    General Reporting Coordinator

    Job Description

    Should you be successful you will be under the leadership of the General accounting Superintendent, and you will be required to complete the following activities in accordance with agreed service levels:

    • Team management (coaching, performance management, resource allocation and training) and succession planning. Participating in setting and achieving team objectives to support a high-performance culture.
    • Ensure that the integrity of the preparation of AFS and statutory returns are maintained through the appropriate control checks and thorough reviews, ensuring review queries are investigated/escalated and cleared. Servicing multiple business units with volume hence time management is critical to ensure operational effectiveness.
    • Follow appropriate procedures to accurately, consistently and efficiently capture transactions or resolve queries. Ensure that issues and incidents are logged, driving implementation of actions.
    • Facilitate appropriate stakeholder engagements to manage SLA deliverables (OPR meetings held monthly).
    • Drive compliance to audit findings and ensure quality implementation.
    • Accurate and timeous submission of AFS as per the agreed timelines with the BU for sign off with the board.
    • Provide guidance and support to the team with complex accounting transactions and reporting.
    • Coordinate the Wdesk tagging of all related AFS with compliance to all new updates to ensure successful submissions to CIPC.
    • Full responsibility for monthly and yearly statutory submissions for all related BU.
    • Manage monthly submissions in HFM as well outlooks and budgets to ensure accurate and timeous reporting of management accounts.
    • Manage the EMEA Month end and reporting function.
    • Ensure monthly journals are processed accurately for all related BU and Integrity of the respective general ledgers are maintained with rigorous reviews and investigation on queries.
    • Responsible for managing the maintenance and ensuring the accuracy, completeness and validity of the chart of Accounts on SAP requested by BU.
    • Managing transition Projects from the BU that affect EMEA, COA and AFS scope of services.
    • Full responsibility of the continuous update of the control matrix which includes DTP&SOP which for all areas which serves as internal control for the Business area.
    • Any other tasks as and when required.
    • Drive adherence to safety

    Qualifications

    • A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification.
    • Bcom Accounting / Hons in Accounting (Advantageous) (With 3-5 years post articles experience).

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • With at least 3 years managerial level.
    • SAICA(AGA) Required accounting body accreditation would be beneficial.

    Knowledge specific to the role:

    • Working knowledge of IFRS
    • Working knowledge of Companies Act and statutory financial reporting Finance
    • Tax
    • IFRS
    • SAP
    • Hyperion Financial Management
    • Wdesk
    • Caseware
    • Blackline (Advantageous but not mandatory)

    Senior Accountant Operations

    Job Description

    The Senior Accountant Operations will develop a deep understanding of the KPIs and cost drivers that impact our business performance.

    You will also be responsible to:

    • Work side-by-side with discipline Managers & Superintendents to develop budgets, e.g., by providing insights into financial data and consolidating inputs
    • Support preparation of financial forecasts, taking into account past performance and forward looking risks and opportunities
    • Support tracking of discipline financial performance against plan
    • Collaborate with discipline to develop risk register, proactively providing financial evaluation (cost/capital) of risk mitigation strategies
    • Collaborate with discipline management to identify cost improvement opportunities
    • Perform quality check on variance analysis
    • Provide & discuss discipline-specific financial reports
    • Ensure that processes are established and standardized to allow for trend analysis, correct pigeon holing, feasibility studies, and cost control
    • Ensure application / adherence / communication of standard costing rules
    • Training, mentoring and support of all staff

    This role is in the Operations Department and at a band 6 level reporting to the Financial Specialist.

    Qualifications

    You will need the following:

    • Relevant degree in finance or related
    • CFA, CA(SA) or ACMA will be advantageous

    Experience needed:

    • At least 5 years’ experience in a financial or analytical role preferably within the mining industry
    • Managing a team/leadership experience
    • Excel will be needed for the role
    • SAP (ERP) experience
    • BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation)
