    Finance Director

    Purpose of the Position:

    • The Finance Director will be the primary point of contact to oversee all financial aspects of the organisation. Responsible for the overall Financial Management for all projects across the organisation including: project bookkeeping, reporting, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, administration, sub-recipients/sub-partners, payroll and staff management. Oversees the finance team, payroll team and the grants and compliance/legal team.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Chartered Accountant CA(SA) or Honours degree in business management/administration with a mix of relevant experience and;
    • strong knowledge and experience of relevant legal frameworks.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position or management position.
    • Experience and knowledge of the public sector, specifically large international donors (CDC, USAID, Pepfar, Global Fund) (preferred).
    • Clear criminal record.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Lead and manage finance, payroll, and compliance/legal functions

    • Act as a primary point of contact for all finance related tasks for the organisation.
    • Develop policies aligned with the organisations goals and sound financial management practices.
    • Provide support to the board as an invited member to board and/or sub-committee meetings.
    • Work closely and collaboratively with all interfacing departments and provide relevant guidance and monitoring where applicable.
    • Contribute toward systems implementation, maintenance and improvements within support functions.

    Oversee Financial Management and Accounting

    • Cashbook processing and journals.
    • Bank processing, reconciliations and reviews.
    • Reconciliation of creditors and debtors.

    Oversee Auditing and Reviews

    • Submission of SARS returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF).
    • Preparation and execution of statutory organisational audits.
    • Funder specific audits.

    Stakeholder Management and engagement

    • Build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.

    Grants and Compliance

    • Oversee the accurate and timeous management of partners contacts, budgets, compliance and administration.
    • Create a strong internal control environment that mitigates financial risks for the organisation.

    Oversee and Manage the Full Payroll Department and Function

    • Support the system development and system management to enable payroll to perform their duties.
    • Monthly review and sign off on payroll.

    POPIA Privacy Champion

    • Serve as the POPIA privacy champion for all relevant departments that are overseen.

    Product Manager

    Key Responsibilities:

    Enhance products supporting a Digital Publishing business

    • Ensure products remain of a high standard by interpreting, guiding and refining requirements.
    • Coming up with innovative concepts to ultimately enhance existing or create new Digital Publishing products to improve the user experience.
    • Collaborate with our tech teams to spec requirements where necessary
    • Keep abreast of the development of new technologies, trends and products, ensuring successful and timeous roll out.
    • Assist the editorial teams with operational requirements on an ad-hoc basis.

    • Troubleshoot product bugs and queries logged with the product team.

    • Proficiency to manage a diverse workload and assign priorities to tasks.
    • Familiarity and significant experience with agile and lean processes.
    • Thorough knowledge of prevailing and emerging mobile trends and technologies.

    Senior .NET Full-Stack Engineer

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with Developers, Designers and Product Owners to develop cutting edge products across the web and mobile space, using  company platforms.
    • Take the technical lead on larger, more complex projects.
    • Drive low level solution design workshops with fellow team members during whiteboard sessions.
    • Make a positive contribution to requirement workshops, or scrum events attended with a view on the broader needs of the group.
    • Mentor, groom and knowledge share amongst team members.
    • Assist and support Design, QA and the OPS teams during the various stages of the development life cycle.
    • Develop enhancements and fix bugs on existing products.

    Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • Understanding fundamental design patterns and principles (SOLID).
    • Good understanding of architectural practises.
    • Experience in RESTful API development.
    • Advanced Experience with JavaScript frameworks.
    • Client-side experience in HTML, CSS and SASS.
    • Experience in MS SQL Server and source control (Git).

    Senior Cloud Data Engineer

    Key Responsibilities:

    • You will be working primarily within the Google Cloud Environment using a variety of the tools that Google offers from Biquery and Dataproc to Kubernettes and AI Hub. You should ideally dream in Python and speak SQL. You should not be afraid to dive into dirty data and help the team make sense of it.

    Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
    • 5+ years development experience working with Python
