    Senior Finance Manager

    Job Purpose

    • Reporting directly into the Head: Group Reporting. The Senior Manager is responsible for Group Statutory and Regulatory reporting for the Life, Short term and Group Companies as well as providing technical support to the finance function and business units. Coordinate and manage the Group Statutory and Regulatory Reporting, providing guidance to business unit finance on inputs required for reporting, accounting standards updates, and technical assistance where needed. Responsible for the development of all team members and capability of these functions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drive Performance Management Framework and drive the outcomes as agreed and defined to meet the Group KPI. Provide strategic financial support in assessing business performance by monitoring the key regulatory risks, including insurance ratios, and other governance and risk management practices
    • Oversee the Group for all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements of the Hollard Group including but not limited to annual financial statements for all Hollard Licenses, Hollard Fundco and Hollard Holdings as well as finance inputs into License and Group regulatory returns
    • Provide Finance leadership on Process Efficiency, Business Performance Measures and Management, Analytical Support and Predictive Analysis
    • Ensure financial controls are designed, implemented, and managed within the financial reporting environment
    • Management of license level budgets across the Hollard Group
    • Provide technical accounting support to business units and drive implementation of technical standards in the Hollard Group
    • Research of changes to statutory and regulatory reporting requirements and responsible for the development of Hollard actions in response to the changes in particular to IFRS17
    • Manage the External audit relationship, coordinate the audit process as well as deliverables to Audit Committee
    • Manage the preparation of the consolidated Annual Financial Statements
    • Coordinate regulatory reporting from a finance perspective (Prudential Authority, South African Reserve Bank)
    • Drive balance sheet management across the Group
    • Custodian of Hollard Group Financial and non financial Reporting tools
    • Demonstrate overall Finance Leadership for Group and ownership of the overall Group finances
    • Execution of the Group Reporting Working day Timetable
    • Management the audit relationship.

    Required Knowledge and Experience    
    Required Experience

    • A minimum of 7-8 years post articles experience
    • 7 years management experience, of which a minimum of 4 at a senior management level
    • Insurance Industry experience essential.

    Required Knowledge and Skills

    • Knowledge of accounting packages, systems and controls including reporting and budgeting (Great Plains / HFM / Hyperion Planning)
    • Exceptional business acumen and broad business knowledge
    • In depth knowledge of financial accounting and related processes
    • Excellent IFRS and International accounting standards
    • Strong Experience in Regulations for Insurance Groups

    Accountant

    Job Purpose

    • Reporting directly into the Finance Manager responsible for the Hollard Group financial reporting with a heavy matrix to the Senior Finance Manager and ultimately the Head of Group Reporting, this role is responsible for the end-to-end financial and regulatory reporting function and providing technical support to the business units.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all internal and external financial reporting requirements.
    • Manage and oversee the month-end-close process and collaborate with actuarial and tax teams for accurate financial reports.
    • Review Business Performance Measures and provide analytical support to the Group Reports
    • Provide financial support in assessing business performance by monitoring the key financial metrics, key ratios, regulatory risks, insurance reserving and other governance and risk management practices
    • Provide financial support in the Group wide financial planning and forecasting process across the Hollard Group
    • Prepare and coordinate the regulatory reporting for Group (PA, SARB etc)
    • Stakeholder Support: Actuarial, Tax and provide support to divisions and the external audit process.
    • Preparation of the consolidated annual financial statements
    • Research of changes to statutory and regulatory reporting requirements and responsible for the development of Hollard actions in response to the changes
    • Provide technical accounting support to business units and drive implementation of technical standards
    • Project Support: Key player in group financial reporting projects: IFRS 17 Implementation / Adhoc projects

    Required Knowledge and Experience

    Newly qualified CA  
    Insurance Industry experience preferable
