    Tax Services Generalist

    A career within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.

    Our team helps our clients identify and reduce tax risks, meet compliance obligations, implement tax strategies that complement business and operational objectives, resolve disagreements with tax authorities, and manage tax accounting and reporting issues.     PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Laising with clients and colleagues to provide Corporate Tax Consulting Services. 
    • Producing high level tax opinions and reports that add value to clients businesses.
    • Performing tax reviews as part of statutory audits.
    • Attending to Tax related queries from SARS.
    • Organising, monitoring and managing your own workload. You will be asked to assist Managers on large groups and ad hoc projects.
    • Researching Tax technical issues.
    • Cost, fee and debtors management, including WIP.
    • Key Internal Clients / Relationships
    • Departmental Tax team
    • National Tax team
    • Relevant firm subject matter experts
    • Portfolio Managers/Partners


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Relevant Tax qualification (B. Comm./Acc/Law).
    • Qualified CA and Postgraduate studies in Tax desirable

    EXPERIENCE

    • 2 years of Corporate Tax consulting experience essential and exposure to Financial Services clients would be highly desirable.

    KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Knowledge and experience in application of the Income Tax Act.
    • Have commercial acumen and be driven to provide excellent client service

    Service Delivery Centre

    Provide superior assurance services within the Service Delivery Centre (SDC) Africa team.  The SDC provides audit support to audit teams across Africa on a remote basis. 
    Work under the supervision of an Audit Manager;

    • Perform general auditing functions according to PwC methodologies including but not limited to: bank confirmations investment confirmations, group deliverables, receivable confirmations, checking and casting of financials, obtain/coordinate and summarise ISA 402 supporting documentation;
    • Perform test of details/test of controls;
    • Work within budget allocations;
    • General administration;
    • Invite and provide evidence-based feedback in a timely and constructive manner;
    • Share and collaborate effectively with others;
    • Work with existing processes/systems whilst making constructive suggestions for improvements;
    • Validate data and analysis for accuracy and relevance;
    • Follow risk management and compliance procedures;
    • Keep up-to-date with technical developments for business area;
    • Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner - verbally and in written form;
    • Seek opportunities to learn about other cultures and other parts of the business across the Network of PwC firms;
    • Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.
