JOB PURPOSE: 

• To assist with vessel deck & fishing operations
• Assist with lookout duties.

JOB DIMENSION:       

• Assist with rigging requirements.
• Assist with net rigging & repairs.
• Assist with splicing of wires and ropes when required.
• Assist with lookout duties when required.
• Assist with factory operations.
• Assist with any other deck activities, i.e cleaning, painting, crane operation, chipping, routine maintenance of deck and rigging equipment.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• In possession of a SAMSA Able Seamen COC
• Medically fit to work at sea.
• Proof of Seafarer Medical Certificate (valid or expired)

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Interpersonal skills
• Good Communication skills
• Ability to work with wire, rope, nets & rigging blocks.
• Crane operation
• Look out knowledge.

JOB PURPOSE: 

• Monitor and assist with bridge watchkeeping and administration.
• To ensure safe Deck operation, maintenance of all fishing and rigging gear.             

JOB DIMENSION:       

• Assist as an officer for watch keeping.
• Ensure that the vessel adhere to SAMSA & HACCP standards.
• Assist with stock control for fishing gear, rigging blocks and consumables.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• In possession of a SAMSA Deck officer COC
• Medically fit to work at sea – (no limitations)
• Proof of Seafarer Medical Certificate (valid or expired)

• Minimum B-comm degree
• Accounting Diploma majoring in Management Accounting

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Good computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excell
• Persistence, administrative skills, attention to detail.
• Accuracy, methodical, responsive and the ability to function independently and under pressure
