The duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources (HR) Intern will include, but not limited to:
Day-to-day office support and administrative assistance to the HR team.
Maintain and manage personal records of employees, including contracts, leave, and training records.
Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, document management, and verification of timesheets in preparation for payroll.
Provide administrative support for recruitment, including posting job adverts, screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and conducting background and reference checks
Prepare onboarding documentation and assist with onboarding of new employees.
Support the organisation and documentation of training sessions and staff wellness activities.
Support the HR team in ensuring compliance with HR policies and labour legislation, and assist with employee relations (IR) matters, including the investigation, documentation, and coordination of disciplinary processes.
Promote and embody NACOSA’s values in all work performed.
Requirements
A National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12) is required.
Relevant Diploma (N6 Certificate) from a recognised TVET College
Basic understanding of labour legislation (e.g., BCEA, EEA, OHSA).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Familiarity with a finance or payroll system (advantageous).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Attention to detail and high level of confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
