    GEC Career Development Coordinator - BYU-Pathway Worldwide (Full-Time)

    Responsibilities

    Job Opportunities:

    • Collaborate with the Career Advisory Board and Employer Relations Manager to generate an ample number of work opportunities.
    • Partner closely with the Employer Relations Manager at BYU-Pathway to establish and maintain strong relationships with employers.
    • Work with student committees and Welfare and Self-Reliance Services to hold job fairs at the GEC and/or the local area.
    • Develop a systematic approach for gathering feedback from employers regarding the performance and preparedness of students.
    • Conduct regular check-ins with employers to understand their perspectives on student contributions and areas for improvement.
    • Work collaboratively with BYU-Pathway to implement feedback loops, ensuring continuous improvement in the quality of job placements.
    • Utilize employer insights to inform training programs aligning student development with industry expectations.

    Student Qualification:

    • Identify students eligible for and seeking for work, directing them towards suitable opportunities.
    • Develop processes and workflows showing the path for students to move from enrollment to work-study jobs to higher-level positions. Within workflows, show paths of progression for students who might not immediately qualify for positions, paths for students who come into BYU-Pathway with sufficient skills for more advanced positions, and paths for various levels of work-readiness.
    • Facilitate opportunities for students to practice and improve their interview skills.

    Student Onboarding and Survey Management:

    • Coordinate with the Success Network, including mentors, missionaries, and instructors, to facilitate the onboarding process for new students.
    • Ensure completion of the job registration survey by all students and track the data effectively.

    Student Development and Progression:

    • Work with the BYU-Pathway virtual career center, utilizing digital information sources, counseling services, employment groups, and coordination with the Success Network.
    • Guide students toward the work-readiness badging program to enhance students' professional skills.
    • When students are prepared, develop processes to facilitate handoff to degree-specific verticals.

    Placement Coordination:

    • Work closely with third-party social staffers, funding sources, and Success Network partners to ensure successful placement of selected students in jobs.
    • Collaborate with the Product Manager responsible for the development of placement platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and student needs.
    • Provide input on platform features and functionalities, offering insights into the specific requirements of career development initiatives.
    • Conduct regular assessments to verify that the platform is effectively meeting the demands of students, employers, and internal stakeholders.

    Goal Setting and Reporting Systems:

    • Establish measurable goals for job placement success and student progression.
    • Collaborate with the Institutional Research department at BYU-Pathway to establish PowerBI reporting systems for tracking goals and monitoring student progress through job responsibilities and badging.
    • Implement a tracking mechanism to monitor the number of students actively participating in jobs with a specific breakdown by the employer.
    • Regularly analyze and report on key metrics related to student enrollment by employer, providing insights that contribute to strategic decision-making and program optimization.

    Manage Personnel

    • Provide direction and counsel to student employees and contractors.

    Qualifications

    • Education: This position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of professional post-bachelor degree experience
    • Experience: The most successful candidates will have experience with career development, employer relations, training, development, operations, and communications. The position requires a professional demeanor to represent the institution in a manner that builds positive relations and image with a variety of constituents.
    • Skills: Must have excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in word processing and presentation software. Knowledgeable about learning management systems, instructional design, and e-learning platforms. Ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze data. Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers. Knowledge of traditional and modern training methods and techniques. Exceptional organization skills, leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a team and have attention to detail.

    Area Architect

    Responsibilities

    • This position helps provide and maintain facilities which give Church members places where they can worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances.  Each Church facility that is built and/or maintained should 1) Provide a spiritual setting for members to worship, and 2) Present an image of reverence and dignity in the community. 
    • Working under the direction of the Manager, the Area Architect carries out a variety of moderately complex architectural assignments, exercising considerable latitude and independent judgement in developing solutions and initiatives. Provides services in research, and design, for a variety of new and remodelled building types. 
    • Collects and analyses technical data to determine project requirements and reviews specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and schedules. Prepares and maintains records and reports.
    • Assists Manager in design and technical aspects of architectural projects. Understand and follow client programs and assist clients in establishing well defined scope of work, schedules, budgets and other expectations. Assists in providing design management by reviewing design development, by monitoring progress, and reviewing the work of all disciplines.
    • Assures that all project requirements are properly accommodated by performing an objective analysis and conducting effective meetings with the project team and management.
    • Reports project progress regularly.
    • Improve architectural skills and expertise by attending seminars, reading books, trade journals, newsletters, and being active in professional architectural societies.
    • Participates in the research and analysis of systems, products and that may prove beneficial and appropriate for use on projects.

    Qualifications

    • Must hold a current / valid Temple recommend and/or be worthy to possess one. 
    • Education - Bachelor of Architecture or Masters of Architecture.
    • Experience - 7 years of post-education experience practicing architecture.
    • Professional Registration: Must be a professional registered Architect , or if unregistered , the incumbent must obtain registration within two years of employment with the Church.
    • Skill Level - Able to lead and direct design teams, oversee the development of designs and review construction documents for projects of average complexity. Able to evaluate the performance of project teams. 
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Proficient with computer programs such as Computer-aide design software and other document transfer systems.

    Visual Graphics Creative

    Responsibilities

    • Visual Graphic Communication, Layout Design, Presentation Design, Social Media Graphic Production, Motion Graphics, Animation.
    • Transforming client’s verbal and written content briefs, conceptualize imaginative assets into creatively appealing solutions.
    • Working with internal departments and Communication and Publishing clients to extend concepts and visuals.
    • Sourcing and researching relevant information as required for creative projects.
    • Following and adhering to the Church’s style guide and maintaining its visual identity in all designs.
    • Preparing mockups and presenting to clients before deciding on a final design/concept.
    • Working & collaborating in a team with Production and Content Manager, photographers, videographers and other creatives.
    • Identifying  and keeping abreast with the latest trends.
    • Making sure artwork is correct and supplied in the right format/sizes/colour codes before being sent to press and production facilities.

    Qualifications

    • Must hold a current / valid Temple recommend and /or be worthy to possess one.
    • Minimum 3 year Diploma / Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design and / or related fields of study
    • 4+ years of Professional and creative experience in design, layout, typography
    • Expert Proficiency and experience with design tools and technologies mainly the Adobe creative cloud: (not limited to) Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects
    • Experience in managing briefs, project and organizational skills combined with strong Project and time management skills.
    • Humility with a teachable heart and patience required in achieving the desired client brief including multiple iterations.
    • Although not a primary requirement for this position - it will be advantageous if the candidate is skilled in photography, videography and editing.

    Payroll Accountant

    Responsibilities

    • Collate and prepare payroll information for submission to the external payroll service provider
    • Statutory payroll reporting to 3rd Parties in different countries
    • Collate and distribute month-end and annual reports
    • Provide support to area budget steward re Annual Budget process including Salary Reconciliations for Church Budget Office use
    • Prepare and send periodic payroll funding request
    • Liaise with pension, medical, funeral, tax authorities, pensioners and external payroll provider
    • Quarterly, semi-annual and annual compliance tasks on behalf of each employer/legal entity Compliance skills
    • Interface between employees and external payroll service provider
    • Payroll support and internal reporting to Human resource and Finance & Records Departments
    • Miscellaneous related accounting and finance functions as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Must hold a current / valid Temple recommend
    • Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) or 3-Year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Accounting, Financial Management or other, related field is required
    • Minimum of 4 years in payroll with some accounting or finance experience
    • Competent in working with Excel Spreadsheets
    • Attention to detail and deadline-driven
