    GP/GC Part Time Flute and Theory Teacher

    Description

    • The Girls’ Music Department invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 January 2025. This is a peripatetic flute and theory teaching position for students from Grade 3 – Grade 12.

    Requirements

    • A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience
    • A degree in the appropriate subject area is a prerequisite
    • The ability to teach music theory lessons from beginner to a Grade 6 level
    • Preparing students for external music examinations
    • A willingness to work after hours, along with strong adaptability and flexibility skills
    • A passion and vision for music, especially within the extramural space
    • An understanding of girls in the musical space
    • A high level of organisational, administrative and communication skills
    • An interest and vision for a student-centred holistic education programme
    • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College

    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • Extended care for students within the Girls Prep between 12H00 – 18H00
    • A teaching background will be preferable
    • An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team
    • Ability to take initiative and to act decisively
    • Must be motivated and passionate about young people
    • Care and supervision of all students at the aftercare facility
    • Assist with the extra mural program of aftercare students
    • Supervision of lunches
    • Good organisational skills
    • Excellent people skills
    • Good administration and computer skills
    • Proof of registration with SACE will be an advantage
    • A sexual offender’s clearance certificate. Any staff working within a school are required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate.

    Campus - Risk and Compliance Officer

    The Requirements for this Position are: 

    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification,  
    • At least 7 years’ experience in a related role/field 
    • Understanding of education legislation and regulations is beneficial. 
    • Ability to interpret and apply legal requirements to school policies and procedures. 
    • Good basic understanding of contract law, with particular exposure to service contracts
    • Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies. 
    • Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail 
    • Excellent command of English (verbal and written) 
    • Leading the development and implementation of compliance programmes. 
    • Participating in strategic planning for safety and risk management. 
    • High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 
    • Previous experience in a school or educational institution is highly beneficial. 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Staying updated with changes in laws and best practices in risk and compliance management. 
    • Ensure campus-wide adherence to legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Child Safety, Privacy). 
    • Conduct compliance assessments, audits, and implement corrective strategies. 
    • Implement and report on the Risk Management Framework. 
    • Develop and maintain risk registers with schools and departments. 
    • Prepare risk and compliance reports for governance and executive committees. 
    • Develop disaster and emergency plans and training. 
    • Review and manage contracts for legal compliance. 
    • Track renewals and deadlines. 
    • Ensure the College stays updated on legislation changes and update policies, training and procedures accordingly. 
    • Prepare and submit regulatory filings. 
    • Maintain compliance records and coordinate training. 
    • Assist with data entry and reporting. 
    • Advise stakeholders on compliance matters specific to the education sector. 
    • Promoting the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College, as well as participating in the broader life of St Stithians College
