    Technical Manager - Product Development and Quality

    Job Description

    • To lead the technical development and quality assurance of pet nutrition products, managing the full lifecycle from concept to post-launch.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Lead the development of innovative pet nutrition products from concept to launch.
    • Drive renovation and value optimization initiatives to enhance product performance and cost-effectiveness.
    • Conduct post-launch analysis to ensure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure all products meet food safety, nutritional, and regulatory standards.
    • Champion customer-first thinking in all technical decisions.
    • Ensure products, services, and experiences deliver genuine value to pet owners and their pets.
    • Use customer insights and feedback to guide product innovation and renovation.
    • Ensure compliance with Woolworths’ technical requirements, industry regulations, and labeling standards.

    Job Requirements
    Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Animal Nutrition, or a related field.
    • 5–8 years’ experience in product development within the FMCG or pet nutrition sector.
    • Experience working with Woolworths or similar retail chains.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Excellent Customer facing experience.

    Customer Services Specialist

    What you will do:

    • Respond to and resolve customer queries across phone, email, and social media platforms in a professional and empathetic manner.
    • Handle product-related complaints and escalate complex cases to the Customer Services Manager and other relevant departments (Regulatory, Quality, Sales etc)
    • Assist in the preparation of scientific content and customer communication materials.
    • Support the implementation of product and health training initiatives, including the design and delivery of product training sessions.
    • Help coordinate customer service projects, including exhibitions, training sessions, and community engagement activities.
    • Build relationships & loyalty through consistent communication.
    • Deliver service excellence that is human, warm & memorable.

    Job Requirements
    What are we looking for: 

    • BSc in Dietetics or equivalent qualification.
    • 1–2 years’ experience in customer care, preferably in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or supplement industry.
    • Registration with the HPCSA as a Dietitian will be advantageous.
    • Understanding of ethics and regulatory requirements in the health and wellness sector.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail, and a strong customer-orientation.
    • This role is ideal for a dietitian looking to apply their nutrition knowledge and communication skills in both a customer-facing and operational support capacity in the health food and supplement industry.
