Job Description:

• Create project accounts in the accounting system
• Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
• Review and approve supplier invoices related to a project
• Review account totals related to project assets and expenses
• Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
• Report on project profitability to management
• Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers
• Approve the write-off of any project-related billings that cannot be billed to or collected from customers
• Close out project accounts upon project completion
• Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required

This is a 12 month contract, thus preference will be given to individuals looking to work on a contract base only.

Qualifications:

• Matric
• Diploma in Finance
• Minimum 1-3 year’s project accounting experience

Skills:

• Advanced Excel
• Previous experience within a mining or construction environment would be beneficial.

• Ownership of the costing function
• Benchmarking cositing principles and idetify opportunities for new strategies to follow
• Manage and mitigate risks regarding costing function
• Identify and implement cost saving initiatives

• B. Com
• CIMA (Strategic level) preferred
• Knowledge of IAS, Oracle, Hubble, procurement processes, accounting procedures
• Advanced excel
• 7-9 years' experience in costing function would be beneficial
