    Head: Platform Reliability Engineering (Re-Advertisement)

    Purpose of the role:

    • Responsible for the planning, design, implementation and support of the technical platforms (cloud & on premise) of the PIC, unified communication and network connectivity. The role is responsible for ensuring reliable, resilient and always-on platforms and communications networks. This further implies technical leadership for the engineers in this environment.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, with technical operations management experience.
    • Hons, MBA or Masters qualification will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in the IT industry, including at least 5 years at a senior management level in IT, digital technologies like cloud, AI and business experience in strategic planning, development, implementation and maintenance of systems.
    • IT Governance experience - COBIT or ITIL
    • Knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements in IT

    Duties:

    • To lead and manage a team of technical engineers for hosting, cloud, communications network, unified communications and related infrastructure;
    • To plan, design, implement and maintain the technical platforms of the PIC, i.e., the PIC cloud instance, Communications Networks (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.), unified communications, helpdesk services, hosting services, databases and data platforms;
    • Responsible for the access, upkeep and availability of the technical platforms for use by IT segments, third-party partners and PIC business community;
    • Responsible for the overall architecture of the technical infrastructure of the PIC, i.e. hosting, cloud, connectivity and communications network;
    • Establish the strategic direction for the technical team in line with market trends, i.e., digital technologies like cloud, networks (SDN), IoT, storage, archives, backups, designing for resilience and always on;
    • Overall management and support of the infrastructure environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability;
    • Responsible for ensuring that the technical infrastructure is in line with the latest versions as much as possible and that the cadence of patching is adequate to always ensure that PIC is still within manageable vulnerabilities;
    • Responsible for the full life cycle of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) of the technical infrastructure, e.g. remediating and responding to audit findings and providing necessary management comments and risk acceptances where required;
    • Manage infrastructure architecture, design, implementation, configuration, backups and maintenance on hardware and software;
    • Management and provision of 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support as part of the incident management process;
    • Responsible and accountable for changes affecting the infrastructure services
    • Capacity planning and demand forecasting;
    • Provide advice, guidance and direction about operations, strategies and organisational impact;

    Senior Internal Auditor

    Purpose of the role:

    • To carry out complex internal audits and recommend controls to address identified weaknesses to business management, as directed by the Public Investment Corporation.

    Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications :

    • Grade 12
    • BCom Degree in Internal Auditing/ Accounting/ Investment Management/ Business Science or a related discipline.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    Junior Data Analyst

    Purpose of the role:

    • The Junior Data Analyst supports the PIC Data and Analytics function in performing the full lifecycle technical data analysis (including requirements gathering, modelling, data mining, visualisation and reporting).
    • This role supports the Data Analyst in enabling the organisation to achieve business objectives by providing accurate insights, identifying trends, improving business processes and supporting advanced analytics initiatives.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors’ Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science,
    • Computer Engineering or related.
    • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst &/or Azure Database Administration Certification.

    • Experience with conducting analytics, data transformation and visualisation using tools like IBM Cognos and Microsoft Power BI.

    Duties:

    • Extract, analyse, and transform complex datasets to answer business questions.

    • Provide and apply quality assurance best practices for data analysis services across the  organisation.
    • Support the acquisition and management of data feed services (e.g., JSE, Bloomberg, Iress, LSEG, MSCI, etc.) and subscription services across the organisation.
