    Procurement Specialist - Engineering

    • As we continue to grow, RCL FOODS is searching for a Sourcing Specialist with a strong Commercial, Engineering and IT background to join our Group Services Division. This position will be based at our National Office in Westville, Durban and report to the Sourcing Manager.
    • The purpose of this role is to support the Sourcing Manager to strategically source, negotiate, manage and evaluate Group contracts within a specific category, as well as to facilitate increased contract coverage and spend across the Group within the category

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Degree in commerce/finance, supply chain management or a related field
    • 3-5 years’ experience within a sourcing and commercial management environment
    • Demonstrated knowledge of economic indicators, cost drivers and cost analysis
    • Demonstrated experience in project management
    • Confidence to interact and work in cross functional teams
    • Valid Code EB drivers' license

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Strategic Support

    • Working with the Sourcing Manager to develop category strategy, sourcing exercises and general spend analysis.
    • Partner with the Business and external service providers to determine business needs and apply professional sourcing and category management methodologies such as vendor rationalisation, utilising technology and flexible solutions to enhance user experience and minimise financial impact.
    • Develop short, mid and long term strategies for the various sub-categories ensuring delivery at the most competitive cost.

    Operational Management

    • Source new items and suppliers based on the specifications provided by the Business by researching industry/commodity trends.
    • Supplier market interaction and obtaining samples for testing.
    • Produce reports and present information to relevant Functions to highlight potential sourcing or saving opportunities and update the Sourcing Manager on actions where applicable.

    Market Analysis and Forecasting

    • Evaluate market conditions in order to develop sourcing strategies, maintain/improve quality and influence cost controls.
    • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
    • Effectively communicate with internal cross functional teams on the current and future status of products and services markets.

    Supplier Management

    • Evaluate and ensure potential suppliers are capable of meeting the specified requirements.
    • Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the products and/or services balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
    • Negotiate commercial terms & conditions
    • Compile SLA’s
    • Monitor Supplier performance against SLA’s.
    • Maintain positive Supplier relationships.

    Technical Expertise

    • Provide ongoing advice and support on best practice to ensure continuous improvement in category contract sourcing and vendor management.
    • Develop specialist knowledge on assigned category and identify opportunities to deliver best value solutions and make recommendations on preferred strategies to the Sourcing Manager.

    SAP Enablement

    • Work with the master data team to ensure the SAP master data related to the procurement category is accurate and up to date.
    • Arrange for all new catalogues and suppliers to be promptly loaded on the SAP system.

    Maintenance Assistant

    Job Description    

    • RCL Foods is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our baking division. The role will be based in Spartan and will report to the Shift Artisan. The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting the artisans in the execution of all electrical, mechanical and civil maintenance and repair of related machinery and equipment.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12/ Matric with physical science and Mathematics.
    • Or Technical Senior Certificate/similar technical qualification.
    • N3 certificate in mechanical/electrical engineering will be advantageous.
    • 1+ years’ experience as a maintenance assistant in an FMCG or similar environment.
    • Welding; measuring; knowledge of tools and correct application thereof.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance:

    • Inspection of machinery and equipment as per supplier requirements set out in the maintenance procedures.
    • Assist with maintenance of all related machinery and equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan and schedule.
    • Assist with electrical repairs on machinery and related equipment per breakdown.
    • Assist with electrical repairs in the building.

    Civil:

    • Inspection of water systems and main water supply as per maintenance schedule.
    • Assist with maintenance of water systems and water supply in accordance to the maintenance plan and schedule.
    • Assist with maintenance of buildings as per maintenance schedule.

    General:

    • Execution of all reasonable instructions issued by Artisan and Manager of daily tasks.
    • Execution of all reasonable instructions issued by authorized personnel/management.
    • Daily inspection of all related machinery, equipment and constructions for prevention of breakdowns.
    • Assist with special projects.
    • Ensure the toolbox is fully stocked and kept in a clean, hygienic state.
    • Ensure maintenance workshop is clean and tidy at all times with all items in their correct place.
    • Ensure work area is clean and tidy and good housekeeping practices are maintained in the workplace.
    • Adhere to food safety guidelines as per company policies and procedures.
    • Abide by all Good Manufacturing Practices requirements as set out by the employer.
    • Ensure all work areas are cleaned and free from contaminants after maintenance work has been completed.

    Material Replenishment Planner

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is searching for a Material Replenishment Planner to join the Groceries Division. The role will be based in Randfontein, Gauteng and will report into the MRP Supervisor/Lead.
    • The Material Replenishment Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging to support production schedules and customer demand. This role manages inventory levels, monitors supplier performance, and balances cost efficiency with service excellence.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
    • 2–5 years’ experience in material planning, supply planning, or inventory management (manufacturing/FMCG/industrial preferred).
    • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Syspro/FlowCentric).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Plan, schedule, and manage material replenishment requirements to support production and demand forecasts.
    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while avoiding excess or obsolescence.
    • Create and maintain material replenishment plans using ERP/MRP systems.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules, resolve shortages, and address supply disruptions.
    • Work closely with sourcing, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
    • Track, analyse, and report key supply metrics such as stock-outs, lead times, supplier forecast accuracy supplier reliability, etc.
    • Identify risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply planning and material availability processes.
