    Occupational Health Practitioner Midlands

    Your mission

    • To provide and deliver occupational health and wellness programs, services and support employees and contractor employees located in the Midlands Forests Region.
    • Co-ordinate Business Unit (BU) Occupational Health Programme – a legal requirement
    • Co-ordinate BU Primary Health Care Programme with mobile clinic
    • Manage Chronic Diseases and all related wellness matters
    • Co-ordinate BU Ergonomic Risk Assessments
    • Monitor compliance with health-related legislation and Mondi standards
    • Monitor and analyse health trends and reporting on health campaigns and Peer programs
    • Manage IOD’s at the time of the incident and during rehabilitation
    • Conduct Occupational Health audits on occupational health service providers and contractors
    • Conduct Hygiene Surveys and Forestry related audits
    • Co-ordinate specific Wellness Programmes to support the business

    Your profile

    • Post graduate Diploma / Degree in Occupational Health Nursing registered with SANC
    • Desirable: Basic Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support, and International Trauma Life Support Training
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner
    • Occupational Health Professional Body (SASOHN) membership
    • CFP Professional OHP Indemnity
    • Possess the ability to network and foster relationships with internal and externally stakeholders
    • Manage emergencies and have high levels of work flexibility on demand
    • Computer literacy (MS Office Package) is essential
    • Ability to work under pressure, independently and outside of normal office hours

    Boilermaker (Fixed Term Contract)

    Your mission:

    • Perform specialised boilermaking technical duties in the operation on plant and equipment related to; fabricate, maintain, service, overhaul, repair, construct, install, dismantle, fit. This will include; manufacturing components according to drawings
    • Perform diagnostic duties by executing actions related to; test, inspect, troubleshoot and fault find, check, measure, record, etc. to achieve outcomes such as reducing downtime, minimize breakdowns, improving availability of plant and equipment. Inspections on tanks, steel and  pipework.
    • Record technical data on completed work for use in planning system
    • Perform tasks such carrying out boiler-making maintenance and repairs as safely according to operating procedures and policy
    • Perform and execute preventative maintenance duties on equipment and plant

    Your profile:

    • Secondary Grade 12 / N3 or as prescribed for the boilermaking trade as entry level ( grade 10 and /or RPL according to SAQA)
    • Qualified trade tested as a boiler maker.
    • Relevant legislative qualification for pressure vessels and familiar with all equipment supplier criteria and compliance requirements
    • 2 – 3 years’ experience as a qualified Boilermaker in a manufacturing plant with compliance to specific supplier equipment requirements within the Pulp and Paper industry.
    • Code 08 / EB license
    • All relevant plant required licenses

    Fitter (Fixed Term Contract)

    our mission:

    • Perform specialized fitting duties in the operations on plant and equipment related to fitting repair and maintenance services as well as preventative maintenance on components. 
    • Perform fitting diagnostic duties by executing actions related to; test, inspect, troubleshoot and fault find, check, measure, record, etc. to achieve outcomes such as reducing downtime, minimize breakdowns, improving availability of plant and equipment.
    • Activate periodical prescribed audits and inspections to minimise risks of failure

    • Perform and execute preventative maintenance duties on equipment and plant

    Your profile:

    • Secondary Grade 12 or as prescribed for the Fitter trade as entry level ( grade 10 and /or RPL according to SAQA)
    • Qualified trade tested as a Fitter 
    • 2 – 3 Years’ experience as a qualified, trade tested Fitter within a manufacturing industry.

    Your profile:

    • Secondary Grade 12 or as prescribed for the specific trade as entry level ( grade 10 and /or RPL according to SAQA)
    • Qualified trade tested as a Instrumentation mechanician.
    • To be familiar with all equipment supplier criteria and compliance requirements to ensure that warranties on vehicles and equipment is maintained
    • 2 – 3 years’ experience as an apprentice instrumentation artisan within a manufacturing environment preferably within the pulp and paper industry
    • Relevant equipment licenses as required by the operations

    Your mission

    • Reporting to the Snr Silviculture Forester the incumbent in this position will assist with the management of forestry plantations in the respective area.
    • Manage contractors (mainly silviculture but also roads and security)
