• The Administrator – Security Valuations will be responsible for the input, update and verification of all daily prices into the current investment systems accurately and on time

Job specification 

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

• Update the Apex systems with all the daily prices and the verification of these prices;
• Verify on a daily basis that all systems have been updated through external price feeds and that the data is correct;
• Input on a regular basis into the update of process documentation to record any changes in procedures or additional responsibilities allocated to the individual;
• Achieve deliverables against agreed deadlines and managing of expectations with clients;
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with external and internal clients;
• Stand in as a back-up for colleagues

Skills Required:

The successful candidate will have:

• A related degree or diploma together with a minimum of 1 year’s administration experience;
• Strong numerical and analytical skills;
• Attention to detail;

• This is an exciting opportunity for a Middle Office Operations Manager to lead and optimize our middle office functions, ensuring seamless operational support, effective risk management, and exceptional service delivery across the business.

Job specification 

• Supervise the duties of the Manco trading & payments team function as outlined by the operating processes around Fund of Fund trading and cash instructions. Monitoring of service delivery by the teams in terms of SLA and managing clients’ expectations regarding deliverables. 
• Manage the daily workload and deliverables of the team to ensure that all are met within the required cut off times. 
• Liaise with market players to ensure that all trade and cash settlement processes are completed in a timely manner. 
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with external & internal clients regarding matters pertaining to the team activities. 
• Address relevant market changes, conduct analysis on system enhancement needs and apply measures to cope with the changes when necessary. 
• Perform ad-hoc projects and assignments when required. 
• The management and co-ordination of team deliverables relating to projects and new client/fund onboarding. 
• The management of each team member’s performance and ensuring that output is of a high quality at all times. 
• Providing mentorship and motivation to staff and ensuring that appropriate knowledge sharing, and skills training is given. 
• Empower the respective team leaders to manage the delivery of daily tasks of their teams. 
• Responsibility for resolving issues that have been escalated by the team leaders. 
• Ensure process documents are maintained and up to date to ensure smooth operation of the function. 
• Responsibility for managing risk in the team activities by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk. 
• Assessing opportunities for improved efficiencies and reduced overhead in existing processes, including new technologies and tools. ​

Skills Required:

• B. Com or similar tertiary business study and at least 10 years’ experience in Asset Management portfolio administration. 
• Minimum of 5 years in a management role. 
• Strong Asset Management knowledge and experience. 
• Sound knowledge and experience of back-office administration processes. 
• A good understanding of portfolio management processes and trading lifecycles. 
• Strong people management skills and a proven ability to empower teams for the best possible output. 
• Candidate needs to possess very strong communication skills (written & verbal); 
• Confident & enthusiastic and have a structured approach to work. 
• Ability to work in a pressurized environment.
