    Accountant

    • As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Accountant within our Baking operating unit in Mpumalanga. The purpose of the role is to provide the information that is needed for sound economic decision making to the business unit. To prepare financial reports that provides information about the business unit’s performance to external parties and to assist with driving Internal Controls. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • BComm / BComm Hons Degree or equivalent  preferably Accounting/SAICA/SAIPA
    • Valid Driver’s Licence 
    • 3 years relevant experience in a similar role

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    Review Financial Records and Transactions

    • Completes Month-end management accounts accurate and timeous.
    • Reviews recorded entries for accuracy and proper account posting.
    • Compiles month-end start to finish and working papers.
    • Processing all closing stock figures, reconcile stock variances
    • Monthly balancing stock and reconciling loan account
    • Assisting Financial Manager with month end detailed reports
    • Monthly Depot profitability
    • Analysing monthly COS per GL and compare to WTR
    • Maintain Provisions & Accruals account
    • Maintain Discounts & Rebates provision account
    • Assist with all Financial related queries

    Report to Senior Management

    • Report to the senior management team on all financial accounts. 
    • Create reports when required for all financial transactions that relate to the business unit.
    • Compiles weekly reports & cashflow forecast

    Stock

    • Ensures all stock managed items are balanced (Stock sheets vs System processed) 
    • Despatch Stock
    • Production Stock
    • Maintenance Spares
    • Workshop Spares
    • Report Stock managed item variances to senior management.

    Controls

    • Liaison with Internal and External Auditors

    Surprise depot visits reviewing:

    • Cash handling procedure are reiterated
    • Safe key procedures 
    • Depot return procedures etc.

    • Vansheet recons spot checks
    • Despatch recons spot checks

    • Full admin managing function.

    Process Leader – Spartan

    • Our Talent Team is on the hunt for a Process leader for the Baking Division. The role will be based in Spartan and will report into the Senior Process Leader.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Tertiary qualification preferred.
    • 2 years relevant experience preferably in a unionised food processing plant at a supervisory/management level.
    • Experience in a Baking industry.

    Knowledge:

    • Production principles.
    • Processing equipment and plant maintenance and operations.
    • Labour relations legislation and procedures.
    • ISO and health, safety and environmental legislation.
    • National best practice standards.
    • Systems for SHEQ.
    • Product specification knowledge.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Production Planning:

    • Communicate the objectives of the plan to the team on shift to ensure understanding.
    • Ensure man load is at full capacity according to the production plan, and request additional resources if necessary before starting the line.

    Operations Management:

    • Follow the assigned plan until completed or a problem arises.
    • Alert the Processing Manager to any deviation to the production plan immediately.
    • Prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Conduct the required checks on start-up, during the shift, and sign off, and ensure the relevant data is recorded correctly.
    • Do calculations to establish the most efficient use of resources allocated to the line, i.e. cost, people, time, etc., ensuring that these are neither wasted nor misused.
    • Adhere to man load requirements.
    • Ensure allocated resources are accounted for throughout the shift.
    • Reallocate resources / work within area of responsibility if behind target, and change deadlines if necessary to ensure the achievement of production targets at the lowest possible cost.
    • Request additional resources if necessary to produce the required product mix.
    • Alert the Processing Manager where there may be spare capacity.
    • Ensure tools / equipment are utilised in the correct way.
    • Ensure that the machinery and equipment required for production are working properly to enable correct levels of production output. Report faults / breakdowns immediately.

    Safety, Health, Risk and Quality Compliance:

    • Work consistently according to standard operating procedures and ensure compliance.
    • Understand the safety, health and quality standards of the job and the reason for these standards, and communicate these reasons to others.
    • Monitor safety on the line:
    • Ensure that protective clothing is worn by all employees in accordance with food safety standards.
    • Apply all other food safety standards in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Check that access doors and gates are locked at all times to prevent unauthorised and unmonitored access.

    Cost Control:

    • Issue PPE to Operators according to procedure.
    • Motivate where additional PPE is required.
    • Monitor the line to ensure work is executed consistently according to standard operating procedures to minimize waste and reduce consumption where possible.
    • Monitor the usage of materials:
    • Draw the correct quantity of packing material from stores to match planned daily utilisation in production.
    • Identify and report wastage of materials / product.
    • Report machinery and equipment that is not in good working order immediately to enable correct levels of production output.

    Team Supervision:

    • Ensure direct reports operate within boundaries set.
    • Supervise people performance:
    • Supervise the activities of the team to ensure production targets are met.
    • Actively manage non-performance. Initiate disciplinary hearings as needed and according to RPM standards.
    • Monitor time and attendance daily and report on absenteeism.
    • Complete all time sheets and attendance registers on a daily basis.

    Exports Manager

    • The key purpose of this role is to manage all bagged Sugar Exports to achieve positive contributions while maximising throughput at the mills/refinery. Provide backup to RCL’s South African Sugar Association representatives.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • A relevant Degree, BCom, Major/s in Supply Chain, economics and or international finance
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in export management in the sugar, agriculture, or FMCG industry.
    • Proven track record of managing sugar or agricultural exports and achieving sales targets.
    • Experience working with international buyers and understanding of global sugar markets.
    • Understanding the interplay between Local market requirements vs opportunities to Export, working closely with the production/S&OP teams and local sales teams to provide the best outcome for the Sugar business.
    • Experience in trading, forex and hedging, managing pricing, high level of influence and negotiation.

    Knowledge and Skill

    • Understanding of the sugar industry.
    • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and export documentation for agricultural products.
    • Proficiency in logistics , Freight and supply chain management for perishable goods.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and financial reports.
    • Communication and relationship Building and Management skills.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Procurement of raws taking into account: Sugar Industry legislation and rules, local demand for RCLs sugar, export availability and packing opportunities. Manage the risk associated with contracting from SASA on the one side and buyers on the other.
    • Engage with the S&OP process and team to ensure opportunities are maximized at minimum cost.
    • Negotiate contracts with bagged sugar buyers, storage suppliers (Durban/Maputo), in harbor service suppliers, shipping suppliers.
    • Manage export permits, customer relations, and quality claims.
    • Foreign exchange management according to policy including SARB approvals, CFC accounts, and optimal use of various instruments.
    • Debtors’ collection management for negotiated contracts.
    • Support the broader RCL FOODS team through attendance and participation at relevant SASA committees/working groups/Council.
    • Support into Molatek for the procurement of traded raw materials.
    • overall Risk schedules supported by the SHERQ Exec.
    • Participate on the MSP & QS Board.
    • Maintain and build Key Relationships with International Customers;
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms, address client inquiries, resolve disputes, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Deep Understanding of the International Market and building scenarios on when best to Export.
    • Market Intelligence and Reporting, analyse global sugar market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback. Prepare reports on export performance, market conditions and strategic recommendations.
    • Understand the Impact of Various International Accreditations Like Vive etc? understand and apply any potential benefits.
    • Represent Sugar at Group Commodity procurement meetings with regard to Currency and commodity outlooks.
