    Pallets & Boards - General Worker

    Introduction

    • To sort and repair pallets and, Isolate damaged pallets, build new pallets from scrap pallets and assist with any other general duties.

    Job description

    • Check the quality of the pallets received from trade, and repair damaged pallets in accordance to Twizza quality standards. 
    • Sort pallets received from trade and isolate any damaged pallets.  
    • Sort and do minor repairs on the Chepp Pallets. 
    • Use scrap pallets to build new Twizza plates. 
    • Assist with loading of Spar Trucks.  
    •  Produce accurate daily record of pallets sorted and repaired 
    • Use of PPE and appearance
    • Maintain Personal hygiene 
    • Ensure area of responsibility is kept as per standard (housekeeping) 
    • Adhere to all Food Safey Standards and report on all issues with regards to the Food Safety Management System to the Food Safety Team.

    Plastics Assistant Operator

    Introduction

    • The purpose of the Plastics Assistant Operator is to get raw materials ready, grind scrap preforms and bottles, assist in start-up, assist in shutdown and operation, assist in cleaning and maintenance, and carry out any reasonable instruction.

    Job description

    • Adhere to company health & safety policies
    • Adhere to standards
    • Adhere to all Food Safety Standards and report on all issues with regards to the Food Safety Management
    •  System to the Food Safety Team
    • Get material ready
    • Make sure vacuum is ready for filling hopper
    • Fill hopper continuously
    • When cages are full it must be removed to warehouse area
    • New empty cage must be ready to be filled
    • All process equipment and surrounding area must always be clean
    • Must be prepared to carry out any lawful and reasonable instructions
    • Machines must be greased according to maintenance schedules 
    • Mould size changes
    • Make sure bags are clean and not damaged before use
    • All material use must be recorded

    Labeller Operator

    Introduction

    • The purpose of the Labeller Operator is to ensure machine settings and operations are correct, or adjusted, to ensure that a perfectly labelled container is produced in line with product specifications; while managing waste streams, and machine availability.

    Job description

    • Operate the labeller
    • Make sure that the right labels are on the Product
    • Make sure that the label height is right
    • Make sure that the overlapping of the label is right
    • Make sure that the label is straight
    • Make sure that the date coder is on and running correctly and printing clearly. Check every 15 minutes
    • Check that the date coders settings is correct
    • Organize with your Team Leader for enough labels. Inform him timeously of possible shortages
    • Inform Team leader of any problems with labels immediately
    • Keep your labeller clean.  Clean regular while the line is waiting for another machine.
    • Clean the labeller drum and sensors at least every 2 hours
    • Inspect the conveyors from the filler to the labeller and from labeller to variopack regularly
    • Inspect bottle and label every half hour for:
    • Pearlescence
    • Solid base with small center
    • Straight neck
    • The label is straight
    • Date coder on and printing
    • Do maintenance of labeller as per instruction of the maintenance manager on maintenance day
    • Receive your area in a clean, running condition
    • Hand your area over in a clean, running condition
    • Report any faults or problems ASAP
    • No lunch during flavour change
    • VarioPack Operator to cover for Labeller Operator during lunch and vice versa
    • Line 2
    • Do size change as per SOP for labeller
    • Make 100% sure that everything is right by jogging the machine and checking the area where changes took    place
    • Set the conveyors, check-mat and sensors for specific size from the flow liner till the second flow bin.  Run the size bottle through the conveyor till second flow bin to make sure it is right
    • Set the date coder for specific size
    • Line 1
    • Are responsible for the Videojet on line 1
    • Clean the area and machine regularly
    • Set the flavour on Videojet during flavour change
    • Documentation as per QMS

    Block Operator

    Introduction

    • Ensure machine settings and operations are correct, or adjusted, to ensure that a perfect filled bottle is produced with the right quality specification from the preforms manufactured at Twizza; while managing waste streams, and machine availability

    Job description

    • Responsible for running the blower, the filler and mixer
    • Responsible for flavour change at the mixer, filler, and blower 

    Flavour Change:

    • Select the right product at the flavour room.  Discuss with Team Leader – Your line and flavour room.
    • Select right product at mixer and follow SOP for flavour start up at mixer. 
    • Select right product at filler and follow SOP for flavour start up at the filler. 
    • Do a 50-bottle run start up and make sure the product is right:
    •  Taste
    •  Colour
    •  Brix
    •  CO2
    • During flavour change drain caps if necessary and ensure that all are drained
    • During flavour change especially when preform colour or size is changed remove all bottles, caps and preforms   from blower, filler, mixer and surrounding area.
    • Check product on every hour during the run as in D and record findings.
    • Check bottle for defects on the hour for:
    •  Pearlescence 
    •  Solid base with small centre
    •  Straight neck
    • Check rejections at the checkmat and investigate the reason
    •  Make sure that all the rejection faults are switch on at checkmat
    • Check prefor m rejections and inform team leader of unnecessary rejections
    • Decant rejected bottles
    •  Remove decanted bottles on a regular basis.
    • Decant rejected bottles.
    • Remove decanted bottles on a regular basis.
    • Clean blower, filler and mixer and areas surrounding it.
    • Clean filter v700 for base cooling as soon as possible after start of shift
    • Clean all sensors on-line till past check mat including check mat cameras as soon as possible after start of shift
    • Help with maintenance of preform hopper, preform conveyors, blower, filler, and mixer as per instruction of     the  maintenance manager on maintenance day
    • Receive your area as in point 5 in a clean, running condition
    • Hand your area as in point 5 over in a clean, running condition
    • Report any faults or problems asap
    • Put your own preforms while preform loader is on lunch
    •  No lunch during flavour change
    •  Line 2
    • Do size change as per sop for blower moulds and filler star wheels.
    • Make 100% sure that everything is right by jogging the machine and checking the area where changes took     place
    • Set the conveyors, checkmat and sensors for specific size till the first flowbin. Run a bottle.
    • Documentation as per QMS
    • Waste Management
    •  Autonomous maintenance Level 1 - 4
    • Machine process specific
    • Breakdown management
    • Time to detect, time to correct
    • General cleaning standards obtained and sustained

    •  Ensure that the Critical Control Points (CCP 1) are measured, monitored  and verified at predetermined frequencies as per the SOP.

    Yard Cleaner

    Introduction

    • The goal is to keep the yard clean and in an orderly condition.

    Job description

    • To clean all areas in the yard and other areas designated to the cleaner and make sure it is done with the right equipment and the right tools

    • Observe any issues and report to Supervisor 
    • Do not waste cleaning materials

    • Daily cleaning of site – papers, pallets and boards picked up 
    • Follow housekeeping standards 
    • Assist in washing trucks 
    • Lock away after each shift. 
    • Report any issues immediately (shortages, damages, etc.)  
    • Ensure PPE is worn at all times 
    • Keep workplace neat and tidy at all times
