    Associate Principal, Diversified Lending Transactor - (2200009658)

    Role Responsibilities 

    Strategy

    • To support the Client Coverage Relationship Managers across Africa & Middle East with the structuring and execution of relevant Lending transactions
    •  Any transactions supported by the Diversified Lending Team – includes Corporate Capex, FI working capital, Corporate Real Estate, Subscription Finance etc.

    Business

    • Engage with clients to negotiate relevant Diversified Lending transactions (as coordinated by the Client’s Relationship Managers)
    • Ensure that relevant transactions are structured appropriately to maximize deal returns while allowing for potential distribution or sell down (as required)
    • Preparation of deal economics, information memoranda, pitch books, presentations, prospectuses, deal summary sheets and other forms of reports as applicable under the supervision of the Diversified Lending Team lead.
    • Identify potential cross-sell opportunities from Diversified Lending transactions (i.e. Cash, Trade and Financial Markets) to maximize client revenue and returns without prejudice to the Bank’s Conduct Principle of Fair Outcomes for Clients
    • Be jointly responsible to achieve the quantitative and qualitative performance objectives set for the Diversified Lending team
    • Develop and maintain relevant industry and product knowledge and stay abreast of developments within the industries or markets in which our clients operate
    • Represent Standard Chartered Bank in matters relating to relevant Diversified Lending transactions or applicable industry events (as required)

    Processes

    • Ensure that all relevant transactions are compliant with the relevant Country Underwriting Standards, Portfolio Standards and Product Programs (including Country Addendums)
    • Work proactively with various stakeholders such as Relationship Managers, Risk, Legal, Finance, etc. to reach financial close on Diversified Lending Transactions
    • Contribute to applicable Transaction Approval applications which may be required, such as the approvals for Credit Risk, Global/Regional Capital Allocation Forum, Non-presence Countries, Country Risk Limit Allocation, Underwriting/Portfolio Standards or PPG Deviations, etc

    Risk Management

    • Prepare financial models to support the structuring and analysis of relevant transactions (as required for each transaction)
    • Preparation of credit applications, including detailed analysis of business, industry, financial and management risk under the supervision of the Diversified Lending Team lead.
    • Engage with Risk and other internal stakeholders to obtain necessary transaction approvals
    • Analysis and negotiation of legal documentation related to Relevant Transactions under the supervision of the Diversified Lending Team lead.
    • Proactively identify potential risks or issues which are affecting or may affect the portfolio of relevant Diversified Lending transactions
    • Ensure that relevant transactions are structured appropriately for potential distribution or sell down (as required)
    • Establish/maintain a good control environment related to Diversified Lending facilities

    • Take ownership of documentation execution for relevant transactions ensuring that all approved or required terms and conditions are correctly reflected in the transaction documentation and all relevant approvals are recorded and stored appropriately
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures in relation to booking, monitoring and reporting of relevant Lending transactions
    • Prepare the Deal Checklists and review the accuracy and completeness thereof against the deal files for each Lending deal

    Regulatory & Business Conduct

    • Prepare or contribute to representations to Audit and Regulators with regard to the relevant Lending transactions
    • Maintain a functional understanding of Internal policies and external regulatory changes that may affect the Diversified Lending role or the portfolio of relevant Diversified Lending transactions

    Associate Principal, Relationship Manager, Investors - (2200009394)

    Role Responsibilities 

    Business

    Act as a direct sales support to the team on all origination activities:

    • In partnership with Group Account Manager / Relationship Manager, jointly accountable for client revenues including Throw / Catch for Field Account Manager
    • Manage a pool of Investor clients (a mix of Real Money Funds, Hedge Funds & Investment Companies)
    • Proactively assist the Group Account Manager / Relationship Manager with transactional support on origination activities i.e., pitch books, industry leads etc, including coordination with network and product
    • Client analysis, reporting on post origination activities; client meeting documentation; adherence to sales discipline requirements, case studies
    • Client meeting preparation and execution including logistics if attending
    • Competitor analysis, compare/contrast SCB’s value proposition vs. its peers
    • New transactions: Deal execution support, credit documentation, limit loading, co-ordinate with sales/products on fee letters, deal drawdown.
    • Proactive management of portfolio including client and product partner engagement to ensure limit utilization

    Processes

    Suppor the Banker in account strategy process for each client by involving all relevant internal stakeholders:

