Duties and Responsibilities:
Legal Services, community engagement, social responsiveness
- Manage all matters from time of consultation until such time as a matter is litigated, closed or referred.
- Consult with clients and offer legal advice and guidance to clients.
- Draft pleadings and correspondences.
- Research the law and draft legal opinions.
- Maintain relationships with clients and keep them updated on their matters.
- Attend to court matters including appearances in court.
- Remain abreast of developments in the legal and policy environments.
- Indexing and Pagination of court files.
- Preparation for court.
- General admin (office and court) including follow up calls, reminders of consults, filing and serving etc.
- Engaging with law students (as part of their clinical law experience);
- Assist the Supervising Attorney with the monitoring of students performing work integrated learning in the Law Clinic.
- Attending community workshops and Advice Desks.
- Draft registers and reports for Advice Desks
- Prepare posters for marketing purposes and to advertise for Advice Desks.
- Draft registers for Advice Desks to keep a record of each client/matter.
- Assist with student feedback and correction of tasks.
- Attend events hosted by the School of Law e.g. the Law Careers Fair.
- Attend events hosted by the Law Clinic.
- Engage with the Juridical Society.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of a law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.

Key Performance Areas:
- The selected candidate will be responsible for managing all reported plagiarism cases on campus with a particular focus on upskilling students in a supportive and developmental manner.
- The Intellectual Integrity Officer (IIO) will work with the Information Specialists to promote good referencing practices. This includes initiatives to adequately support and develop undergraduate and postgraduate students’ referencing and academic writing skills.
- The IIO will be at the forefront of leading out intellectual integrity and must be able to guide, motivate and develop lecturers’ approach to intellectual integrity. This includes lecturer training and support in identifying academic dishonesty, interpreting similarity reports, and flagging students.
- Identifying areas that require development for the improvement of intellectual integrity and the overall quality of academic writing on campus. This could include workshops, training, and additional resources offered in combination with the writing- and information centers.
- Investigate flagged assessments to fairly determine the type of offense and its outcomes, where applicable.
- The Intellectual Integrity Officer will liaise with students, lecturers, the academic team, and the Results Centre to ensure all reported cases are finalized and results captured on time based on module-specific deadlines.
- Face-to-face consultations with students when investigating academic dishonesty and communicating the outcome thereof.
- Following up on outstanding documentation and marks related to flagged cases.
- Responsible for ensuring all student notes are captured and the relevant documentation uploaded on the academic system.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Any related degree qualification with a strong focus on Communication and Language (English).
Minimum Experience Required:
- Previous teaching experience is preferred
- Knowledge of plagiarism practices, interpreting similarity reports, and the Harvard Referencing Style is essential.
- Knowledge of APA and Legal Referencing styles (footnotes) would be advantageous.
- Experience in research on a postgraduate level will be advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing Administration
- Accurate capturing of prospective student information, appointment forms and applications onto STASY and all applicable reports.
- Capturing all leads into the relevant campaigns (interest cards, Online applications, Online enquiries, walk-ins).
- Working co-operatively with the Head: Student Recruitment with respect to all database statistics for marketing reports i.e. (Presentation Trackers and all relevant sales reports).
- Responsible for all marketing stock and promotional materials.
- Ensuring that all interview rooms are stocked with appropriate marketing collateral.
- Assisting Students Advisors with all database administration and associated correspondence.
- Responsible for the integrity of data across all systems relating to the information for prospective prospective students and applicants. Work closely with Sales Analyst to ensure reports balance and all information is accurately captured.
General Activities
- Provide support as needed for planning of events such as open days and career fairs etc.
- Calling to support the student recruitment team in peak periods, this includes database calling, as well as calling of interviews & applicants as required by the Head: Student Recruitment to support the Student Advisors.
- Any ad hoc duties as stipulated from time-to-time by the Head: Student Recruitment.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
- Matric essential, relevant 3 year Diploma/Degree is recommended however not essential.
