    AIT Analyst

    Job description

    British American Tobacco currently have an exciting new opportunity for an AIT Analyst to be based in our Pretoria office on a permanent basis.

    Job purpose

    Support BAT South Africa’s Anti-illicit trade (AIT) strategy through illicit analytics and research; monitoring and analysing the illicit trade landscape; identifying trends and emerging risks; providing intelligence for the Area Head of AIT, SAA and informing other business units in support of commercial objectives.

    Key Deliverables

    • Monitoring of illicit trade developments at a global, regional and local level
    • Provide illicit trade analytics and research to inform AIT operational activities
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of the drivers and extent of illicit trade
    • Undertake open source research on companies and individuals suspected of being involved in illicit trade
    • Identify gaps in engagement plans and assist to commission research for these
    • Provide analytical support to end markets within SAA
    • Support stakeholder engagement as directed by the Area Head of AIT, SAA
    • Integrate research and analytics with in-house commercial market research
    • Ensure internal alignment with other business units
    • A 3-year qualification in Commerce, Finance or Marketing management, post-graduate degree is desirable
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in research and data analysis
    • Experience in developing business strategy and action plans is desirable
    • Experience in research and data analysis w.r.t anti-illicit trading / activities in desirable
    • Strong commercial acumen
    • Communicate effectively and engage with and influence internal & external stakeholders
    • Learns quickly and is agile

    • Proficiency in information analysis and the production of reports and position papers

    AIT Operations Manager

    Job description

    British American Tobacco currently have an exciting new opportunity for an AIT Operations Manager to be based in our Pretoria office on a permanent basis.

    Job purpose

    Lead the implementation of BAT South Africa’s Anti-illicit trade (AIT) strategy at a market and area level; support the implementation of a cross functional operational approach; liaise with counterparts within the tobacco industry and other anti-illicit trade groups in order to share best practice and build up a network of useful contacts; ensure alignment with regional and global AIT approaches, policies and guidelines.

    Key Deliverables

    • Drive the implementation of the AIT strategy and manage related regulatory matters
    • Ensure that the Area Head of AIT, SAA is abreast of potential illicit trade threats and opportunities
    • Collaborate with the AIT analyst in order to ensure that analysis is aligned to market priorities
    • Manage external stakeholders and champion BAT’s engagement efforts externally
    • Collate and prioritise advocacy according to key stakeholders
    • Formulate and validate engagement plans
    • Track stakeholder commitment in line with agreements
    • Ensure internal alignment with other business units as part of a cross functional approach

    Requirements

    • A 3 -year qualification in Commerce, Finance, Law or Project management, post-graduate degree is desirable
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supporting the development and implementation of business strategy
    • Experience in developing business strategy and action plans is desirable
    • Experience in working with law enforcement agencies or customs is desirable
    • Strong commercial acumen
    • Communicate effectively and engage with and influence internal & external stakeholders
    • Learns quickly and is agile
