    2024 - Graduate - Investment Banking

    Roles 

    Your role will be hands-on from day one, allowing you to develop your skills quickly and be an integral member of our team. Investment Banking graduates perform research and analysis, financial modelling and valuation, and preparation of investment materials and presentations. By supporting senior bankers in our mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and Industry teams, you'll learn to develop significant multi-product and sector-specific expertise in cross-border deals including: 

    • Execution of end-to-end corporate finance transactions (both M&A and financing)
    • Developing detailed financial models to value companies and evaluate performance under a variety of scenarios, as well as analysing potential M&A or capital market transactions.
    • Preparing presentation materials for clients covering M&A execution, capital market activity, and general corporate finance
    • Contributing to the origination and execution of transactions, including due diligence and marketing materials
    • Researching and benchmarking companies, industries, and countries
    • Coordination of bank-wide deal team members
    • Providing daily project management and execution support for live transactions

    • Four days of classroom instruction on our products, our business, and our bankers
    • On-the-job training and technical seminars to support your learning
    • Performance reviews and support of managers, mentors, and buddies 
    • Presentations by senior management (speaker series) and engagement with executive management
    • Networking within the CCIB business function and across divisions
    • Engaging in community service

    • Presentations by senior management (speaker series) and engagement with executive management

    • Engaging in community service

    Roles
    As a Summer Intern you’ll be placed in:

    • Commercial Real Estate (CRE)
    • Global Industry Groups (GIG) or,
    • Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) team

    You’ll assume the role of a graduate to learn research and analysis, financial modelling and valuation, and the preparation of investment materials and presentations. You’ll support our bankers in the origination and execution of transactions across our advisory business and gain multi-product and sector-specific learning.

    Client Coverage roles

    Our industry leading bankers will help you join one of the specialties below. As part of our assessment process, we help you learn more about the opportunities and determine which best suits your skills, attributes, and interests. Through either opportunity, you’ll gain hands-on experience and become an integral part of the team.

    Assistant Relationship Managers support Senior Relationship Managers in the execution of deals, coordination between clients and product partners, and account planning and business approvals. Sales responsibilities will be assigned to you, and you'll work with multiple stakeholders to identify opportunities.

    Credit Analysts assist Relationship Managers in managing risk, structuring deals, and monitoring existing clients. You’ll gain a deep understanding of our CCIB products and how they are structured. You'll also conduct credit, financial, and industry risk analysis, as well as learn about environmental, sustainability, and reputational risk types and how we manage them.

    Traders make market positions and buy and sell securities on behalf of clients and the Bank. To navigate market dynamics and balance profit and risk considerations, excellent mathematical skills are necessary.

    Structuring specialises in modelling and complex asset classes and creating, pricing, and marketing complicated products to clients. From marketing strategies to trade execution, they partner with sales and trading colleagues.

    Our research roles provide data-driven investment opportunities, market insights, and risk management advice to the trading floor through in-depth analysis and insight across assets and markets.
