Expired);
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the aviation industry particularly CFM 56 series (Essential);
    • Experience in Technical Services, specialising in Engines (Essential) Aircraft type experience, specifically Safair Operated Aircraft Types series (Essential);
    • Boro-scope experience (Advantageous);
    • Previous experience as an Aviation Technician on B737-8 (MAX) mechanical systems/Engines (Advantageous);
    • Experience with a MRO system (Advantageous).

    Assistant Maintenance Planner - JHB

    Description

    • Compile work packs for the FlySafair inductions and lease returns (planning for the next check due, informing stores of NDT required, components needed for checks);
    • Ensure work orders are compiled on time and provided to MRO;
    • Capture work order data from MRO;
    • Create ad-hoc work orders;
    • Follow-up on all open work orders;
    • Review completed work orders and ensure accuracy;
    • Close work orders from outstations;
    • Close work orders from MRO when maintenance is complete;
    • Perform component movements from MRO work orders;
    • Notify other departments of findings in work orders and findings highlighted by QA/QC;
    • Assist with capturing ATLR's and component movements from ATLR's when required;
    • Update logbooks of aircraft and major modules being inducted and lease returned;
    • Update the maintenance system with ADS and SBS. Provide information to other departments when requested;
    • Issue Certificate of Release (CRS) to service and Certificate Related to Maintenance of an Aircraft (CRMA) documents after maintenance is completed;
    • Ensure all documentation issued is current;
    • Assist with CAA Audits and C of A inspections when requested;
    • Assist with hard-time and Life-limited components management;
    • Maintain aircraft serviceability as per the approved AMP, and or relevant documentation or lessor requirements;
    • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, policies and guidelines;
    • Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures;
    • Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance;
    • Analyse Stakeholder needs and identify improvement initiatives;
    • Liaise with the Maintenance Planning Specialist regarding scheduling and required downtime needed for inductions and lease returns.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential);
    • Certificate in maintenance planning (Advantageous);
    • 5 years of technical experience in aviation in a mid-size organisation (Essential);
    • Experience with aircraft maintenance planning (Essential);
    • Experience working with a technical maintenance system (Advantageous);

    Quality Assurance Administrator

    Description

    • Ensure that the manuals are current on IQSMS. Update all the checklists electronically as per the Qdrive;
    • Prepare letters and memos as required by the QA Manager;
    • Track and update key performance indicators (KPl's) related to QA activities;
    • Ensure audit folders are updated and current for scopes pertaining to AMO, AOC, ATO, ASTO and ESP's;
    • Ensure that the expiry dates for all company approvals do not lapse;
    • Update audit plans, coherence matrix and registers;
    • Populate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports;
    • Ensure all administration databases and tracking tools are up to date and correct;
    • Ensure all Audit electronic filing and manual filing systems are organised and maintained;
    • Maintain records of audits, inspections and corrective actions taken in the IQSMS and QA internal folders;
    • Arrange conferences, meetings, training sessions and travel reservations for the Compliance team;
    • Arrange meetings, draft and distribute meeting minutes;
    • Organise documentation that are submitted to the SACAA;
    • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental and organisational objectives. 

    Requirements

    • Tertiary qualification focused on Quality Management System (Advantageous);
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in office administration and preferably Quality Assurance functions specific to aviation (Essential).

    QC Inspector - JHB

    Description

    • Perform quality control inspections on aircraft interior and exterior as well as parts and tooling used for aircraft maintenance;
    • Prepare aircrafts for C of A inspections as a Project Manager;
    • QC product oversight on FlySafair A/C Domestic, Regional and International;
    • Perform and assist with investigations on operational occurrences;
    • Identify gaps in FlySafair departmental quality control processes and make recommendations;
    • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the Manager: QA;
    • Issue and control AMO certification approvals;
    • Assist the QA Manager with Chairing of meetings;
    • Attend all relevant meetings, including but not limited to the Maintenance meeting, Safety Action Group Meetings, Compliance Meetings, Operations Meetings, Aircraft Survey meetings, etc.;
    • Assist with authorising and issuing Company Authorisations for Technical and Flight Engineers;
    • Carry out random inspections during daily turnarounds with emphasis on procedures and maintenance instructions;
    • During 'A' and higher checks, the inspectors will work closely with the maintenance staff, ensuring awareness of the procedures to be followed and to ensure compliance with and completion of all maintenance instructions and tasks to be carried out;
    • Carry out random inspections in areas opened for maintenance prior to close up, taking into account prior adjustments that were made;
    • Sample maintenance documentation for correctness and completion (Work packs/ ATLR's/CRS/CRMA);
    • Compile monthly reports on QC activities in the organisation;
    • Assist the QA Manager and Technical department in writing procedures relating to quality within the organisation;
    • Coordinate and amend Manual of Procedures, Quality Assurance Manual and work instructions.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License (Current/Expired) (Essential);
    • Degree/Diploma in Quality Management (Advantageous);
    • Safety Management Systems training (Advantageous);
    • 5 years' experience in Aviation Maintenance (Essential);

    Organisational Design Specialist - JHB

    Description

    • Administer, score, interpret and provide detailed feedback on psychometric assessments for various purposes in accordance with HPCSA guidelines.
    • Make recommendations based on the job profile and assessment outcome.
    • Update Assessment Matrix where applicable.
    • Maintain and update the Assessment database.
