    Project Officer

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Ensure co-ordination and implementation of projects on behalf of eThekwini Municipality and eThekwini Municipal Academy.
    • Conduct appropriate communication and agreed upon strategies with stakeholders, develop project implementation plans and operational schedules of project visits and activities.
    • Provide strengthening support to projects.
    • Procure service and resources required to deliver on project goals and objectives.
    • Administer monitoring tools to all projects ensuring the proper administration of and regular updates of such tools.
    • Evaluate projects by tracking progress, being on site to inspect or review processes and report on progress and project expenditure to Manager Projects.
    • Co-ordinate administrative requirements related to all projects assigned.
    • Update the operations room regularly.

    Essential Requirements

    • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in any of the following fields Public Management or Public Policy and Administration or Public Administration.
    • National Certificate Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices (OD-ETDP) (NQF Level 5) or certificate in Education Training and Development Practices (NQF Level 5).
    • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • 3 years relevant experience working in a project management, learning and development environment.

    Preferred Requirements

    • Degree (NQF Level 7) in any of the following fields Community Development or Public Management or Public Policy and Administration or Public Administration.
    • National Certificate Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices (OD-ETDP) (NQF Level 5) or certificate in Education Training and Development Practices (NQF Level 5).
    • Project Management Certificate.
    • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • 4 years relevant experience working in a project management, learning and development environment.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Co-ordinates resource requirements to support operational outcomes detailed in the work programme and agreed service delivery objectives.
    • Co-ordinates and controls tasks/ activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline.
    • Monitors the execution of service related applications associated with the Tyre Workshop.

    • Counts stocks and record actual quantities (reconciliation exclued).

    Key Responsibility Areas

    Manager (Dr And Business Continuity)

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Manages the Municipality's Business Continuity processes.
    • Formulating and documenting a Business Continuity strategy consistent with the agreed business objectives and priorities.
    • Mentoring departments in developing, implementing and auditing their own Business 
    • Continuity plans and recovery strategies.
    • Ensuring that Business Continuity plans are tested regularly by the Municipality.
    • Manages the Municipality's Disaster Recovery processes by planning and charting the direction for Disaster Recovery processes.
    • Co-ordinating and supervising all special projects relating to Disaster Recovery and capacity.
    • Auditing the Disaster Recovery plans of various departments and implementing and testing resultant changes.
    • Effectively manages all risks from a technology perspective.
    • Assessing the potential risks brought about using an external contractor to manage the 
    • Municipality's information-processing facilities and implementing appropriate measures and procedures to guard against the compromise, damage or loss of data.
    • Ensuring that Disaster Recovery Plans for critical business processes have been developed, tested and updated where required.
    • Managing all the activities during the Disaster Recovery process, and during the regular Disaster Recovery testing.
    • Recognizing and identifying potential areas where existing Disaster Recovery policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed

    • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • 5 Years relevant experience.

    Senior Manager (Programmes)

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Strategically positions eThekwini Municipality as a leading policy driven NEPAD City.
    • Builds provincial, national and international knowledge learning networks around city development strategies and policies.
    • Maintains intelligence on international, continental, national, provincial and municipal policy, legislation and regulation as well as best practice and trends and advises the Head on the impact of and appropriate policy responses.
    • Drives the development, monitoring and review of the long term planning initiatives (30 year100 year) that aim to embed sustainability within the Council.
    • Manages the development and annual review of the Municipality’s Integrated Development
    • Planning (IDP) process.
    • Provides continuous mentoring, training and developmental capacity building support to subordinates involved in managing the City’s strategic planning process.
    • Assumes responsibility for the establishment of the Units Strategic Research and Policy Agenda.
    • Manages the co-ordination of the public participation process of local stakeholders that are impacted on by strategic planning projects.

    Deputy Head (Projects)

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Facilitates a process of low income and special need housing development.
    • Designs an appropriate mix of housing delivery models, capable of providing a range choices.

    Safety and Risk Officer

    Key Responsibility Areas

    SAFETY AND RISK OFFICER

    • Monitors compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, Municipal safety, Health and Environmental Standards, Policies and Procedures.
    • Keeps abreast with amendments to Occupational Health and Safety Legislations and industry best practices.
    • Conducts independent inquiries into the occurrence of reportable incidents and fatalities and acts as liaison for the Department of labour inquiries.
    • Assists the Manager Safety and Risk in collating municipal wide accident/incident statistics.
    • Plans and conducts internal safety and risk audits through consultation with respective Cluster Management.
    • Plans and conducts workplace risk assessments through consultation with respective Cluster Management.

    • Ensures Municipal staff receive appropriate training in Health and Safety.

    SENIOR SAFETY AND RISK OFFICER

    • Assess, mentor and monitor new Safety and Risk Officers developmental needs in terms of the Units Skills Development Strategy.
    • Participate in Safety departmental planning.
    • Consult with Line Management regarding Health and Safety audits and Risk Assessments conducted in all Clusters.
    • Co-ordinate the Safety Department expenditure in conjunction with the Manager (Safety and Risk).
    • Complete health and safety audits and risk management processes.
    • Compile monthly reports on services rendered to eThekwini Municipality Clusters.
    • Conduct external health and safety audits.

    Essential Requirements
