    Internal Senior Recruitment Consultant - Midrand

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for various positions, including technical, operational, and administrative roles
    • Utilize various sourcing methods and tools to identify and attract top talent in the industry
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand their staffing requirements and develop job description
    • Conduct thorough candidate screening, including resume reviews, interviews and background checks

    General Manager: Road Transport Operations

    Key responsibilities:

    • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead the transport operations team and develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and service quality
    • Operations Oversight:
    • Oversee daily operations of road transport, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and service delivery timelines

    Drill and Blast Manager

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Planning and Strategy:
    • Develop comprehensive drill and blast plans in collaboration with mine planning and engineering teams
    • Analyze geological data and mine designs to determine optimal drilling and blasting techniques
    • Ensure alignment of drill and blast activities with overall mine production schedules and targets
    • Continuously review and improve drilling and blasting strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
    • Operational Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate drill and blast operations, including drilling, explosives loading, and blasting activities
    • Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules to ensure uninterrupted operations

    • Quality Assurance and Performance Optimization:
    • Monitor and analyze drilling and blasting performance metrics, such as fragmentation, vibration levels, and powder factors
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements to minimize costs and maximize productivity
    • Implement corrective actions to address deviations from planned drill and blast parameters
    • Environmental and Community Relations:
    • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to drilling and blasting activities, including air and water quality standards
    • Implement measures to minimize environmental impact, such as dust suppression and noise control
    • Engage with local communities to address concerns related to drilling and blasting operations and maintain positive relations

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field
    • A valid blasting ticket
    • 5 to 10 years experience in drill and blast operations within the mining industry, preferably in coal mining
    • Strong understanding of drilling and blasting principles, techniques, and equipment
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to mine safety and environmental management
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
    • A valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle

    Blaster

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Blasting Operations:
    • Perform drilling and blasting activities according to approved blast plans and safety protocols
    • Operate drilling equipment to create blast holes of specified dimensions and angles
    • Load explosives into blast holes using proper charging techniques and equipment
    • Ensure the proper placement and stemming of explosives to achieve desired fragmentation and minimize flyrock
    • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and best practices to mitigate risks associated with blasting operations
    • Conduct pre-blast safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards
    • Implement measures to control blast vibrations, air overpressure, and flyrock to protect personnel, equipment, and nearby structures
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices as required to maintain a safe working environment
    • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on drilling and blasting equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or defects to the maintenance team for timely repairs
    • Maintain an inventory of explosives, detonators, and other blasting consumables and request replenishment as needed
    • Communication and Coordination:
    • Collaborate with the Manager and other team members to coordinate blasting activities with mine production schedules
    • Communicate effectively with drillers, supervisors, and support staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
    • Provide clear instructions to blasting assistants and helpers to facilitate safe and productive work practices
    • Environmental Stewardship:
    • Implement measures to minimize environmental impact, such as dust suppression, erosion control, and water management
    • Comply with environmental regulations and company policies related to blasting operations
    • Participate in environmental monitoring activities and report any deviations or incidents to the appropriate authorities

    Minimum requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Certification as a Blaster (Opencast)
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in drilling and blasting operations in Coal Mining
    • Knowledge of blasting techniques, explosives safety, and regulatory requirements
    • Ability to operate drilling equipment and blasting accessories safely and effectively
    • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks in a challenging work environment
    • A valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle

    GIS Geologist

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collect, process, and manage spatial data from various sources including satellite imagery, field surveys, and geological reports
    • Conduct spatial analysis and modelling to assist in the identification of geological features such as faults, mineral deposits, and landforms
    • Create detailed maps and visual representations of geological data for use in reports, presentations, and planning
    • Work closely with geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists to integrate spatial data into geological models and decision-making processes
    • Participate in field surveys to collect GPS data, geological samples, and ground-truthing for spatial data accuracy
    • Use GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and MapInfo to generate 2D and 3D models and visualizations of geological data
    • Prepare and present reports, maps, and data interpretations to management and stakeholders
    • Assist in environmental impact assessments, resource management, and land use planning by interpreting spatial data
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of GIS data through regular updates and verification processes
    • Use remote sensing techniques and imagery to analyze land cover, geology, and environmental changes

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Geography, Earth Sciences, or related field with a focus on GIS
    • Proficiency in using GIS software like ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, or similar tools for spatial data analysis and mapping
    • Proven experience in GIS and Remote Sensing data and software such as ENVI, or ERDAS IMAGINE, ideally in the mining sector
    • Proven experience in mineral exploration and natural resource management
    • Strong understanding of geological concepts, including stratigraphy, mineralogy, and geophysics
    • Ability to manage large datasets and ensure data integrity
    • Ability to produce high-quality maps and visualisations for diverse purposes
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret spatial and geological data

    Key responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts at all times
    • Receive and inspect incoming supplies, verifying quantities and quality

    • Responsible to ensure production, maintenance, recovery and cost targets are achieved
