Role responsibilities

• Responsible for design and modelling within municipal services realm – from planning to   detailed design and construction drawings specific to land development and municipal infrastructure.  (Roads, stormwater, water, sewer, telecoms, bulk earthworks)
• Assist in the preparation of project specifications, BoQ’s, cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Prepare reports required by the project, implementation of all relevant codes of practice and ensuring that all work complies with Zutari ‘s quality control procedures and is implemented
• Knowledge and experience of working with relevant engineering codes, standards, and practices and specifically SANS 1200.
• Must be able to work well in a team to support the Project Leader but should also have the capability to take the lead on project designs.
• Ensure the quality of drawings produced and that the required drawing standards are maintained
• Undertake construction supervision duties where required.
• Deliver excellent client service and experience when presented with the opportunity
• Excellent communication skills (proven ability to interact well with personnel at all organizational levels) 
• Excellent organisational skills (ability to plan and implement) and time management skills. 
• Confident, well-spoken, disciplined, detail and deadline / delivery orientated.

Minimum requirements

• BEng/BSc/BTech or equivalent in Civil Engineering.  
• A post-graduate qualification will be advantageous. 
• Registered as an Engineer-in-training or Technologist-in-training with ECSA or proof of submission of application.  
• A minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience on Land Infrastructure projects. Experience should entail working on projects across their full lifecycle, i.e., planning through to the end of construction. 
• Proficient in MS Office Suite products. Knowledge in MS Projects will be advantageous. 
• Project Management and construction related experience in civil engineering projects. 
• Must be AutoCAD proficient.
• Must be Civil 3D proficient - in terms of the design of civil services and earthworks.

Role overview

• Zutari’s digital advisory team is expanding its data team, developing innovative solutions for clients across infrastructure sectors like energy, transport, water, and buildings. They collaborate with BIM and IoT teams to connect static 3D and asset data with real-time information to create digital twins. 

Role responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and data engineers/scientists on several concurrent projects. 
• Extract and organise raw data from different sources e.g. Building Information Modelling (BIM), IOT and ERP systems.  
• Design and implement data architectures and pipelines.  
• Data analysis and BI dashboards  
• Identify and building machine learning/AI proof of concepts  

Minimum requirements

• A “can-do” attitude, passion for using data in engineering domains.  
• Bachelor’s degree (engineering or computer science)  
• At least 4 years’ experience in data engineering/ data science.  
• Fluent in Python, object-oriented design and development, unit testing, Git version control  
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases and data warehousing  
• Good writing and presentation skills 

The following will be considered advantageous:  

• Master’s or higher qualification  
• Construction or manufacturing industry experience

• Experience with building with ML/AI tools.
