    Head: Contracts Management

    Job Requirements

    • A relevant Honours degree in Law or a four-year professional Law qualification (LLB).
    • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Contract Management and Procurement Legislation, particularly as it applies to higher education institutions.

    Duties:

    • Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and monitoring of robust contracts to ensure efficient service delivery.
    • Provide and manage both formal and informal legal opinions on matters related to contracts.
    • Maintain and manage the contract database for all institutional agreements.
    • Offer legal support to the Bid Specification Committee and Bid Evaluation Committee.
    • Perform administrative functions within the department as required.

    Lecturer NGAP (Phase 11) Recreation - (1551)

    Job Requirements

    • nGAP lecturers will be appointed on the university's staff establishment as permanent staff at the outset of employment, subject to satisfactory performance. The nGAP involves the recruitment, support, and retention of highly capable young scholars as new academics in the following discipline. The university has a vacant position in Recreation and Leisure Studies.
    • The nGAP Programme provides a wonderful supporting environment for aspirant academics to complete their studies while developing teaching and learning, research and innovation, as well as community engagement skills.

    The following generic criteria are applicable:

    • Interest in becoming an academic Be 40 years or younger Evidence of eligibility to undertake postgraduate study at a Doctoral level Be willing to commit to placement at the University of Venda for the full eight years of the programme consisting of three years of development, three years of induction as an academic and two years as a fully inducted academic.

    Requirements:

    • MSc in Recreation and Leisure Studies or an MA in Sport, Recreation and Exercise Science with an average pass mark of 70% Eligibility and willingness to register and complete a Doctoral degree in the relevant field of specialization during the first three years of employment as an nGAP Lecturer Teaching and research ability is highly recommended Ability to work independently and collaboratively in discharging duties Computer literacy

    Duties:

    LECTURER nGAP

    • The University of Venda seeks to fill a Lecturer position in the New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP), a programme initiated by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a component of the Staffing South Africa’s Universities Framework( SSAUF).  
    • nGAP Lecturer will be appointed on the university's staff establishment as permanent staff at the outset of employment, subject to satisfactory performance. The nGAP involves the recruitment, support, and retention of highly capable young scholars as new academics in the above-mentioned discipline.

    • Master’s degree in Business Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science degree with an average percentage of at least 70.     Duties:  

    • Lecture students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the following areas: Database Concepts, cybersecurity & blockchain, AI & robotics, Programming (with good knowledge of most of the following: Python, Java, .NET, C#, C++), Internet and Web Design Technology (good knowledge of Javascript, PHP, HTML, CSS), Database Systems Management (SQL & No SQL Databases, Oracle DB), Data Mining & Warehousing, Project Management, Mobile and Wireless Information Systems, Business Intelligence Systems, Management Information Systems, Enterprise Database Systems, Research Methodology and other modules in the department for undergraduate programmes.

    Head: Committee Section - (1526)

    Job Requirements

    • Honours degree in Business or Public Administration, Corporate Governance, Law, or related field or alternatively a Post Graduate Diploma (NQF level 8) with specialization in Governance or Company Secretaryship. 
    • A minimum of seven (7) years' relevant experience in committee administration, governance, law, or corporate services.
    • Proven experience in a managerial/supervisory position managing multiple committees in a higher education sector.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of digital governance tools, board portals.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
    • Professional registration/ accreditation, where applicable. 

    Duties

    • Provide oversight of Committee Administration services
    • Ensure that meetings are scheduled in line with Annual University Year Plan
    • Ensure that meetings are conducted in line with statute / terms of reference / consti-tutions / charters in terms of quorum, constitution, voting procedures etc
    • Monitor terms of office of members of Council, Committees of Council and other gov-ernance structures 
    • Provide relevant support for members of Council, Committees of Council and other governance structures
    • Render secretariat function and organize meetings of committees
    • Management of records of Council and other governance structures 
    • Budgeting and resource planning, ensuring efficient financial management and sustainability.
