    Wellness Coordinator

    Qualifications and experience:

    • A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Health Promotion, Biokinetics, Public Health, Nursing, Wellness Management or relevant qualification.
    • Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
    • Appropriate valid driver’s licence.
    • Five years’ relevant work experience.

    Job purpose:

    • Initiating, organising and implementing wellness programs to improve the well-being of employees by helping them to make healthy choices to reach their full potential, to limit the burdens of disease, increase productivity and morale and to reduce the absenteeism rate in the NMBM.

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
    • Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
    • A valid Code B driver’s licence.
    • Three to four years’ relevant work experience.

    Special conditions associated with the position:

    • Must be physically fit and able-bodied.
    • Ability to bend, lift heavy objects and climb ladders and fences into pits.
    • Ability to operate in varying temperatures and environments with severe odours, tannery, sewerage drains, landfill sites, exhumations, etc.
    • Required to work outside of normal working hours and standby duties as and when required.
    • The physical attributes associated with this post necessitate that the incumbent is physically fit and able-bodied to perform the relevant functions, and as such, shortlisted candidates will be required to submit themselves to the Municipal Medical Doctor to be medically examined as part of the selection process.

    Job purpose:

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • A National Diploma in Environmental Health, B. Tech in Environmental Health will be an advantage.
    • Registration as an Environmental Health Practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
    • A valid Code B driver’s licence.
    • Six years’ relevant work experience with at least two years at supervisory level.

    Job purpose:

    • Planning, controlling and coordinating the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting sequences and outcomes associated with plans and programs designed to accomplish key service delivery objectives with respect to Environmental Health Services through the coordination of operations associated with the enforcement of laws and by-laws and maintaining the health and safety of the public in answer to the Municipality’s constitutional and other statutory obligations to ensure an environment not detrimental to human life/health, to prevent and abate environmental health nuisances and hazards and to secure the basic human rights to health of all citizens and visitors in answer to the demands of the Integrated Development Plan and the Healthy Cities approach, also performing related planning, administrative, budgetary and personnel functions.
