    ICE Technician

    JOB PURPOSE

    • To ensure the reliable and safe operation of all instrumentation and control systems on site. The ICE Technician will proactively maintain instrumentation and control systems, respond to breakdowns, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance plant performance, availability, and efficiency.

    WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

    Instrumentation Maintenance

    • Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on various instrumentation, PLC panels, Marshalling Boxes and actuators.
    • Calibrate, Diagnose and repair faults on field devices (level probes, moisture meter, load cell transmitters, temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, weighfeeders, and other ICE  equipment)
    • Maintain and update all electrical and instrumentation documentation including wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and PLC I/O lists.

    Automation System Support

    • Support the performance and reliability of PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens S7, Foxboro I/A Series DCS, Allen Bradley, etc.).
    • Conduct PLC fault-finding using diagnostic tools and software.
    • Troubleshooting of fieldbus networks (e.g Profinet, Profibus, AS-I etc)
    • Assist in uploading and downloading PLC/HMI programs during device replacement or software updates.

    Shift Support & Breakdown Response

    • Provide rapid and effective technical support during shift breakdowns to minimize downtime.
    • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Maintain communication with production and engineering teams to coordinate repair work during operations.
    • Coach and support artisans and operators on first line troubleshooting

    Compliance and Safety

    • Ensure all work is carried out safely and complies with site safety standards and Unilever safety policies (LOTOTO, Permit to Work, Electrical Safety, etc.).
    • Conduct inspections and audits on safety-critical electrical systems.
    • Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification.

    Asset Care & Continuous Improvement

    • Participate in equipment reliability and process improvement projects.
    • Contribute to process control efficiency initiatives.
    • Use CMMS (e.g. BuildApp, SAP PM) to record work orders, history, and spares usage accurately.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • National/Advanced Diploma and Trade Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering.
    • At least 3+ years solid Instrumentation and Control experience in an FMCG environment.
    • Strong understanding of Siemens (WinCC, TIA Portal, Simatic S7) and Rockwell (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE) Control Systems
    • Good understanding of Foxboro DCS and general SCADA systems
    • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams (e.g. Loop drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs) schematics, and manuals
    • Ability to install, configure and calibrate process instrumentation (e.g load cells, temperature probes, level transmitters, etc)
    • Knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems standards
    • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices.
    • Understand interaction of equipment and systems and diagnose electronic/electrical and pneumatic systems.
    • Express ideas clearly (verbal and written) and work from verbal and written instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, work orders and specifications.

    Skills

    • Strong instrumentation, control systems and fieldbus networks troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Good interpersonal skills

    UFS Finance Manager - SA

    JOB PURPOSE

    • The FS country finance manager, as one of the key players in the local UFS South Africa leadership team, is expected to support and identify business opportunities; facilitate key business decision making process, drive investment efficiency and well manage P&L to a healthy/ sustainable shape.
    • Ensure accuracy of monthly financial forecast by leading and ensuring a robust Country S&OP financial forecast.
    • Managing month end closing, forecasting and reporting activities; following up actions for financial performance
    • Partner with UFS South Africa leadership and teams to drive business delivery to achieve financial targets.
    • Partner with Marketing teams on in-market projects (innovations, renovations) to support growth
    • Provide insight and analysis to all relevant stakeholders (Country and BU LT) on monthly results and forecasts
    • Analyze financial results and key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate results to Leadership Team.
    • Facilitate and crafting financial strategic planning and risk management for the country.
    • Be responsible to proactively manage the entire P&L for FS South Africa to achieve business targets.
    • Develop progressive plans and initiate necessary actions with the business to capture growth opportunities and GM improvement opportunities.
    • Use in depth insights and analysis to do dynamic resources allocation and budget management.
    • Drive investment efficiency (TTS,BMI,OVH) and build ROMI mindset in the business.
    • Identify major risks and opportunities and manage with leadership team.
    • Ensure FS related financial controls are well managed and mitigation actions in place.
    • Well engage with regional/local finance share service teams or Service Hubs to ensure sufficient support to drive FS business.

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Professional finance qualification MBA, CA, CIMA, ACCA is preferred.
    • Have experienced multiple subfunctions in Finance Unilever with 5+ years experience in financial, operational and business partnering roles.
    • Problem-solving skills, ability to make reliable judgments and conclusions
    • Excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to respond under pressure
    • Excellent commercial acumen & strong business partnering skills. 
    • Owner’s mindset towards business challenges. Ability to tackle complex situations, evaluate alternative courses of action, and provide fact-based solutions. 
    • Local internal talent is preferred

    ICE Technician - Durban

    JOB PURPOSE

    WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

    • Preventative maintenance, Back up all software related equipment, Cyber security, Dfos
    • basic repairs and ensure efficient operation of equipment and production of a quality product. Perform all work in compliance with established safety, GMP and UMS standards.
    • Respond to breakdowns and other issues brought to the attention of Maintenance (by supervision, operators or other personnel) as needed during operations, in a way that minimizes operational delays.
    • Troubleshoot, fine tune or adjust equipment to insure proper operation.
    • Routine visual inspection and/or testing of equipment and structures to identify and report any need for scheduled repairs.
    • Instrumentation, Electrical and Control work.
    • Interpret and work from schematics and electrical drawings.
    • Installation and alignment of machinery and equipment.
    • Participate in continuous improvement (WCM,TPM,UMS or similar activity).
    • Follow established department and plant procedures, including (but not limited to) those related to preventive maintenance systems, obtaining parts, and taking corrective action when hazardous or potential loss conditions are found.
    • Keeps tools, equipment and work area safe, clean and orderly. At all times work safely around equipment, tools and co-workers.

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Minimum N4 qualification plus trade test OR National Diploma/Btech in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    • Full understanding on Control systems.
    • Understanding of Networks protocols, PLC’s, Scada development, Batch, servo and AC drives, Allen Bradley will be advantageous
    • Must have 5 years’ experience in manufacturing preferably with FMCG exposure in manufacturing process and packing.(Soap making experience will be advantageous)
    • Ability to perform all duties associated with position, with minimal supervision.
    • Full understanding on Control systems
