    Assistant Transport

    Main Objectives

    • To ensure the Premier fleet is available every day, roadworthy,cost effective and on time.

    Responsibilities:

    • To ensure all defects on vehicles are reported to TAC
    • Ensure workshop bay and storeroom are clean and tidy before leaving premises
    • Vehicles to be taken and fetched from suppliers.
    • Report Accidents and damages to TAC
    • To ensure all Pre and Post trip inspections are removed from books in trucks and place them in file organizer in store
    • Availability to assist with breakdowns (after hours)
    • Ensure all vehicles are refuelled on a daily basis.
    • Assist Transport Technical Assistant with minor repairs and Breakdowns.

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Matric or equivalent qualification
    • Valid driver’s license C1, EC1 will be advantage

    Experience Requirements

    • At least 2 years fleet experience

    • Able to work in a high performance, results oriented environment
    • Ability to deliver results through regional bakery teams
    • Ability to travel when required
    • Overtime will be expected from time to time
    • Must have own transport
    • Able to work in different roles within the department from time to time
    • Energetic and physically fit

    Assistant Transport Technical

    Main Objectives

    • To ensure the Premier fleet is available every day, roadworthy, cost effective and on time.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintenance (Lube service) to be done
    • Fleet control – Daily check sheets to be done on Fleet
    • Ensure all vehicles booked for Services and taken in and collect
    • To ensure all defects are reported
    • Ensure workshop bay and storeroom are clean and tidy before leaving premises
    • To ensure all work carried out must have job card and parts – must be handed to Transport Controller to sign off
    • Report Accidents and damages to Transport Controller
    • To ensure all Pre and Post trip inspections are removed from books in trucks and place them in file organizer in store
    • Ensure monthly COF is done
    • After service inspections
    • Tyre stock control – Recon to be kept on all tyre stock
    • Fines and traffic violation control
    • Availability to do breakdown (after hours)

    Manager Despatch

    Job Description    

    • Ensure and support OTIF deliveries by ensuring that vehicles are loaded in full and on-time with quality products according to the customer requirements and pipeline.

    To ensure cost effective bakery deliveries through loading of the vehicles with the correct capacity per route through:

    • communication of the same with dispatch staff and suppliers (if needed)
    • ensuring adherence to utilization of the DRM / vehicle route allocation list received,
    • exceptions in line with the DRM SOP’s with the transport manager.
    • Prevent waste due to poor stock management through correct stock rotation as per the dispatch SOP and food safety standards.
    • To ensure a high performing dispatch team through the recruitment, training, coaching and supervision of the team responsible to dispatch good quality products on-time and in full, in line with Premier Way.
    • Improve dispatch efficiencies and reduce costs by ensure good operational process controls are in place for the:
    • Prevention of theft and damages
    • Proper crate controls and reconciliations
    • Completion of daily Off loads and returns reconciliations.
    • Daily collation of the dispatch loading requirements to inform the production schedule according to the site SOP’s and process checklists/controls.
    • Ensure timeous and fact-based management decision making through the collection, analysis and reporting of dispatch performance against agreed budget and cost parameters in order to ensure continuous improvement in collaboration with the dispatch team and relevant stakeholders

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Tertiary qualification in logistics or Supply chain management advantageous

    Experience Requirements    

    • 3-5 years’ Warehouse and inventory management experience in FMCG industry
    • 2-3 years’ Supervisory Experience

    • Budgeting and cost control processes and principles

    Continuous Improvement Practitioner

    Job Purpose

    • To support regional operational improvement initiatives utilizing the Lean Six Sigma methodology, and to support strategic black belt projects assigned to the individuals in the region.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Supports the creation of a high-performance and continuous improvement culture by coaching site champions and relevant stakeholders on Lean Six Sigma methodology and best practices for their region.
    • To ensure business continuity support site pipeline CI projects.
    • To support Lean Six Sigma candidates in their certification processes which include yellow belt, green belt, and Black belt.
    • Support Master coaches with coordination of regional Invocom half-year reviews and address regional trends with relevant stakeholders.
    • Reporting on bottom-line savings generated from identified CI projects against agreed targets on the site by verifying and validating the recording of project costs per phase with the relevant project champions and financial representatives.
    • Attend and participate in the black belt practitioner’s Invocom to ensure alignment to best practices and create alignment in the region’s Invocoms at site level through continuous coaching and guidance.
    • Attend and participate in the corporate Master Coaches Invocom to ensure alignment of best practices in the region’s Invocoms to entrench the use of the relevant methodology and present regional trends.
    • Communicate and share best practices at the Business unit reviews, regional CI Practitioner, and Lean Six Sigma practitioner’s forums to support corporate and regional initiatives, improvements, and organizational learning.

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Matric/ NQF level 4 equivalent qualification    Essential
    • Green belt lean six sigma practitioner              Essential
    • Black belt lean six sigma practitioner               Desirable

    Experience Requirements    

    • FMCG Manufacturing experience 3-5 years                      Essential
    • Invocom facilitation experience 3-5 years                         Essential
    • LSS (DMAIC) project coaching experience 3-5 years       Essential
