    Stockpile Supervisor (3 Months Fixed Term Contract) - Phalanndwa

    DESCRIPTION:

    The purpose of this role is to ensure quality control at the stockpiles and that the correct product is delivered to the client.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Grade 12
    • Computer literate with Advanced Ms Excel
    • Valid driver’s licence

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 3 years related working experience in the mining industry. 

    OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

    • Prior stockpile management experience essential
    • Good communication skills, particularly in English, with business writing skills
    • Stakeholder relationship management
    • Conflict Management
    • Knowledge of the mining industry

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure that stockpiles are built as per the Company standards.
    • Ensure proper traffic management is adhered to at the stockyard area.
    • Call the nominated laboratory for sample collection.
    • Execute any lawful and reasonable instructions from the Stockpile and Weighbridge Manager
    • Liaise with Weighbridge operators on the stockpile being loaded.
    • Responsible for risk management in the area of operation.
    • Manage the run of mine (ROM) coal.
    • Ensure sampling is done as per the required standard.

    Blasting Assistant - Bronkhorstspruit

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Grade 12 
    • Valid blasting assistant certificate 
    • Driver’s license code 10 
    • Be able to acquire a medical certificate of fitness 
    • Knowledge of opencast mining 

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Previous relevant experience 
    • Experience in a mining environment is an added advantage. 

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Comply with appointments including regulations and the Mine Health and Safety Act. 
    • Complete checklist. 
    • Assist blaster with marking of holes to be drilled. 
    • Measuring of shot holes. 
    • Offload explosives with the blaster. 
    • Priming blast holes. 
    • Monitoring of the blasting bench. 
    • Act as a guard during blasting. 
    • Good housekeeping. 
    • Participate in the mine safety program. 
    • Stemming of shot holes. 
    • Connecting of blasting rounds.

    Weighbridge Clerks - Gugulethu Colliery

    DESCRIPTION: 

    The Weighbridge Clerk will be responsible for monitoring all trucks entering and exiting mine property with and without coal, ensuring that the working area and equipment is always clean, safe, and in good working condition, and providing accurate reports for management. 

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Grade 12 
    • Computer literate 
    • Physically fit and able to pass a medical/fitness test. 

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Relevant weighbridge experience 
    • Safety experience advantageous 
    • Mining Experience is an added advantage. 

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Operate the weighbridge. 
    • Preparing daily reports on tonnage - coal received and dispatched weights loads. 
    • Maintain good customer relations and ensure customer satisfaction. 
    • Capturing data 
    • Compile sales report 
    • Filing transaction daily 
    • Apply basic security procedures. 
    • General administration 
    • Ensure that correct weighbridge documents are sent for processing. 
    • Manage archives, POD’s and reports.

    Pit Foreman - Gugulethu Colliery

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Grade 12 
    • English proficiency 
    • Valid driver’s license 
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation 
    • Knowledge of Opencast Mining management and practices 
    • Competent A 
    • Dewatering practices and management of pumping team experience 
    • Opencast Blasting Certificate (Advantage) 
    • Engineering qualifications (advantage) 

    OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: 

    • Physically fit and able to pass a medical/fitness test. 
    • Must have a clear criminal record and be willing to undergo a criminal check 
    • Sound communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to operate without supervision and be able to work under pressure.

    • Integrity, reliability, and ethics. 

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Minimum of 4 years relevant supervisory experience 
    • Experience in a coal mining environment is an added advantage.

    • Plan, organize and monitor the production process. 
    • Ensure optimal plant utilization & availability. 
    • Ensure compliance with Safety and Quality policies, procedures, and standards.

    Logistics Superintendent - Gugulethu Colliery

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Grade 12 
    • Relevant tertiary qualification 
    • Computer literate (MS Office package) 
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities. 
    • Must be familiar with coal processing, stockpiling and logistics processes. 
    • Advanced Coal prep certificate will be an advantage. 
    • Able to work irregular hours 
    • Must be focused and pay attention to detail. 

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • At least 5 years of relevant managerial experience in logistics, stock control, and quality control for coal. Coal Mining experience is an added advantage.

    Logistics Administrator - Gugulethu Colliery

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Grade 12 or N2 Certificate 
    • Relevant tertiary qualification 
    • Computer literate (MS Office package) 
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities. 
    • Must be familiar with Logistics processes.

    • Trucks scheduling. 
    • Complete and submit the Transnet electronic booking spreadsheet and send it to Transnet Planning. 
    • Oversee my access control and WhatsApp queries (to project manage all scanner exceptions to acceptable levels and report). 
    • Log calls with Nimbus Support 
    • Quality Composites sheet analysis (MPT, RBTG, TCM) Daily. Train on quality readings and out-of-specs to be immediately communicated to FBI to commence audit procedure request. Close off each matter within 48 hours. 
    • Train reporting and Sandbox completion (Daily)