    • Conduct ‘deep dive sessions’
    • Work with the product partners to maximize cross-sell and returns on risk weighted assets.
    • Communicate relevant approved strategy for each client to all relevant internal stakeholders
    • Along with product partners, push for line utilization of complex and structured transactions.
    • Oversee the CCM in ensuring high utilization of regular BAU facilities.
    • Review client profitability data for clients.
    • Participate in conversations with client on account strategy/wallet sizing/transactions/pricing issues
    • Identify clients that need to be classified as Early Alert with Credit and/or transferred to Stressed Assets
    • Lead the effort in amending the account Strategy if a critical credit related issue arises

    • Form and manage internal deal team for complex transactions that involve numerous internal product partners.  Ensure that sensitive deal information is managed and treated confidentially

    Risk Management

    • On-going monitoring against revolving business environment and ensure risk triggers and transaction covenants are satisfactorily reviewed and attended to
    • Work closely with clients to understand buying behaviour and need in order to right size limits to ensure optimal usage, maximise client RoRWA and reduce drag on assets
    • Actively undertake tail management of client base to ensure that clients remain on strategy and relevant.  Otherwise, initiate exit process to manage out the client
    • Be proactive in ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures and lead preparation of client files for audit purposes

    Associate Principal, Risk & Control, CCIB Client Coverage - (2200009004)

    Role Responsibilities 

    Purpose

    The Associate Principal, Risk & Control is responsible for supporting Country Head in managing end to end process risks for Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking Client Coverage (CCIB CC) in the country, for the processes owned by the Banking Platform in the Single Process Universe. The Associate Principal is responsible for supporting and executing the first line of defence and ensures effective implementation of Operational Risk Framework (under the Enterprise Risk Management Framework), process controls and governance within the country.

    Business

    • Support Country Head in maintaining an awareness of the wider business, economic and market environment in the country in which the Group operates.
    • Continuously support in evaluation and identification of operational risk implications of business strategies and programmes and provide guidance on any operational risk remediation actions.
    • Support implementation and ensuring adoption of COO CCIB CC initiatives in the country

    Processes

    • Responsible for ensuring adherence to specified BAU operational risk deadlines, along with the consistent execution of CST / KCI for relevant processes in the country.
    • Responsible for being a key escalation recipient for the business for all operational risk related incidents and queries that arise in the country.
    • Ensure risk ownership over centrally / GBS performed validation checks is retained at the country level – specifically ownership of residual risk evaluations and associated remediation activities.

    • Responsible for supporting the business in the country in minimizing operational risks and losses, and ensuring material operational losses are investigated to prevent recurrence.

    • Responsible for regular dialogue with CCIB CC and Country Compliance team to ensure that Country Teams are informed of product changes, regulatory changes, new policies, compliance reviews and audits.

Setting appropriate tone and expectations for the team, working in collaboration with risk and control partners across all functions to effectively embed a strong culture of risk awareness and good conduct for CCIB CC staff.

    Risk Management

    • Support in evaluation and identification of operational risks for new products and new business, regulatory and thematic risks, and drive the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate these risks.
    • Responsible for raising awareness of business controls, governance and supervision responsibilities amongst relevant staff in the country and ensure an appropriate culture amongst all staff in this regard.
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance with policies applicable to CCIB CC which impact operational risk. Challenge processes, procedures, and policy together with Country Heads, if there is opportunity for efficiency improvements.
    • Responsible for speaking out on emerging risks for the businesses in the country.
    • Responsible for identifying knowledge gaps, facilitate development of training on Operational Risk for business staff.
    • Supporting the Country Head in conducting peer reviews.

    • Responsible for providing guidance to the business on working towards an advanced MCA, driving improvements in year-on-year average MCA ratings.
    • Support Country Head in effective running of Country CCIB CC Business Risk Forum (BRF).
    • Support Country Head in ensuring adequate governance and oversight of operational risk in the country, through the escalation and appropriate resolution of risk exposures to the Country Risk Committee (CRC) and Non-Financial Risk Committees (NFRCs) as required.
    • Responsible for escalation of issues, blockages, challenges and trends to the Country / Cluster Head, Risk & Control and Country business head (s), as required

    Governance

    • Support Country / Cluster Heads in effective running of Country CCIB CC Business Risk Forum (BRF).
    • Support Country / Cluster Head in ensuring adequate governance and oversight of operational risk in the country, through the escalation and appropriate resolution of risk exposures to the Country Risk Committee (CRC) and Non-Financial Risk Committees (NFRCs) as required.
    • Responsible for escalation of issues, blockages, challenges and trends to the Country / Cluster Head, Risk & Control and Country business head (s), as required
