    Business Support Specialist

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management
    • Industrial Engineering, or Inventory Management an advantage
    • Intermediate computer literacy level in MS Word and Outlook
    • Knowledge of WMS systems
    • Highly proficient in Excel/PowerPoint for data management and
    • reporting

    Main purpose of the role

    You play your part in the communication between operational colleagues and our software suppliers. Working
    as a "man-in-the-middle" to translate the requirements from operations to the FMS system. You will be
    responsible to configure and test the solution offered to our client and operational colleagues as well as action
    issue tickets logged by our FMS team.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • As an Support Specialist, you will work with our Freight Management System. You will be actively configuring
    • and supporting our FMS application MPO and you will be the point of contact for South Africa. Within this
    • scope, you communicate with, for example, local engineers, colleagues from BCM or our software suppliers.
    • Within your team, projects are clearly defined. You make good preparations together with your team. And are
    • on standby during the implementation period to keep everything on track and solve problems in a timely
    • manner. In addition, you and your team test and deliver software solutions internally. You then assist your
    • colleagues in their final installation and commissioning.
    • You get all this done by:
    • Communicating and following up on requests to our software suppliers in line with SLAs via Jira;
    • Configuring and testing our software vendors' products;
    • Providing support to your operational colleagues;
    • Developing work processes and standardisation within your team.

    Operation Manager, Business Area

    Job-related Requirements:

    • 5+ years experience in logistics environment, 3+years in management positions
    • People management skills including leadership, performance management, IR, people motivation and people development;
    • Communication & conflict management skills to successfully deal with all levels, age groups and cultures of people – both internal and external. Ability to manage people in a unionized environment successfully;
    • Commercial & financial skills: Financial acumen and experience in adherence to budget, contract management and service level agreements;
    • Problem solving skills to identify potential problems and put the necessary in place to resolve the problem. Important to be pro-active not re-active
    • Business development experience:  The ability to identify extension business and new business opportunities.  The ability to engage with the client and design and sell a solution that best meets the requirements of the client and our business.  
    • Multi-functional role:  The ability to work in a complex environment across multi service segments internally and aligning the service delivery across the clients’ extremely diverse environment.

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

    • This service aims to ensure efficiency and contract adherence in terms of client relations, operational performance, commercial and financial performance, people management and development and continual improvement initiatives.
    • The role needs to ensure operations are managed in accordance with the DSV standards and policies and procedures and also have to ensure that the DSV strategy, goals and initiatives are cascaded down through the organization into the various operations.
    • Support and actively participate in development services and solutions to complement DSV’s offering to the Automotive Industry.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Operations:

    • Full accountability and leadership on all aspects of the Automotive operations in Slverton,
    • Accountable for all initiatives being implemented across these operations, including potential new client take-on
    • Meeting of all customer SLAs
    • Compliance of sites to DSV standards:
    • SHERQ – achieve minimum requirements
    • Implement and maintain Quality Management System at all sites
    • Retain and grow business in Automotive
    • Unlock synergies within operations to improve competitiveness of solution to prospective clients

    Client Relationships: 

    • Ensuring client’s needs and expectations are consistently met within scope of the SLA.
    • Client interaction and issue resolution to ensure client satisfaction

    Commercial / Financial:

    • Thorough understanding and application of contract and service level agreement to achieve account stability and profitability
    • Ensure accurate and timeous monthly invoicing and on time payment by client (debtors days)
    • Responsible for GL and Accounting queries.
    • Claims resolution, investigate and understand claim details per incident, report internally and negotiate and process compensation when valid

    Business Development Manager, New Business

    SUMMARY

    • Main purpose of the role is to sign up new accounts
    • Maintain and grow existing customer base for the allocated Branch 
    • Meet monthly and annual targets
    • Strategic accounts need to be signed up and the implementation of these accounts need to be managed by the BDM

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Represent the DSV brand
    • Maintain and grow the existing client base in the Distribution market for the allocated Region and meet monthly and annual retention targets that have been set
    • Prospect for new business and develop a qualified pipeline of leads and convert to actual billing sustainable clients
    • Manage client relationships, both existing and new where applicable
    • Monthly billing and financial reporting shared with the various stakeholders
    • General administrative duties – daily
    • Analysis of sales related information and report weekly to Regional New Business Sales Manager
    • Maintaining client data and update regularly
    • Sign up new accounts and grow business
    • Continuous reporting on competitor and industry analysis
    • Assist in tender/proposal production and delivery (Preparation and presentation)
    • Create sustainable value for customers by adopting an innovative approach to their business
    • Ensure that the required monthly and accumulative targets are met
    • Implementation and communication of signed business is shared with all stakeholders.
    • Management of debtor’s days of clients within the company’s requirements.
    • Ensure regular Inter department communication
    • Identifying cross silo solutions and work with other Department heads to ensure successful partnerships
    • Ensure all client files are updated and maintained as per the company procedures and Quality Management System
    • Carry out any other duties as may be requested by Management.
    • Update and maintain the internal CRM System
    • Meet the expected client call ratio KPI as indicated by your Manager
    • Reporting day to day to the Sales Manager
    • Weekly and Monthly reporting (where needed/requested)

    QUALIFICATIONS  

    • Completed Matric / Grade 12
    • Tertiary qualification an advantage

    COMPUTER SKILLS 

    • Ms Office Intermediate

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

    • Valid unendorsed drivers licence with own reliable vehicle (non-negotiable)
    • 2-3 years Senior Key Account Management & New Business sales experience in the Logistics industry
    • Experience in prospecting for new business
    • Experience in achieving new business targets set
    • Tender Management 
    • Experience in selling cross silo solutions and presenting to C Level
    • Good understanding of logistics and end-to-end supply chain
    • Ability to travel extensively to client site’s / meetings
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Good numeracy skills
