    Job Advert Summary    

    • Randwater is looking for a candidate who will be responsible for maintenance, developing EMS landscapes and facilities using various hortcultural equipments, machines, tools in a labour intensive work as instructed

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 or N3
    • 6 Months experience in a similar Environment
    • Ability to operate horticultural machines such as brush cutters, lawnmower and knap sack

    Primary Duties    

    • General Site Maintenance of landscape and facililties
    • Cleaning, sweeping, watering and planting
    • Applications of fertilizers, mulches and composts
    • Loading and offloading of goods, machines,plants and debris
    • Support with decoration when required
    • Grass cutting within Bulkwater Distribution Reservoir Site and servitude

    Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The incumbent will be responsible for leading and coordinating energy management initiatives across Rand Water’s operations to ensure the judicious, efficient, and sustainable use of energy. This includes minimizing electricity costs, monitoring of non-revenue water (NRW), and supporting raw water abstraction efficiency. This position includes all spheres of management including budget control, human resource management, legal compliance etc.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • BEng/BTech Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 8 years’ multidiscipline engineering experience and water industry experience,
    • Registered as a Certified Energy Manager with the Association of Energy Engineers is an advantage,
    • GCC – Factories Certificate is an advantage,
    • Project Management qualification,
    • ECSA registration is an added advantage. Computer literacy (MS Office Suite),
    • Driver’s License,

    Primary Duties    

    • Develop and implement energy management strategy,
    • Purchase energy at the lowest cost Identify opportunities for energy savings and implement interventions,
    • Ensure that energy is utilize at the highest efficiency,
    • Prevent wastage of energy,
    • Monitoring operational performance,
    • Compile sales and energy budget,
    • Manage energy-related KPIs and performance reports.
    • Implementing and maintaining programs to support above

    Knowledge    

    • Knowledge of pumps, valves, pipelines, motors, switchgear, protection system and transformers,
    • Condition monitoring of critical equipment,
    • Project management principles (PMBOK),
    • Knowledge of legislation and regulations in water industry,

    • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

    Experiential Training Program (15 Months)

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Applicants with a matric and have successfully completed the two years theoretical training as required for a National Diploma in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Sciences or Analytical Chemistry.
    • Applicants must be South African Citizens and have a valid SA ID Document.
    • Applicants must be under the age of 35 in line with the NSDS.
    • Applicants must not have participated in previous experiential learning programmes and must require the experience to fulfill the requirements of a National Diploma in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Sciences or Analytical Chemistry.
    • Application must contain the following documents (incomplete applications will not be considered).

    • Recommendation letter from the Tertiary training institute verifying that you must only complete the one year training in the workplace environment.
    • Certified copies of your ID Document.

    Primary Duties    

    • Application of basic principles of ISO 17025.
    • Collecting samples for water quality monitoring.
    • Preparation of media, chemicals, reagents and samples received, for the area of work.
    • Performing analytical analysis on samples received.
    • The documentation and checking of results on the identified databases.
    • Performance and documentation of all quality control checks of identified analytical tests.
    • Undertaking and documentation of maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, biological cultures and test kits and ensure that they are correctly maintained.
    • The adherence of SHE practices and good housekeeping principles in the area of work.

    Knowledge    

    • Sound theoretical knowledge of Biotechnology/Microbiology/ Environmental Science/Analytical Chemistry.

    • Computer literacy in Word Processing and Spreadsheet applications
